@@alexaalexa2308 Really depends on if there was an established relationship before his career began or not. It's harder to form connections once you are in the thick of it, it's easier to maintain if you already had a strong foundation. I'm a dental technician, not the same as doctor I know but I'm still in the lab for most of the day, and it sometimes spills over my weekends as well. My girlfriend and I were high school sweethearts, we've been together for so long I forget what my life was before she was in it. Our relationship was at times strained when I started university and my career began consuming most of my time, but through years of trial and error and constant communication and compromise we've worked out a system that works for us, and those years were great practice for the real thing. It's definitely not for everyone, I won't deny that. There are days when I get home and I'm too tired to do anything, and it's really hard not to fall into a cycle of wake up, go to work, get home, eat, sleep, repeat- in which I don't talk to her for days at a time even though we live in the same house. When that happens I know I need to take more breaks at work so I don't end up a zombie by the end of the day. It's honestly not worth it to get everything done for the day if I end up neglecting everything else, I'd rather work the occasional weekend but still be able to give a piece of myself to her than end up an unreachable husk of an empty shell. Relationships take constant effort, you have to maintain them. Wanting your partner to be present even when they have a high demanding job (doctor, lawyer, etc.) is not an unreasonable desire at all, and it's not all up to the person with the "less demanding" job to make it work. If your partner isn't willing to do what they can for you, I'd strongly recommend to start looking elsewhere.
It might sound like it,but at the end of the day I can only think it is sad. Suppose you actually get with him,now what? He is a workaholic, you'll see him every now and then, and you'll never be even close to one of his priorities, that doesn't sound like a good relationship at all.
It's not that money wrecks people It's the success of others and people wreck relationships. Whenever money is involved, their true nature comes out. They're either so bitter about the fact that you're successful maybe more than them or are jealous.
Blackberry used to be the businessman phone. They were expensive too, they had many features that are basic in mainstream smartphones now, but well before they were commonplace. So it could be a factor of age.
Honestly, family members like this are horrible. My dad was the most successful and richest of his siblings. He spent all his money on supporting his siblings and their families, buying them homes and land. In the end we became broke, and the relatives that took from him all became financially stable, and were able to send their kids abroad. It would've been fine, if they didn't cut us off and talk shit about us afterwards. They even stole lots of our belongings when we were trynna move houses. Honestly hoping i could become successful one day so we won't be the laughingstock during family reunions. I really get why Michi's dad blurted everything out. It's frustrating to be looked down upon like that for your financial situation.
8:02 calling herself fancy beggar is crazy, she is so much more than that. Michi Dad bragging is honestly understandable. Finally able to get back to them in the most positive way. Some of those family's reaction is 100% salty, which means that they definitely has some component of feeling superior or unthreatened. Now they know Michi's family is rising, they feel threatened but can't do anything so they result to passive aggressive again. It's a fked up situation to be in both: poorer, becomes the butt of the joke; richer, they get salty, cold, and passive aggressive. Very typical Asian family drama. Which is why I basically have no contact with my dad's side of family and very little with my mom's side. Those who were "hinting" definitely just want free publicity/labor. Apparently that's very common among art field (from what I saw). They'll pay for electrician without batting an eye but graphic design and art? "Just whip up something. It'll take you no time"
this is literally a fantasy as a SEA child like, even though my family and family friends would never talk about how much they make, I've always fell on the short end of the 'having a future' spectrum along my family and family friends. so to end up making the most money is something I couldn't even dream about... that's like something out of a movie
Keep in mind gunrun(the CEO)would gladly travel to where she is because her parents are worried about her safety if she’s going to America and he’ll reassure them if needed😅
Damn Michi's brother is insanely focused on that grindset. Michi on the other hand... yeah the older she gets the more desperate her family will get and eventually they'll just give up and accept reality.
MichiDad taking the picture of the gold, and I'm picturing that painting from Mulan of the advisor shaking hands with the emperor, but it's MichiDad holding the gold
It's awkward for the Dad to be bragging, but Michi's parents are proud of her, could be worse. Michi's twitch income, even if it was a modest 10K USD a month (by mid-large streamer standards), would make her like top 1% earner in ID
I remember when Mousey's parents wanted to tell the whole family how proud they were of her, but she absolutely didn't want them to because you know there will be that one guy who will very proudly doxx you address real name picture everything and think they are doing a good thing because they're proud of her. Same thing here and it's especially a big thing if her family was as poor as they were. Some of the stuff sounds like she was raised in a very rural and poor area. And her dad probably held 2 full time jobs just to make ends meet
10K usd a month puts you in the top 10% in the US as well, there's nothing 'modest' about that. and if she's making more than that, she's more than likely pushing the top 5% earners in the US
@Btobebone Not to mention Indonesia cost of living is dirt cheap. You can go out for a full meal for less than $2. Her money goes way further where she lives.
She's definitely earn more and she deserves that. I'm glad she choose to be with Vshojo instead of the future HoloID gen 4 (that still not yet happening) as the rumored said a long time ago, cause she won't earn much with ID salary plus youtube money like her HoloID friends which is sad after a lot of their hard work and talent. Good move for Michi decided to be part of EN branch in American company.
As a fellow doctor I respect Michis brother's choice to focus on his career but also, I hope he reconsiders and changes his mind because this career is pretty lucrative and rewarding emotionally, but it's also lonely as fuck
yeah it definitely got nothing to do with being aromantic or aroace as someone who's got a sibling studying to be a doctor i can tell you that they're loaded with assignments and projects literally too busy and adding relationship to that mix is just not a good idea especially when you know full well that with relationships it always comes with a package of drama at the side and that's going to be a distraction when you're studying seriously
Honestly speaking, if I were to make the same amount of money Michi makes, I would never tell ANYONE, not even my own closest family members about my salary. If asked, "NDA, sorry." If pressed, disclose only 30% to get them to back off.
Michi's dad could cause problems for his wife and kids, telling the rest of the family about all this wealth, they sound EXACTLY like the type of people you don't wanna tell about your wealth. I can see em plotting some shit.
Yeah I live in sea country, you'll definitely don't want other members of the family to know you has any money. The moment they even know you had any moderate sum, they immediately come to your house, invent some bs back story and why you let them borrow it and never plan to pay back ever again.
This is why you should never tell anyone you won the lottery. People change when you have money. Not giving away money when you have it looks bad, but you also don't have enough for everyone. Giving should be done in small amounts and rarely. People should think you saved up, and your spending is only for special events.
It do be like that when money is mentioned. My grandma's brother owns what was probably a farm way back in the day along with the big fields next to it. Well the company running next to them is a company that refines marble and they purchased a part of their fields so they could expand. The sum of money was quite big for them compared to the amount of the field they actually sold(granted the money is miniscule for a company of that size, only like 1,4 mill USD). Now you can imagine how the rest of the family feels when they hear about this, we didn't really interact that much with them before either but after this you could hear the jealousy and disdain my family had for them. At some point it seems to have ended though as we do visit them, they visit us and my grandma etc. but yeah, even if you're related the jealousy is just as strong if not even stronger when it comes to money.
DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT SAYING THAT THIS IS WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH MICHI, BUT WHAT SHE SAID MADE ME THINK ABOUT THIS: my parents had a similar situation when one of my dad's relatives found out how much money he actually made after they'd spent the last 3 decades assuming he was poor and looking down on my family. they went cold, too. the reason being, well... they thought we were beneath them. they felt they could treat us as beneath them. it came across as just plain ol' casual interaction because in reality they were acting according to a status quo that they had assumed. some people just operate like that. they didn't know how to react because they realised they'd been overly casual with someone who was technically "above them" in status. and suddenly we had people asking my dad for favours, money, because. they were trying to bring him back down to someone they could push around and have power over again.
I don’t like to talk about money either. For some reason it’s always a bad topic bc there’s always someone in the conversation, who makes more or less and a lot of our self worth comes from that. I even remember a friend who seemed unhappy his wife started making more than him, so he pushed for a promotion to keep doing more.

1:46 Literally our family as well 😂 November 2024 was the first time we got our family extended by a child in 16 years, before that I was the youngest 😅 I have two female cousins and one male cousin, both my female cousins are dating someone but only one of them has a child with her boyfriend. I believe my cousin isn’t in a relationship with anyone and I certainly will never be, I do love the prospect of loving another person but I just can’t imagine ever sharing my time and life with someone else, just sounds so dystopian to me. ^ I am specifically talking about my closest family members and the ones I know of, of my father’s side. I have barely even ever talked to my mother’s side of the family. Her side doesn’t need to worry about children and whatsoever but the only ones I know of over the phone on a daily basis is my mother’s mother (It feels uncomfortable calling her grandma), my uncle,my mother’s cousin and her two children. Those children are somewhere near my age (17) one is younger than me, he is I think 14 and the other one is an adult (female), I think either she will only ever adopt or don’t take in a child because she is lesbian. Our family is pretty much doomed to be erased from history at some point 😂

she's living the dream. in 4 decades of my life, I still do not have the ability to pay for all of my parent's expenses. only the occasional festive meal. It's very person's dream to make their parents comfortable and without worries.
Lmao this reminds me of my dad, not that I’m doing anything cool but my grandparents and his brothers actively tried to keep him down, told people he was a thief, a heroin addict, stole from him and so on. Now he makes it a point to pull up in a different new vehicle every year. And to rub salt in the wound he’ll buy stuff and ask his brother to keep it at his place cause we don’t have room, so he has to look at it everyday
Tell them it has a high turnover rate if people aren't suited to it, with many not even lasting six months.. Edit: I was reminded of a story I heard from a customer. According to her, her uncle used to have a sporting goods store that was doing quite well, and he was a nice and down to earth kind of guy. , but he won a lottery for 3 million dollars and for some reason, _all_ of his customers became convinced he was going to become a gigantic narcissistic butthole, so they stopped showing up to his store. His business tanked and he spent most of his money trying to keep his business afloat. He ended up having to declare bankruptcy and foreclose the business, costing twenty employees their jobs just because people ASSUMED he'd become "too good for them". Suddenly getting/having lots of money does change most people to some extent, but there are people who resistant to change. Sadly, there are always going to be people who assume the worst.
My sister has been divorced 3 times. Take her advice and keep your name if you get married. Changing your name is, in her words, "a massive pain in the ass"
The woman doesn't take on the husband's name to continue on his line. It's to establish paternity for all of her children. When the child is born we already know who is the mother. But we don't know the father of the child except on paper. Before, if the father wasn't present at the birth for example, at war, dead or just away from the city when the child was born then the mother could technically make up any name. Hence why the practice started so many hundreds of years ago. If a woman remarries and has a new child, that new child takes on the father's name to show that he's the father. It's not a sexist concept at all. Also, the story of the family members who want you to give them money because "we're family" when they've never supported you or even knew who you were is a story as old as time and found in every single society since the dawn of mankind. Relatives you haven't seen since childhood or never met will come out of the woodwork to congratulate you then ask for something.
Same thing happens in Mexican house hold and family gatherings. If you talk about how much you make they demand you to send them money because "where poor" This stuff happened to my mom once. and pretty much found out after my grandma passed away she saved all that money my mom send her to a bank we didn't know till she passed. it caused a bunch of drama within the family on her side. i don't speak to none of them minus two aunts. people like that are wild af wanting a little peace of what you do.
when i heard the story on stream i legit thought that her dad's bragging would make the relatives demand her to pay for everything lol, at least the cold, distant reactions were not that bad
"Fancy beggar online" while strictly speaking in a certain sense is true, is a little bit harsh towards herself. A beggar doesn't provide something in exchange, she does in the form of entertainment.
I understand not wanting to be doxed, but good on your Dad for being that proud of you. If everyone had parents that felt that way about their children the world would be a better place.

I love how michi, kuro and Matara say how much vshojo better their lives without saying it. Kuros debt free, michi parents are bragging about her, and Matara finally getting the love she deserves.
Michi’s bro is the aroace icon we all need

@@gigitrixOMG. Thats the oaths docs take to say they will do as good as they can right?
ngl, Michi bro dead set on marrying his job as doctor, make him sounds even hotter
Trust me it sounds hot. But when you get round to it it isn't. Bless the man though it's a hard job.
Women say that its hot, until you actually dating one
You will feel lonely
12-14 hours of work is not hot, the work life balance for young doctor in indonesia is bad
It might sound like it,but at the end of the day I can only think it is sad. Suppose you actually get with him,now what? He is a workaholic, you'll see him every now and then, and you'll never be even close to one of his priorities, that doesn't sound like a good relationship at all.
Sadly money can wreck relationships just as much as it can help peoples lives.
Makes me sad to hear about all that but I'm not exactly surprised.
It's not that money wrecks people It's the success of others and people wreck relationships. Whenever money is involved, their true nature comes out.
They're either so bitter about the fact that you're successful maybe more than them or are jealous.
Well it can out those who aren't worth a relationship, so I'd say that's more a plus than a negative. The problem is more in attracting falsities.
Her dad is wild. The duality of using a blackberry to show off his gold.
Blackberry used to be the businessman phone. They were expensive too, they had many features that are basic in mainstream smartphones now, but well before they were commonplace. So it could be a factor of age.
@@kukuc96also harder to teach some elders how to use smartphones these days
Honestly, this puts a smile on my face knowing Michi is doing well and taking care of her family.
It'll take you no time"
"How much do you make?"
"Depends on the commission"
what's the biggest/average commission?
this is literally a fantasy as a SEA child
like, even though my family and family friends would never talk about how much they make, I've always fell on the short end of the 'having a future' spectrum along my family and family friends. so to end up making the most money is something I couldn't even dream about... that's like something out of a movie
Keep in mind gunrun(the CEO)would gladly travel to where she is because her parents are worried about her safety if she’s going to America and he’ll reassure them if needed😅
Would you say he would RUN faster than a bullet shot by a GUN?
Gunrun is an amazing wholesome guy full of willingness to help. Has been all the time - even back when he was working for Twitch.
Damn Michi's brother is insanely focused on that grindset. Michi on the other hand... yeah the older she gets the more desperate her family will get and eventually they'll just give up and accept reality.
Michi is near the wall
Thanks for the story! That SEA struggle is something else lmao.
It's a little out of nowhere - but having an indo do so well is so cool!
She could refer to the big debut money as a one time signing bonus when she was hired.
And say that a lot of what she earns goes into investing in future projects if she really needs to dial things back later.
Or even as variable compensation, like a performance bonus. Pretty normal to have that too.
The badblood in asian family is so intense. Its borderline cut throat.
MichiDad taking the picture of the gold, and I'm picturing that painting from Mulan of the advisor shaking hands with the emperor, but it's MichiDad holding the gold
😂😂😂😂😂😂
"we cooked lah" - michi and her brother
No marriage, only breed. - Momma Michi
not her mom, her extended family
Michi: (avoids question)
Michi's Dad: (begins pulling out the Receipts)
Michi is making way more than 10k. KURO straight up showed his revenue, and he gets 12K. His viewership is lower than Michi around 1.5k CCV average.
Easy job, high pay, travelling overseas. A malicious mind would conclude that Michi was sugarbaby.
Does her family even know what a sugarbaby is
I find it so sweet that both Michi and Kuro's first goal after making money as vtubers is taking care of their family ❤
Michi's dad is so sweet
Michi’s 2nd cousins: Michi do you manage that stitched up female idol from that big vtuber company
Do you know how little that narrows it down, we also have Ollie who's stitched up
sounds like what happened to moona's brother
he actually superchatted to moona before knowing she was actually his sister lmao
As a fellow doctor I respect Michis brother's choice to focus on his career but also, I hope he reconsiders and changes his mind because this career is pretty lucrative and rewarding emotionally, but it's also lonely as fuck
she said he wasnt interested in romance, doesnt mean he cant have friends. Plus he might be aromatic or aroace.
@@warcheddar4163 Aromatic? You mean aromantic. I doubt he's got an aroma.
@@Techno_Idioto I dunno, some folks just smell GOOD.
Some people simply aren't interested in romantic relationships at all. The way she described it sounds like that might be the case with her brother.
yeah it definitely got nothing to do with being aromantic or aroace
as someone who's got a sibling studying to be a doctor i can tell you that they're loaded with assignments and projects literally too busy
and adding relationship to that mix is just not a good idea especially when you know full well that with relationships it always comes with a package of drama at the side
and that's going to be a distraction when you're studying seriously
Dad was so proud of her, he just turned everyone into vultures in the process
As an Asian I can confirm it is constant after a certain age
Honestly speaking, if I were to make the same amount of money Michi makes, I would never tell ANYONE, not even my own closest family members about my salary. If asked, "NDA, sorry." If pressed, disclose only 30% to get them to back off.
The past 8 months Michi has just been feeding munitions to her parents to brag about their children at family gatherings 😂
Her dad was stocking up on ammunition for 8 months then release it all at once
People should think you saved up, and your spending is only for special events.
people don't change. they just see you as exploitable rather than broke. money reveals people's nature; simple as.
1:50 Michi: we are fkd
me: no you are not wich is the problem
🥁
Bruh I saw this comment at the moment I heard her and I responded the exact same way so you got me effed up right now XD.
"Fancy beggar" she is so real for that lmao
18:00 michi, thats when you're supposed to stand up and start yelling DAD NDA NDA while charging at him to shut him up
It do be like that when money is mentioned.
8:00 "I am just a fancy begger online"
That's actually a great way to put it😂
The more he goes on without the exact context it sounds like you are your boss's mistress.
DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT SAYING THAT THIS IS WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH MICHI, BUT WHAT SHE SAID MADE ME THINK ABOUT THIS:
my parents had a similar situation when one of my dad's relatives found out how much money he actually made after they'd spent the last 3 decades assuming he was poor and looking down on my family. they went cold, too. the reason being, well... they thought we were beneath them. they felt they could treat us as beneath them. it came across as just plain ol' casual interaction because in reality they were acting according to a status quo that they had assumed. some people just operate like that. they didn't know how to react because they realised they'd been overly casual with someone who was technically "above them" in status. and suddenly we had people asking my dad for favours, money, because. they were trying to bring him back down to someone they could push around and have power over again.
"Leon, please, the Mochi family line, Leon, you have to continue the Mochi line, Leon, you have to do it Leon"
Leon S. Kuro: No thanks bro.
last i checked they are cousins 😂
I love Michi's dad now. 😂😂😂
Happy to be part of Michi’s success ❤ Also, as an Asian, this all checks 😂
These peeps asking about the job really want in on the job 😆. To be fair a NDA can cover just about anything you don't want to disclose.
A parent will always want to brag about their children.
😂 your dad didn't describe how a manager works
Technically he did, gets free stuff=quality assurance, flies abroad with security=high value business is being conducted
Oh the vultures are about to be scraping at ole michis door
I don’t like to talk about money either. For some reason it’s always a bad topic bc there’s always someone in the conversation, who makes more or less and a lot of our self worth comes from that. I even remember a friend who seemed unhappy his wife started making more than him, so he pushed for a promotion to keep doing more.
13:19 CANADA INDIRECTLY MENTIONED 🍁🍁🍁🗣️🗣️🗣️
My Asia's relatives always use the terms "'cause we're care about u" to pry open all the things I dont want to share
This is my intro video for you
Immediately clocked the viet/thai accent and i’m dying inside bc your viet/thai accent is so pretty, you enunciate words beautifully, even if the accent is _thick_ af lol ❤❤ also, LOVE your avatar
Is it viet or thai? Idk, those are the only two countries that I remember people use “lah”
Papa Michi is as creative as Michi while flexing XD
1:46 Literally our family as well 😂
November 2024 was the first time we got our family extended by a child in 16 years, before that I was the youngest 😅
I have two female cousins and one male cousin, both my female cousins are dating someone but only one of them has a child with her boyfriend.
I believe my cousin isn’t in a relationship with anyone and I certainly will never be, I do love the prospect of loving another person but I just can’t imagine ever sharing my time and life with someone else, just sounds so dystopian to me.
^
I am specifically talking about my closest family members and the ones I know of, of my father’s side.
Our family is pretty much doomed to be erased from history at some point 😂
i hope she still does fashion stuff. i realized pretty early on that i was not meant for an art career but i still love to make stuff, feels great to keep doing what i love even if its not great. maybe she can show off some fashion sometime.
This Sound soo much like household here in Latin America....... Its Indonesia, The latin America of Asia or am Crazy, cuz the more i hear trought michi and other indo/English speaking Vtuber i get a more latino vibe from them... maybe am Crazy
we're brother's from another hemisphere, i swear
I am neither, but the stories I hear from both contrast similarly against what I see first hand in Europe, so I would totally believe that the two are similar in this respect.
Honestly thought PI was the Latin America of SEA. Maybe its the Mexico of SEA. This whole convo sounds very very familiar even as a foreign spouse LOL.
Bruh if we talking about SEA + Latin + Western culture then look no further than the Philippines where all the bad habits got passed on due to crab mentality. If we're talking about disappointment tho, then disappointment is a universal language.
this is the first time ive seen a michi video. it is also the first time ive experienced love at first sight
looks like michi's mom is gonna get grandchild
Whenever someone ask for how much I make I say "enough" not even my parents know.
Yeah I hate those questions with family especially the career/financial ones
The "I'm a fancy beggar online" is so wise and sad all at once.
More like reductive, like a norad air defence military guy saying their job is "I try and make airplanes crash"
Honestly i think its admirable that brochi takes his medical stuff so seriously
Michi: I'm a social media manager.
Family: NERD!
"I'm a fancy beggar online" - damn, girl, you real.
she's living the dream. in 4 decades of my life, I still do not have the ability to pay for all of my parent's expenses. only the occasional festive meal.
GRANDCHILDREN WHEN????
-- Every mother when you turn 18
Deep down Michi have a good heart. And so happy to know her parents a even more proud of her now.
100% entitlement. They feel like they're owed part of your money and success.
It's cool that Michi bro single by his own choice while michi single by other people's choice
9:00 it's more of how fucked the economy is tbh😂
oh hell na they wanted her to go straight to step 15 💀
thumb up for adventure time reference
My sister has been divorced 3 times. Take her advice and keep your name if you get married. Changing your name is, in her words, "a massive pain in the ass"
After 3 times you have to accept maybe your sister is the problem.
@NotAGoodUsername360 yeah the name isn't the biggest issue here.
I dont think i am gonna accept marriage advice from someone who has been divorced 3 times
Sounds like an ultimate dad tbqh. Doesn't sound like only pride, but also very protective and constantly thinking of his daughter.
Classic father can’t keep himself from being proud
this is why you only ever tell people "enough" or "not enough" when they ask what you are making.
She could say next time she got demoted to a manager. "The work is rough and the pay isn't great, but at least it pays the bills."
Michi parents flexing how proud they are to michi ❤
Michis model really sells the fashion major, cool as hell
Personally, I hate with a passion when my family talks about my personal life. I would absolutely lose my shit if my dad started talking like that.
I love once she started doing her native accent to impersonate family, she couldnt shake it
In her previous company, she ran the risk of having her house turned into the family storage. But now she owns the family.
21:42 holdup. Is that looooooong Michi Mochievee in the bottom left corner?
"Fancy beggar online" while strictly speaking in a certain sense is true, is a little bit harsh towards herself. A beggar doesn't provide something in exchange, she does in the form of entertainment.
8:00 Panhandling PNGs meet Day Time Talk Show was not on my bingo card during y2k but we are here.
I understand not wanting to be doxed, but good on your Dad for being that proud of you. If everyone had parents that felt that way about their children the world would be a better place.
The brother sounds AroAce.
Daaang that’s just too much information drop. That’s is such hard anxiety fuel. I would HAVE to stop the parents from talking like, “Ooooookay I think that’s enough, let’s talk about something else.” Then they will know you’re hiding stuff, but honestly that’s fine. “NDA.” That’s just how it be. It’s terrible that now they see her as too good for stuff.
