Very accurate and durable. 2 pass through on deer so far. Congrats on a great head.

Interesting podcast. First thing I wondered about with these heads was the performance on angled shots. Glad you guys covered that.
I have a huge pile of mech. Broadheads that I’ve bought, shot and the chickened out on right before hunting season. I’ll buy some of these and try them simply because I’m a bow and arrow junkie. Maybe try ‘em on a bear if I’m lucky and see how they do.

Shot a pronghorn yesterday in co with a Hyde! Hit him a touch forward but the expandable blade caught the front of both lungs. That large cut saved me!! They Shoot with my field point out too 100 all day! Great head!!

Brian. Regarding the coffee sponsorship with Juniper. Would love to see them launch some single serving options for backpack hunts. If you can pass that along! 💪🏼

I shot an elk broadside at 70 yards with the original design cut on contact thru the heart complete pass thru. I didn't think it would pass completely thru but it sure did .

Dan, what gr. of head are you shooting and are you always shooting the Hyde for elk?

I like the practice head idea for target practice.

    Link to the broad heads?

Honest question here, wouldn't you cut more if you have a complete pass through as opposed to just 8 inches of penetration?

I have never only had 8" of penetration with a good broadhead. L..mechanical or fixed. But honestly I'd rather shoot the Evolution Hyde and not get pass through than shoot a 1" fixed head and get a pass through. Fixed heads are just not as lethal.

@@danpickar5442 Have you ever not gotten a kill from a fixed head?

@@JedlyMT I've gotten a lot of kills with fixed heads, they just don't do it as well. But yes I've lost animals from fixed heads in the distant past. And heard ever more horror stories from fixed heads not leaving blood trails.

@danpickar5442 It's such a fun debate! IMO, mechanicals have been bad for so long that single bevel fixed is having a surge but there are a couple mechanicals that are fixing the issue bad ones had in the past. Evolution and Trifecta both look promising. I've watched your elk kills with the Hyde and I just worry about the penetration. The reason I said 8" is because in the footage it literally looks like you only got 8". And your big bull took a long long time to die. I've gone to a single bevel fixed but I've always heard the worst for mechanicals. And the videos of people using mechanicals are the best archers around. I'm a regular blue collar dude and won't shoot past 50 and that's pushing it.

@@JedlyMT Theres some terrible designs out there that have given mechanicals a bad name...that big bull with 8" of Penetration was a heavy bone hit. Doesn't matter what head it would have been the same amount of penetration. Went through the first rib, bottom of the spine and lodged in the far rib. Lots of bone.
