Last year I used a round and oblong steel cattle drums. Unfortunately, I didn’t get as much of a crop that I would have liked and they were all very small. What should I do this year to make them better? I’m in north Portland Oregon area.
Potatoes like consistent moisture throughout the growing season as the potatoes develop, but avoid soggy or overly saturated soil. Avoid letting the soil dry out. Proper nutrients are also important. I recommend doing a soil test if you are unsure about your soil. Also, I believe tuber production slows down when soil temperatures go above 75°F, which is possible in a raised garden situation.
I love the dog digging at the end. ❤
😊 Bandit! I was hoping someone would watch that vid to the end. I laugh every time I watch that clip.
