Because Jollibee is a household name here in the Philippines, it's really famous here. This fast food chain isn't just a restaurant where you eat. For us Filipinos, it's a place where family, couples or husbands and wives gather together and bond. Especially for children, this place for them is a like a haven of happiness, a huge playground, where birthday parties always being held. That's why their spaghetti taste ''sweet'', its because it is really made for children's liking of taste on foods. That's also the reason why Jollibee has ''sentimental value'' for us Filipino people. Everywhere, there's Jollibee. We have lots of memories involving Jollibee, that's also the reason why Jollibee's no. 1 fastfood chain here in the country and no other fastfood chains can topple or beat them for how many decades now.

not really a huge fan of Jollibee but to show you his point, i spent my 3rd and 7th birthday on a jollibee birthday party, 2 of my cousins and my brother spent their 3rd birthday party here. My son spent his 3rd birthday party here, and my daughter spent her 2nd birthday party here. So i get why he's kind of sentimental about it. Jollibee is not really my taste but i'm still wondering why it's so appealing to kids, my kids always wanna go there.

Juris Immanuel that's true! When I was a child, it's always in Jollibee where me and my dad (after contests I participated) and also where my family eat in our past time, or after attending a mass in church.

Not really sentimental, lol! Just explaining why most of Filipinos love Jollibee and it shows in those commercials why, you know family bonding, etc.

Jollibee in the Philippines, isn't just a fastfood chain. it's home to Filipinos. this is especially true to Filipinos overseas. Jollibee started in the early 80s, around the same time McDonald's came to the Philippines. it mainly catered to children but now, those kids that grew up with it (and also the parents) have an attachment to it. there's nostalgia, there's that familial feeling. there have been a lot of commercials from Jollibee throughout the years that are like that.
McDonald's in the Philippines have similar ads here too, where they capture the nostalgia and tugs on the heartstrings too.

Jollibee is part of every Filipino household. The food may not be the best or special (don't expect too much - it suits Filipino taste buds really ) but how Jollibee builds memories with you is very special. It is passed on to every generation really just like the commercials. I grew up eating Jollibee like if I did good in school, or was i good girl, i get treated to a Jollibee. After church, birthdays, celebrations.. it's always Jollibee. Filipinos abroad still craves for Jollibee.

These types of commercials are not limited to Jollibee in the Philippines. We have our telecommunications companies, milk commercials, etc. that tell stories and tug at our heart strings. They're not all about romantic love but pretty much everything we go through. They cover various aspects of our lives and promote a lot of good values.

You guys are in the news here! Great reaction! It's nice to see that foreigners not familiar to our local fast food are able to see the culture that surround it because to us, Jollibee is more than just another brand of fast food as compared to KFC or Mcdonalds (we have alot of that here too!). It is a place where almost everybody from all walks of life can come and get some of that tasty local chicken joy. I have alot of memories there as a kid and 20 years later, I am still eating that awesome stuff ( even if it is still fast food). That's why these commercials, even moreso to us, have so much weight because the problems they tackle are sometimes done in that place. Jollibee really is a special place for every Filipino, no matter where.
Hope you guys enjoy your visit to Jollibee! I recommend the 2 piece Chicken Joy!

jollibee is not just a resto here. it's a culture. many of the kids grow up and jollibee has been part of their lives. i was once a kid who grew up with Jollibee in my life. im in my 30's and eveytime i get myself food from jollibee, it never fails to bring back my childhood.

jollibee is loved by all Filipinos. when we were young, our parents use Jollibee to treat or reward us. thats why you see many people go to Jollibee not just to eat but bond with family. that is why we can relate to everything thats going on in these commercials. 😊

Hi! I love your reaction videos of Jollibee commercials. I reckon the reason these commercials were so effective and so relatable, especially if you are a Filipino, was because Jollibee has always been a big part of Filipino families and Filipinos' culture in general. As if they have always known how to touch every part of your heart. Jollibee to Filipinos is like our moms' chicken noodle soup whenever we're sick, or simply their hugs. It may sound odd hearing this, but Jollibee is one of Filipinos' comfort foods. Actually, one of my fondest memories with my mom before she passed away was us dining at Jollibee.

I think every Filipino has an emotional connection with Jollibee in one way or another. That's where we had our first birthday parties, hangout with friends, eat comfort food after a long day at work; it really is an integral part of every Filipino's life. Ask any Filipino in America what they miss about the Philippines and I'm sure most of them will mention Jollibee. :D

Jollibee has played a huge part in the lives of many Filipinos. Jollibee is not only a fastfood chain but it became a place of celebration, reunion, and pretty much our childhood that's why these commercials are very emotional and mostly family related. Like afrer Sunday church, most families spend their time after church going to Jollibee.

The emotional element in ads are impactful. And this, here, I can so much relate to, cause every Saturday morning I join my father in having breakfast at Jollibee's. Though he is 79 years old now, he is still walking, exercising, and eating breakfast with me - if not at Jollibee, then at some other joint outside, for Saturday, or some other days' breakfasts. I am loving the moments and, from this ad, I can really say how, despite the ages of growing family members, it is important to reman closely knit in family relationships. It the simple things that make life so precious and priceless. And even without a Jollibee ad to remind us, we should always continue to respect, love, care and fight for our family member(s), whenever/however way best.

Here in the Philippines, eating breakfast or any meal for that matter in Jollibee or any fast food restaurant is a regular thing. It's like you can't go past the week without dining there at some point. It's a hard habit to kick. It has become part of pinoy culture. So all the fun and even the drama can actually take place inside those restaurants. That's why Filipinos could all relate to these short commercial ads. Thanks for giving a no-nonsense, genuine reaction to these ads. You're the best!

Hello guys, I believe this one is really true 'cause I normally see elderly couple in Jollibee in the early hours of Sunday morning and boy, it just melts everyone's heart seeing them share their meals and all. I guess, you really can't say you have FIlipino blood unless anyone in your family has mentioned about it (Jollibee) and/or eaten one of the food esp. Spaghetti/Chickenjoy/Burger. I am a Jollibee kid and no matter how much I don't like eating sweet spaghetti of any restaurant, but if I crave for one - it will always be Jollibee. :)

Filipinos are family oriented. They make.videos like this not only to attract customers but also make them feel the warmth of spending time with family no matter if they eat at a fastfood chain. Going there usually with our family just to eat a regular meal is time well spent for us. I have been watching vidoes on your channel for quite some time now. Hope you guys get to visit my country, the philippines. And feel the warmth and hospitality of my fellow filipinos. try jollibee as well...it is real good. Godbless.

No jokes, I've binged watched reaction videos to these commercials and I have to say, you guys have the best reactions, so genuine and you always manage to guess just how much these commercials convey. :) You two are so cute as well! I'm a new subscriber!
Can you react to "kahera"/"cashier" or "ang regalo ni lolo"/"grandpa's gift" next? those two are really great as well. Jollibee has really gone over and beyond with their commercials, Mcdonald's philippines couldn't catch up!
Also, there's a Rogue One ad here that we had and it's also really heartwrenching. It's called Create Courage by globeph and it's really great. I don't see many reactions to that here on youtube so it would be really awesome if you guys made one. :)

  • @nimiane01

In the Philippines, there are no restrictions on what to eat on breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It's just what most people eat during those time, but you can still have what you want. My sister and I got culture shocked when we went on vacation abroad: "You can eat this food only on this time." We missed authentic Spanish churros and paella because of it. T_T
So spaghetti and burger for breakfast is normal in the Philippines. But staple for Philippine breakfast is freshly-baked pan-de-sal bread with spread (like pbj or just pb) or something like sausage; or fried meat/fish and garlic fried rice (also a staple rice on lunch and dinner, unlike steamed rice which is eaten more during lunch and dinner)

McDonald's is the number one burger/fastfood chain in the world except in the Philippines where Jollibee rules. Jollibee is setting up stores where there are lots of Filipinos but a new generation of citizens of foreign countries where there are Jollibee stores are located are getting the vibe of the brand.
If you're going to eat at a Jollibee store and will be filming it (mukbang), I suggest you bring a camera stand that can be clamped to the table edge or set up on a tall tripod. What to order to eat at the restaurant: (1) Chickenjoy (spicy or original flavor) with Filipino spaghetti; (2) Palabok (to be mixed with lemon juice); (3) at least one rice meal that might be available; (4) Halo-halo dessert (to be mixed thoroughly). What to order for take-out: (5) Amazing Aloha burger; (6) Jolly Hotdog; (7) Peach Mango Pie; (8) Chickenjoy bucket (6 or 8 pieces). Make sure you bring home extra orders of the foods you liked so you can enjoy them again on the way home.

If u go 2 Jollibee... If you order halo-halo (dessert). Make sure you mix it thoroughly. Almost like a manual blender... then eat it. That is how it is really eaten!

Did you know that 4th Impact is a Jollibee Yumbassador. Yup they were among those that were chosen by Jollibee to be their ambassador because of the inspiration they bring to people

regarding your question on= HOW WE "COULD GET SUCH AN EMOTIONAL CONNECTION TO A FASTFOOD RESTAURANT? i hope this helps….
we Filipinos are "closely knitted families"== we are SUPER PROUD of what WE HAVE (“I love my own”, hahaha)
Jollibee is a FILIPINO-OWNED restaurant "designed" to "compete with McDonald's and KFC, etc---- we were "taught" to PATRONIZE our own products FIRST.
A trip to Jollibee is a TREAT to all Filipinos- young, old, rich, poor.
They have many 'catchy products" aside from the food (COLLECTIBLE toys, DANCING MASCOTS, educational CD songs and videos, TV show"Jollitown", games for everyone, SUMMER WORKSHOPS for kids --art/painting, little service crew, little food manager, little chef, etc). They have PARTY PACKAGES for your birthdays or any special occasions. Jollibee can go to your home/school or anywhere you want to celebrate parties with you and the MOST INTERESTING of all, UNTIL NOW, hahaha, we DO NOT KNOW who Jollibee is!! (the man behind the mascot).. Jollibee made it a point to HIDE their "Jollibee" mascot when donning the, (we usually peeped but they are good at hiding) ....

Yes please! go to Jollibee! Have Chicken Joy (Fried Chicken) and Filipino style Spaghetti (which is sweet). Also have some Halo-halo too! it's a dessert of shaved ice, fruit, jelly and sweet rootcrops and beans. (Mix it before eating). Oh, and "hugot" is actually pronounced like "Who got" or "Hoo got"

It's cause of the music. It was jolly, at first. It doesn't hint that THAT suddenly was coming. (Notice the teardrop, though? That was to make sure we saw it.)

if you are going to jollibee Houston please dont be disappointed with the crew there.... most of them are of Filipino Heritage but i think most dont show Filipino values because some of them are straight up rude .... when you go there and try stuff from jollibee just understand that we Filipinos love sweet stuff ... so our Spaghetti taste sweet ...... try these 1. PANCIT PALABOK 2. LUMPIA SHANGHAI (with the dip) 3. HALO HALO 4. PEACH MANGO PIE 5. SPAGHETTI 6. YUMBURGER ...... and if you are there try the PASTRY SHOP RIGHT BESIDE JOLLIBEE CALLED RED RIBBON and try their MAMON...... im from Arkansas by the way... hope this comment help you guys.....

Oh my. If you're 3 hours away, you should get everything to make the travel time worth it. Have breakfast there then have some of the stuff while on the road back home?
    Must haves?
    Palabok
    Jolly Spaghetti
    Chicken Joy
    Peach Mango Pie
Halo-halo (make sure you mix it thoroughly before eating)
Cheesy Bacon Mushroom Champ (if available is their version of BigMac)
    Jolly Hotdog
    Tuna Pie
Now I hafta go to Jollibee.
