Thank you TIJ!! It's always wonderful to wake up to a new video. It's incredible to think that from the very beginning of the world God established the Sabbath rest. All the way to Christ, who fulfilled it when he died and was buried and rested from all his work on earth, on the Sabbath.
Thank you for your kind words. Yes, the Sabbath has been with us since the beginning. The Israelites were aware of the Sabbath before Mt Sinai as there was no manna provided on Sabbath. God bless
Nehemiah 9 KJV 14 And madest known unto them thy holy sabbath, and commandedst them precepts, statutes, and laws, by the hand of Moses thy servant: How cool is that? Nobody knew about the sabbath not Adam Noah or Abraham. It wasn’t revealed until the hand of Moses. This shows that the sabbath is part of the law .
The Israelites were instructed to collect manna from Sunday to Friday, with a double portion on Friday, and no manna was provided on the Sabbath. This pattern was indeed established before they reached Mount Sinai. Here are the key points: Manna provision: As described in Exodus 16, God began providing manna to the Israelites in the Desert of Sin, which was between Elim and Sinai (Exodus 16:1). Six-day collection: The Israelites were instructed to gather manna for six days (Exodus 16:4-5). Double portion on Friday: On the sixth day, they were to gather twice as much (Exodus 16:5, 22-23). Sabbath rest: No manna appeared on the seventh day, and the people were instructed to rest (Exodus 16:25-26). Pre-Sinai timing: This manna-gathering pattern was established before the formal giving of the Ten Commandments at Mount Sinai (which occurs in Exodus 20). This episode with the manna does indeed demonstrate that God was reintroducing or reinforcing the concept of the Sabbath to the Israelites before they reached Mount Sinai. It served as a practical lesson in Sabbath observance and trusting in God's provision.
The Sabbath is God's blessing to us! Jesus mentioned, "The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath" - Mark 2:27. BTW - I learned of a beach on the western shore of the northern end of the Gulf of Suez (part of the Red Sea). It truly was hemmed in by mountains, and the shore of the Sinai peninsula could be seen from the western shore. Archeologists say that this was where the miraculous crossing took place.
How interesting that God reinstated His Sabbath *before* He gave the 10 commandments. I have really enjoyed this series about Moses. Would you consider doing a series on Daniel?

It was given at creation, blessed and sanctified before there was sin. It occurs every week on the 7th day
