It's tough. As a prospect there were some real question marks with his shooting. And it's tough to be an elite offensive guy if you're an ~average shooter. And given that he isn't much of a two-way player, you really want him to be dominant on offense.
I think with Luka to see him as this elite a prospect you have to be very confident about his driving game. Obviously it turns out he's all-world at that, but as a prospect, I dunno.
The guys who are offensive engines based on being great at getting to the rim but aren't great shooters are usually elite athletes. Someone like Wade or Westbrook. I haven't studied it closely or anything but it doesn't seem like there's much of a precedent for the Luka archetype (average shooter, average defender, average athlete, but ELITE at driving and passing) to be this good. Maybe that's ok though? Maybe it's clear enough from the film that he'd be this good at driving and that he'll kinda be his own archetype?

i think he was an obviously good shooter with very misleading percentages bc of usage, and he’s also one of the very very best driving prospects ever, i think he was a very obvious future star (and i said this at the time)
