Love that you record in a random room with room mics, unintentionally gives the recording that 50s bebop sound of being in a small club with whatever mics were around at the time. Killer shit
@@slowestjabroni nothing is forever, everything is changing all the time. hope they reach their fullest potential. pretty cool that they recorded it so we can always come back to it though.
I was thinking that this song must be a favorite of the bassist because of how gorgeous the intro and melody is. Little did I know he wrote it! Beautiful composition and excellent performance.
The energy from you guys is magnificent. Literally made me cry. Bass player killin those fuckin fills. Drummer vibin out. Sax whalin. Not tryna be too flashy not tryna be the best in the world but you guys get together swing like babe ruth
I listen to straight up black metal and death metal about 97% of the time. I stumbled across this channel today and am blown away. I can get mesmerized any of you three playing for extended periods of time and then realize, holy shit... There's two other dudes I could be watching. Incredible stuff. I honestly have a hard time trying to figure out who is following who at times, and I'm a musician! Jazz is a whole different beast. Metal needs more bands with jazz leaning, like Imperial Triumphant!
True artists. Recording songs in a cheap apartment room, not caring about acoustics or anything. Just true soul for the music. It's really beautiful, good job guys.
I hope you guys keep your small room / kitchen jam sessions going as your channel grows. It's part of your guys charm. Personally, i consider the kitchen part of the band.

Honestly, this concept is great. It's like we're sitting in someone's bedroom and you're just going for it, with the audience being that 4th person in the room just watching and listening. Even if this might not be someone's style, the personal nature of it really sells it.
This is the very best TRIO saxe-bass-drums I heard in 20 years !! It's very difficult to be in the same league as Rollins, Brown and Manne did but you guys do, to my ears! Do an album now and a video too of the album. I'm sure that you'll be very successfull. I'm the first subscriber of this. Please do it. You're reallly FANTASTICS !!!!!! You tell us a story, a real feeling, real Swing, real Blues. This is TOP ! Hello from Lausanne, Switzerland.
when i'm reading or drawing, i often try to listen to music without words, which has led me to a lot of instrumental focused jazz or jazz in languages i dont understand, theres something about it that just makes my brain go into a flow state, and i really value this genre. Its such a gift to make the rhythm flow into other people in unexpected ways.
Now this is music. The really sad thing is there so many people who listen to nothing but rap, trap, edm and all that crap, when they could be listening to this!
Just found out about y’all and I’m IN LOVE with y’all’s channel. Keep it up, y’all have lots of support! Beautiful to see people my age have a passion for jazz. Love from TX! 🤠
God the last 30 to 40 seconds or so just blend so incredibly well, i ACTUALLY just found myself going "wowowowowowowowow" out LOUD once that ended, the smooth vibrato in the sax AMAZING!!!!
This is truly beautiful stuff. So much character and chemistry going on here. I'd love to learn more about the scene where this is happening. I dig the hell out of how this just popped straight in with my code jams. I guess y'all did something right with your SEO because this isn't even the main kinda thing I listen to.
I have no idea why this popped up on my home feed. I don't listen to jazz, I listen to pop punk. Anyways I subscribed and will be watching all your videos. Keep up the awesome work. Y'all are killing it, seriously.
These videos are so inspiring to get off my ass and practice the double bass more. Your bassist is unreal and so is the sax player and drummer. Keep it up, this shit is tight.
I'm still discovering and ENJOYING your music, idk how long you're doing it together, but guys you are sooo natural ❣ absolutely amazing stuff 🙌🙌🙌 thank you algorithms for bringing me here 🤩😁
The spring of creativity , the sensitivity, the swing and the dry acoustic bring to mind Sonny Rollins Live at the VV from the late 50s. But you guys have your own thing which is unique and just as strong. Free of endless patterns and show off technique you guys are artists of the first order . Thankyou.
It's fun to watch you all play! Fantastic stuff! Abdias -- you remind me a great deal of Forrest Whitaker from the film BIRD, only you're blowin' tenor. You stand just like I remember Whitaker standing in character!
@Robert Alker Hiya Robert - Ya know, most of the studio space that was used during all of those old, famous recordings we all love was usually TINY. I've been to and have recorded in a lot of the old famous studios that were used for recordings from the 40s and 50s... And when I walked into about 80% of them, I'd think to myself "my God, it's like a broom closet". The one that first comes to mind, is the old Herzog Studying downtown Cincy Ohio... A bunch of "big sounding" recordings came outta that one, Hank Senior recorded several there, including "Lovesick Blues". It's amazing that the whole band fit into the joint... The studio room is literally about 10 x 15 feet! Something I hope these Cats NEVER DO, is to ever "upgrade" their recording equipment... Or even use another Engineer. They've got this Trad Sound down pat... And I'd bet money that the room has loads to do with it. Cheers!

Old-school-lo-fi-indie-neo-jazz?
Dude, your bassist is *killing* it. I gotta get an upright and take notes. The three of you have amazing talent, please keep making music!!
Upright is fun! I love my Fender to DEATH, but there's nothing like feeling the upright every time you pluck or bow
"and take notes" nice
Take notes? You gotta MAKE notes! 🎵
I play an upright .... piano

@@newjazzunderground amazing man, keep it up. Every time I see a video by you guys I wanna get a stand up bass so bad, such a massive inspiration
