  • Hi everyone! This was for my JMC 306 class! In this video I showed viewers how to throw a slider, screwball, riser, and drop. These are four basic pitches that can help you fool your friends and family. SO GET THAT W AT THE 4th OF JULY BBQ!

    Hey! Still cant get my screwball down. Always goes straight like a fastball. Going into the step like you said too. Im trying to develop a reverse curveball that goes inside and curves down, and i can get plenty of drop but no armside movement. Any more tips?
    Also, im mostly a submariner that throws a riser that is filthy cuz i either speed it up or slow it down. Slow risers of mine always drop way faster than people think it will and fast risers are just completely unhittable on the inside

      Hold the slider the same way but do your submarine movement and release the ball with your hand with your fingers towards the ground

    Is it ok if the ball is scuffed

    • @phillyjax
      @phillyjax  ปีที่แล้ว

      In some tournaments yes and in some tournaments no. It just depends! For me, I like scuffed balls more

    im a lefty so are the grips different?

      Great question! So the drop and rise will be the same, but I believe the slider and screwball will be flipped. So holes to the left for slider and right for screwball for lefty's. Let me know if that works, I'm genuinely curious if there's some stuff I could experiment with!

    Can you pitch these pitches with any wiffle ball?

    • @phillyjax
      @phillyjax  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've never tried it with anything other than a scuffed regulation wiffle ball. You can get these type of wiffleballs at your local sporting good stores and scuffing them makes the movement soooo much better

      @@phillyjax I scuffed mine but mine is a different kind of wiffle ball. I just can’t seem to get the break I want. Any suggestions?

      @@Os-pw6cb hmmmm... well I'm not sure then, I'd get regulation wiffle balls if possible and try those out
