  • The island of Fulhadhoo is administratively a part of Baa Atoll but geographically separated from it. The distance to Male is around 100 km. Next to it are 2 more inhabited islands: Fehendhoo and Goidho. The remoteness of this place from the main tourist islands makes these places truly wild and that's what we love! The beach is the pearl of the island - the South-West Beach (Bikini Beach) is nearly 1 km long! For inhabited islands - this is truly unique! Depth increases slightly with distance from the beach. The edge of the house reef is far enough - about 800m. The eastern beach is mostly for locals. Just around 50-60 years ago, locals were walking to Goidhoo to get a transfer to another atoll or Male as it was the only way.

How do you travel from Male Airport?
do you ride a speedboat? If so, please tell me the name of the boat company and the cost of the trip.
    Thank you

Hi. The best was is to get the speedboat organized via accommodation on the island as it is quite tricky to get booking online with anyone and on the day of travel there might be no seats available. You will probably even struggle to find where and how to book when on the airport. It is a bit of "organized mess" on the speedboat jetty - hundreds of boats arriving and leaving during a day, no departure/arrival information in any kind or form and no one to give you direction.
So, when we have booked via accommodation (and we have done that the same way travelling to all local islands), they will tell you where to go, the name of the boat and crew will know your name. You don't pay to the crew, but on arrival at your accommodation. Cost was USD130 return per person and if I remember correctly it was less than 2 hours ride. If you want to travel to other islands on different atolls then in most cases you will need to come back to Male and grab another boat from there.
