This is what movies are supposed to do. They are supposed to lift us up and make us feel great. They give us escapism from our problems we are dealing with. I miss movies like these. Now everything is for money. But I will always cherish the movies we did get. I will never forget them and I will never stop watching them, because they were there for me during the worst times of my life when no one else was.
This is a fun idea. Nice job with the review as always. I actually watched a film today that makes me feel great. Toys(1992) starring Robin Williams. It's not a top five film by any means but something about the heart and message of the film just makes me legitimately feel great about where I am in life. The simple message of "Let joy and innocence prevail" just speaks directly to my soul. And it makes me feel great about films in general due to the film's stunning new world that is brought to life with such wonder and grandeur. Toys is a prime example of the kind of storytelling and creations that only the medium of film can bring into reality. As for other films that me feel great are Ghostbusters(1984), Top Gun, Demolition Man, Backdraft, The Thing(1982), The Blob(1988), The Fly(1986), Big Trouble In Little China, InnerSpace, RoboCop(1987), The Monster Squad, Flight Of The Navigator, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles(1990), and many more.
Well films that make me feel great would include: "Disney's Alice in Wonderland", "Before Sunrise", "ET: The Extra Terrestrial", "Who Framed Roger Rabbit", "Disney's Aladdin", "Marvel's The Avengers", "Yojimbo", "Raiders of the Lost Ark", "Toy Story 3", "Toy Story 2", "Return of the Jedi", "Psycho", "Alien", "Jurassic Park", "The Apartment", "Yes, I agree with you on Ghostbusters", "Star Wars", "Wall.e", "Aliens", "The Original King Kong from 1933", "Terminator 2: Judgement Day", "Rear Window", "Toy Story", "The Empire Strikes Back", "Jaws", and "The Original Godzilla from 1954".
This is a great video! I remember going to the movies and people cheering for films and getting truly excited and happy. That doesn't happen much anymore. It was a great feeling.I don't think we will ever get larger than life characters like Stallone, Kurt Russell, Arnold, Mel Gibson or Van Damme again in action films with wonderful storytelling and amazing musical scores.John Carpenter, Tobe Hooper, Richard Donner, Wes Craven, Scorsese and Tarantino have made some really great exciting films and are my top directors. The films that got me the most excited were The Rocky and Rambo films, Over the Top, Karate Kid, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Bloodsport, Cyborg, Robocop, Nightmare on Elm Street 1 through 3, Red Dawn, Poltergeist 1 and 2, Hellraiser 1 and 2 Alien and Aliens, Escape From New York, Tango and Cash, The Goonies Lethal Weapon, Death Wish 3, Pulp Fiction, Halloween, Die Hard, Total Recall, Reservoir Dogs, Goodfellas, Full Metal Jacket and many others from years ago Nothing recently has come close to those films for me!

Some movies that make me feel great? 1. Back to the Future 2. The Tunnel scene mostly where you think he is not going to make it and then boom Doc saves Marty. Gets your heart racing no matter many times you see it. 2. Home Alone, mainly the Church scene, the scene where Kevin misses his family and the end where he sees his mom again. Just melts your heart 3. Rambo 2 the scene where he blows the guy up with the C4 tip explosive arrow. It is just awesome! 4. Liar Liar if you're down in the dumps put this on you'll laugh so much 5. Predator 2 just for how action packed it is 6. Jingle All the Way. Why? Because we have always wanted a toy for Christmas and our parents do our best to try and get it but then when you don't get it, you are left feeling disappointed but when you get older you realise Christmas isn't all about toys it is much more than that. 7. Back to the Future. Why? Because we have all dreamt of what if we could go back in time to see what life was like etc. That would be awesome thing to do
@@Emulous79 Yes, but the lightning effects seems to be ripped straight from BTILC. The whole feel of BTILC seems carried across to MK arcade. Perhaps BTILC was taken from SAs and other eastern martial arts movies. Shang Tsung is like that old guy in the chair. (Also probably inspired Fatal Fury arcade). Sonya is like Curt Russell and his chick (from sex in city and manikin) johnny Cage represents his arrogance. Raiden (obvious). Mixed with pit fighter game and Enter the Dragon.
@@Surgicaldamage Good points. I suppose Carpenter didn't sue for plagiarism as he copied a load of stuff from other movies, anyway. Would be hypocritical.
Rocky 1 through 4, and Rocky Balboa 2006, give me an uplifting and optimistic attitude every time I see them, and the end fight of Godzilla versus Destoroyah 1995 always has me cheering loudly.
There's been no other movie to make me smile like Little Shop of Horrors from 1986! It has top notch special effects that still hold up surprisingly well to this day, catchy songs, fun characters, and a great cast! Easily some of Rick Morantis and Steve Martin's best work. It's also very sentimental to me since it's one of the movies that I grew up with alongside Mars Attacks and the 90's Godzilla films. But it's important to me on another level since it also makes me reminisce on just how simpler everything back then was when I was only about 7 or 8 years old in the first or second grade whenever I first seen it.
No film makes me happier than Tremors! I have so much joy watching it. I even watched it twice over this Christmas. It’s also my favourite comfort movie. I grew up with so it also has a special place with me as I remember watching it with my late nan, so many great memories with it too. It never gets old, I love the characters and funny dialogue, it can be scary at times (it used to terrify me as a kid) But always fun. Every scene is a blast, and as a bonus Kevin Bacon is nice on the eye haha FUCKING love Tremors. I can quote it from beginning to end. There is other films that make me feel good. But not on the level of this classic!
My list would be (was extremely difficult to make!):: -Back To The Future -Forrest Gump -The Pink Panther Strikes Again -Star Wars: Episode 5: The Empire Strikes Back -The Blues Brothers -Coming To America -Commando -Top Gun -Escape From Alcatraz -The Abyss
As a big comic book fan and fan of DC and Marvel, I totally agree with you I miss the 8os when we got countless new action flicks and slasher horror flicks with new Freddy and Jason movies all the time lol. I love comic books and geek culture but I'm so burnt out on comic book movies I wouldn't mind it so much if we had more variety in the theater with more cool stuff like new slasher flicks and action films but we don't get much these days mostly direct to DVD or streaming.
1990's would be terminator 2, the matrix , the last boy scout, the Shaw shank redemption, hard target, Leon, the usual suspects, heat, point break, the perfect weapon blade and blind Fury.
21:24 Well the ones that come to mind right off the back are Kickboxer Bloodsport Missing In Action 2 Lone Wolf McQuade Forced Vengeance Rocky 2-6 Rambo 1-4 Robocop Predator 2 Aliens I Come in Peace Showdown In Litttle Toyko Rapid Fire Lionheart Total Recall The Running Man The Terminator Hard Target Cliffhanger these films along with many others are total crowed pleasers in my book. Another well done job on the video bro!
"Feel good movies"- Ferris Buellers Day Off, LA Story (Steve Martin), The Hard Way (Michael J Fox and James Woods), Hard Days Night (Beatles), Cool Runnings (with John Candy)

The original starwars trilogy, big trouble in little China, Rocky series, bloodsport, Lionheart, best of the best, jaws, superman 1&2, Tremors, dances with wolves, Beverly hills cop 1&2, Indiana Jones trilogy, predator 1&2, aliens, leviathan, Highlander and startrek 1 to 6 movies. that's 70's and 80's. Mr. Nice Guy, Accidental Spy, Drunken Master, Legend of Drunken Master, Crime Story, Who Am I?, and Project A 1 and 2 in a long time, but I’m planning to watch them next year in a marathon since me and my family did grow up with Jackie Chan and I want to give them a watch/re-watch. I do have a feeling most of them would end up on this list, though. I also haven’t seen the first three Mission Impossible films, Dumb and Dumber, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective & When Nature Calls, Liar Liar, The Mask, and The Truman Show in quite a while so I’m planning to re-watch/watch to see if they hold up (I also have a feeling that they will). Anyways, I hope you have Merry Christmas, Matt and stay safe.
I'm not a fan of Predator 2. It looks great but there's too much joking around. Clashes with the grittiness. Like, you got Danny Glover all sweaty, getting thrown around, hurt, stabbed, but with a one-liner every time. Just makes him seem not really in danger, and the Predator as not really a threat. They could've done a crossover with the TMNT movies. Have Shredder and Predator team up! It should've been more like The Crow. Imagine The Crow but if Lee tried being a little funny. And of course it goes without saying the first one was funny but that humor was character based and not cinematic based at all. I guess I just didn't buy the funny cop living in a warzone with gangs and brutal aliens. A more dark Predator 2 runs the risk of being depressing and boring but not in the hands of a better director. Like I said, The Crow, with more gore.
"but with a one-liner every time"...Arnold did the same thing in the first film. Like hitting the Predator with a branch and saying 'Bad idea'. Or 'You Are One Ugly Mother...' Danny didn't throw any one liners in the meat-packing plant or in the Subway station before that.
@@ramboraph4life Yeah, because everyone else got the one-liners in the meat-packing plant. The humor is part 1 fit the characters. I already said that. Go watch any war movie based in reality and you'll see the same thing. Go watch Full Metal Jacket. Dudes with a sense of humor marching off to war is normal. Cops in a warzone is a different mindset.
@@ramboraph4life The dudes in part 1 were retired solider. They served their time. You have to understand the setting of part 1. Dudes moving on with their lives being drawn back into conflict. Their characters make sense in that movie. But a cop who faces an L.A. warzone everyday, not the same character. It doesn't work. It's a comedy.
@@ramboraph4life Also, Predator doesn't talk. Arnold was alone in the jungle with an alien he couldn't relate to. Him talking to himself, that's a psychological trick. The point of Arnold's character is he's the best at what he does and knows all the tricks. He's brave. He's been there before, just not with an alien. But the life of a mercenary and the life of a L.A. cop is not the same. Total different mindsets and "professional" means something different to both. Or it should. Arnold was badass. Glover just got his ass kicked and was lucky to have survived until the military dudes showed up and he had no reason to crack jokes and brush it all off like "oh, silly me, just a bad day." He made a meme out of the situation. Arnold was the best of the best going up against something better than a human. And he did it alone. Glover had the whole police force on his side and it doesn't even make sense that he went at it alone. It made sense for Arnold to be a little brave. Arnold was smart and every "mistake" those soldiers made were smart things that most move-watchers couldn't figure out. Like shooting randomly in the woods with all their firepower. Know what that scene meant? It meant they just realized they were not up against a human being. Shooting randomly in the jungle unmasked the alien. They saw it. Figured out it bleeds. That was them doing the smartest thing to make sense of the situation. All the humor in Predator serves a purpose. And, yes, Predator was an ugly motherfucker. Arnold had the Predator pinned down and defeated at that point. He unmasked the alien and saw it's face for the first time. That scene and dialogue made perfect sense. See, you need a brain to get Predator 1, but you got to shut your brain off to get part 2.

That would be awesome thing to do
He got two!! He got twooooooo!!! -Arnold
@@James.Sunderland Hahaha
I smiled when I saw the topic!! SO MANY of us need this list today
I believe 'Big trouble in little china ' was the original Mortal Kombat. (At least the main inspiration)
Very possible. However, those basket-head guys are also in Shogun Assassin.
My list would be (was extremely difficult to make!)::
-Back To The Future
-Forrest Gump
-The Pink Panther Strikes Again
-Star Wars: Episode 5: The Empire Strikes Back
-The Blues Brothers
-Coming To America
-Commando
-Top Gun
-Escape From Alcatraz
-The Abyss
As a big comic book fan and fan of DC and Marvel, I totally agree with you I miss the 8os when we got countless new action flicks and slasher horror flicks with new Freddy and Jason movies all the time lol. I love comic books and geek culture but I'm so burnt out on comic book movies I wouldn't mind it so much if we had more variety in the theater with more cool stuff like new slasher flicks and action films but we don't get much these days mostly direct to DVD or streaming.
The breakfast club and American pie for me
