Are all of the arrows 400 grain with just different tip weights? What size shaft was used? I have the same bow looking for arrow recommendations... Great video
Tomas, I used different spine weights and point weights. Check my description above, I edited and added the spine, length, and point weight information. Most of the time I use the 32" 400 spine, with 200gr point. Depending on your draw length, it might work for you, or maybe something else. I'm drawing about 31+ inches. Shane
@@shanepitzer4126 So you are drawing 47.5 - 48.0 pounds of draw weight at 31 inches then. I have a 66 inch one piece whip, built to order, that is 48# @ 31. It should be about as fast as yours, maybe 4fps slower due to the longer limbs. Once I chrono it on my Labradar, I will let you know the speeds. Dan T says the 66 inch Whip likes a 9.5-10.0 grains per pound arrow. I have 468 gr and 493 gr arrows for it. Your 64 inch whip can handle heavier arrow weights without over working the limbs. Thanks Shane.
@@jefflovesdogs9973 Jeff, yes our bows should be pretty close in draw weight. Congrats on your Whip, Mine is my only custom bow. It really is something special in the craftsmanship, beauty, and function.
Tim, the different arrows on the chrono test were all fairly well tuned by spine/point weight. I don't go as far as trimming shafts 1/4" at a time a such. I do test with bare shaft to make sure I'm in the ballpark for tune. The arrow I typically shoot in this bow is a 32" 400 shaft (Gold Tip Traditional) with a 175-200gr point. Keep in mind I have a draw length of around 31-32". The 600 and 500 spine I shot here were only 30" spine (factory length) so I was short-drawing slightly, with the point resting on the shelf. Thanks for watching!
I don't know, I'm not a great archer by any stretch of the imagination. I probably shoot my best with the Samick Discovery. I actually enjoy shooting the longbows more though.
Great info! If you get your hands on a Toelke SuperD I'd love to see those numbers.
Whips are such nice bows .
Looks like a great bow to shoot!
It is. it's really smooth.
Thanks for posting this. Beautiful bow. I like your style (we have a few of the same bows) 🙂
Thanks for watching! I'm glad you enjoyed the vid. I need to get the cameras rolling again.
I was checking out some of your vids and realized I had watched a few of them already, a while back. Nice vids, and bows. Subscribed to your channel.
Good show Thanks
Beautiful bow, and I am surprised at the velocities you get ( of course that draw length helps). Looks like the front range if Colorado.
Thanks for watching and sharing your comment. It truly is a nice bow, a real piece of functional art. We are in SW Montana.
One more great video …
Awesome 😎
- I have a great northern bow ( ghost )recurve
65# @ 28
I wander what’s speed you get out of it
I don't know. My heaviest bow is 50# @ 28", probably 60 at my DL of 32". That's my 50# Bodnik Slick Stick.
Impressive speed for a bow that long.
It does send them!
A guy with a 31" draw length can wear whatever color shirt he wants. hahaha.

Is that 40 pound Toelke 40 pounds at 31" draw, or 40# at 28" draw???
Jeff, it's 40# at 28 inches. Thanks for watching! Shane

Shane. Were the arrows tuned to the bow?
