  • If you watch this video you will learn how you can do your own paper brooch with quilling.
It is such a cute craft that may have multi purposes. I decided to do it as a tricket (martisor).
Martisor is celebrated as a symbol of the arrival of spring. It's a time-honored tradition where people exchange small trinkets, often in the form of red and white threads adorned with symbols like flowers, animals, or in this case, an owl brooch. The red and white threads represent the transition from winter to spring, with red symbolizing life, vitality, and the sun's warmth, while white represents purity and the melting snow. The owl, as a symbol, often represents wisdom, protection, and renewal. Therefore, the quilled owl brooch, meticulously crafted and embodying these symbolic elements, aligns perfectly with the spirit and tradition of the Martisor celebration.
Hope you have fun crafting the quilled owl brooch. Let me know if you like it.

Love owls. I have both quilling supplies and origami paper. I have not yet started with the quilling and have done very little origami. This looks like a great channel to get started. I would mainly like to use the quilling on greeting cards and the origami in junk journals.I like this owl project partly because the basic pieces look like they would work well for flowers and leaves. I will probably practice each piece and make flowers before I go on to making my owls. I will check out some of your origami later. New subscriber. Nancy By the way, is Yandana your name?
