    Consciousness is referred to as a stream. A stream flows, but also multiple streams gather into pools very much the same way a well is a source of water for a village.
    When the water of the well is contaminated, all have to take precautions to treat the water prior to ingesting (assuming the well can’t be treated directly). We should be careful not to put out what we don’t want returned; however, I agree there is a ripple to not only our actions but our words and even our thoughts.
    We can’t just pretend the well is clean when it’s not; we all have to recognize the “evil”, even when far away, has an impact upon us because at it’s most fundamental level it causes us to ask questions about our own nature and the nature of innocence.
