Gracias.
@akathasamurai Costa Ricans are Americans. I'm from the USA and I watched this video. But their aren't too many Americans that will watch this. Of that you are 100% correct.
check out Fyffes website - not a word about this.. and why should the compagny care since a lot of consumers are ready to close thie eyes and just think about themselves when they are buying fruit..?
@rapskallion I hate it when I do something like use 'their' for 'there' - tired and didn't proofread. I wanted to mention three things that surprised me in this video. 1. There are much more chemicals going on those pineapples than I would have guessed. 2. The wage for 2 weeks was £149. 2. Nicaraguan migrants are doing much of the work. I'm not trying to make a point with this. I thought it might interest some reader to know what surprised me. (Greedy corporations do not surprise me.)
@jbcs97 Well of course they're going to show the rural parts and the "campesinos," because that's where the pineapple industry causes the most problems. It wouldn't make much sense for them to show downtown San Jose, for example, because that's not where the issue is. I don't think it had anything to do with trying to portray the country a certain way, it just happens to be the area that's relevant to the issue. And let's be realistic, not too many americans are going to watch this anyway.
Fuck, this is my country, why is nobody taking care of this massacre? Money involved? As usual, it's nothing new for us. Rest of the world, please, PLEASE DON'T buy this pineapple ever! You can help stop this.
I don´t like this video because it only shows the poorest parts of CR, this is why americans leave the plain they wonder why we have buildings, roads or cars.
recently new uses for pineapple leaves have been developed, this bodes well for the future.
I think the video is important and as important as other videos regarding negative effects of globalized and unsustainable economy...
How did my teacher find this video for the geography assessment
