Congratulations on a very good instructional video. Your love of the river and fly fishing express themselves throughout. Nice to see how carefully you handled the Grayling, and didn’t hold her up for ages just get a photo. Despite lots of new flys & materials there is still lots of magic in the classic flys; they have caught thousands of fish, long live the Red Tag!

Hi Roger, really appreciate your feedback. Indeed, the old patterns will always work, it’s a shame they often get neglected - traditional wets are the same! Tightlines.

Nice to see what the fish look like when you catch ‘em. 3/4 lb’s not bad for a trout . Big grayling.

Well done on a superb grayling , this must have been before storm babet as since then my rivers the banwy and vyrnwy have been permanently in spate for about 6wks now so my hopes of quiet autumn grayling fishing went out of the window.

Thank you. Yes, this was filmed in early October when the rivers were somewhat settled!

The beauty and calmness of these UK streams is striking. Unfortunately we don’t have much of this around here in the Netherlands. Which type of fly-line have you used here, if I may ask? Did you attach the French leader directly to the backing, or maybe to a specific euro nymphing fly-line? Stay strong 🙏🏻

Thanks for the feedback, indeed, we are very lucky with the rivers we have in the UK - you should visit! On this video, I'm using a setup where I've connected a 9m Hends French Leader to an old Rio Technical Euro Nymph line. I've since moved onto the 12m version which avoids any fly line being in my hand. Regards.

@ I’ll visit North England and Scotland probably next spring. We have no trout, but a lot of big pike over here! Thanks for the advice. Cortland seems to offer excellent lines for this purpose too. I’m selecting a euro nymphing equipment right now, and will for starters go for the basic set up you’re using. Thanks again 👍🏻
