Absolutely beautiful!!!!! Thank you so much for sharing Ilona. I just love your work ❤️. I paint on silk with the Karen Sistek technique using Magic Sizing. There is so much to learn in silk painting. ❤
Hi! You are so welcome I'm not sure in correct name of this silk in English, but may be it's called Taffeta/Tafts. It's a plain woven, pretty dense silk.
Hello Ilona, your videos are so inspiring that I decided to paint my own scarves. I bought iron-fix-paints and I took silk scarf from pongee. I looked good and smooth as I finished. Unfortunately, as it was drying, on sides appeared stains and the color is not unified. What did I do wrong? And how can I avoid it? I tried to find it on internet, but nobody makes videos about common beginner mistakes. I hope you will know what to do with your long experiences.
Hello. What a shame to hear that something goes unexpectedly. Unfortunately I can't see this problem, that's why it's hard to decide what exactly was wrong. But if this stains appears not everywhere, but only in some places, there might be silk quality. I would try next time to wash it in a warm soapy water before painting. If those stains spread evenly all over the silk surface, than it might be paints matter (expired or kept in wrong conditions) There are reasons I could come up with as far. Or it also could be that part of your frame was closer to the heating, and the temperature difference might influence.
@@issilkpainting Hello Ilona, thank you for your answer! I will definitely wash every scarf before use from now on. I was also thinking about the paint quality and I plan to buy it from another brand. The stains looks as if part of the pigment (dark) "condensed" on the fabric. Around the frame it looks brighter than further to the center. Maybe not enough color? Or too much? Well, it is a mystery. I plan to try steam-fix color too, but I don't have a good equipment for it. Thank you for your videos, I find it very useful. :)
@@mistr_makrela Thank you very much :) As you describe those stains - it looks like poor paints quality. But still it's hard to say without seeing it. It's always questions arose while learning something new. When I started painting silk, there also had been a lot of failures. I wish you good luck and hope you manage to find out the reason of those stains
Enjoy the video
