Girl I have no idea what you singing about coz of language barrier but I find myself dancing tour music. I got to know about you from Matala song and now am hooked. Much love from Zimbabwe💞💟
Oh Winnie, this is very lovely,i am so in in with it. Thanks for the sweet message. and the video is wooooowwwwww. Go gal,goooooooooooooooooooooooooo..........................................
To all of you out there with the language barrier. I will give a summary to this song and concentrate on picking out some examples that will help you understand her message. (at least try!!). 😊 "Olukoba" means rope or belt and in this context is used to symbolise tying relationships. You must tighten the belt (relationship) in order to learn to grow with your partner and understand each other to build your solid foundations. If you do not tighten the relationship then the ties can easily be broken. The understanding of each is important as you initially don't know each other since you did not grow up together and therefore must learn each others likes and dislikes etc. There will be fights but as a couple, it's important to talk things through in the privacy of your home. The dance routine is sassy and wonderful, but at the same time you get glimpses of what she is talking about in some scenes; e.g the cooking, getting her partner's tools ready for work, fetching water. All these inter weave into an extremely powerful, meaningful song of being there for one another. This is by far the best song Winnie has sang for me and is in my top 3 together with "Kano Koze" (the traditional baganda introduction ceremony song) and "Kwata Essimu" (pick up your phone song). Winnie webale nyoo nyoo nyoo. You rock girl!!😘😘
Thank you for explaining this deep. I love nwagi and I think she is so underated yet she preserves the Ugandan culture through her music at the same time she manages to be so sassy and serves us body goals. I mean I would not be greeting people if I had half of her looks banange. Era Winnie webaleee nyo nyoo nyooooo

looks like people commenting on this video failed completely to get the message the song and video were portraying. Ignorance is no virtue and its not cool to pinpoint/crucify someone or abuse her just because you don't get what he/she is tryna say. she was simply sending message to both men and women. the dress part (sleeved dress) of it implies a lady who's in marriage undecided whether to stay in there or not. she has a man and still looking outside instead of accepting she's married, behaving like a married woman (dress decent) so she's simply telling such a wife to tie those dress sleeves (olukoba) which are hanging out exposing undecidedness and be fully committed to her man, listen to him, change him and make a better family.
#Olukoba basically it's a string cut out of a tyretube ,it's used to tie stuff, like on a bicycle, motorcycle & others ,like it's really good when it comes to tieing things very tight, now here she was singing about tightening ur relationship with the luukoba
I hate that this song didn't get the exposure it deserved. It's a masterpiece. I love you, Winnie and I love your music.
