I would say the game is really well optimized. It's optimized for the hardware it was designed to run on. I think the 8GB minimum is a bit much, but that's my biggest complaint. The GTX 1650 wasn't really powerful when it released. I'm not surprised it can't play a lot of modern games reasonably, or at all. I should also note that the 1650 doesn't even have driver level RT support. Cards like the 1080 Ti are a bit more confusing. Even without hardware RT, the 1080 Ti's ability to run driver level RT should let it run the game, even if poorly. All things the game gatekeeps: -No 6GB GPUs -12GB minimum for path tracing. This blocks powerful GPUs like the 3080 10GB. -No AMD path tracing. At all. -No FSR/XESS. I don't think these make the game "unoptimized." It's just gatekeeping and marketing for Nvidia. I hope the last 2 get fixed at least, for the games image sake, because it really is an amazing game. The most fun single player game I have played in years.
8 gb is still not enough welcome in the ear 2024 and not in the year 2017 the card like the 1080ti was outdated very fast so do not think it was a good card because a 4k card can run any years later most games on the bare minimum FPS in 1080p
I think you are right for the most, this game gives us an example of how games will be in the near future. I think 6gb of vram were just not enough for what devs wanted to achieve and for the solutions they adopted, also 6gb of vram were introduced in mid-range gpus already with the gtx 1060, the only problem here is that modern gpus do not have much more vram, if we had for example a 3060ti with 12gb of memory the discussion would have been different. Another important thing is that RT increases vram usage. I don't think Path tracing is a thing on AMD gpus especially considering how the 4080 and 4090 performs in this game. As an rtx 3080 user I would have liked to try path tracing but looking at how heavy it is already on a 4070 I don't think I missed anything realistically. The lack of FSR and XeSS is perhaps the most serious thing among those listed, although the game still has good performances.
I wonder if you could disable RT through the Game code and remove the RT requirement lock all together by confusing the code that your GPU is RT capable.
you though STALKER 2 was bad at optimization, now look at this Nightmare of Bethesda's forced Ray Tracing GPU requirement... now GTA 1650s can't run the game!(my laptop has RTX 3050 4GB GPU, but that game cannot run on this either)
The game's optimization is good, you just need to use 20-series rt cards or better. Like cmon you still think that old cards will run games from 2024? Bruh.
The game don't run on its minimum requirements of rtx 2060 , always forced ray tracing feature makes the performance bad on cards with lower count of rt cores no upscaler in game, lacks in modern graphic settings , the graphics of this game is nothing special or extraordinary stuff even with all time forced ray tracing that we can't disable.
Forced ray tracing
not just gtx cards, all cards with under 8 gb vram
not true, I have rtx 2060 with 6gb vram and it works
@shelterlingovsky6724 What? How? It doesn't even launch on cards with under 8 gb vram. Check zwormz vid

Nah, thats just bad game design, and the 6gb part is a lie, you can run this trash on a rtx 2060 6gb no problem

is thiss gonna be the case with FF7 Rebirth cus it says minimum is an RTX in the steam system requirements page and I only got a GTX😭
