Kuuha Dan in the Genesis version of Fatal Fury was crazy OP. You had like 4 frames to respond to it, a split of a split-second, and it knocked off 45% of your health. CPU Andy often did it as soon as soon as the announcer's "FIGHT" finished, so if you didn't open with your thumb on the backwards direction, you immediately lost almost half your HP.

Lo curioso es que en KOF Maximum Impact 2/Regulation A, Mai Shiranui tiene un Desperation Move llamado 'Hanafubuki', el cual es similar al Kuuha Dan de Andy. Lo cual tiene sentido ya que Mai y Andy practican el mismo arte marcial y estudiaron bajo el mismo maestro, el abuelo de Mai, Hanzo.
This move hasn't changed much in looks (typical SNK) but it changed a lot in factors like hit numbers and whether or not knocking down. I prefer when it knocks down and does few hits. The idea of that spetacular movement not knocking the opponent down, like in most classic KOFs, makes it look unpleasing visually, also hurts his image when he is compared to Terry in charisma and moveset.
This evolution shows a variety of different fundamental ideas that keep going back and forth over the years for this attack... basically "knocking down x not knocking down", and "few hits x many hits". KOF games are more consistent about the attack being many hits and not knocking down, which changed lately in KOF 13-15. And FF games are inconsistent about hits and mostly consistent about knowing down.
