Ray Charles is my fav guest star out of all because not only he's a wonderful recurring character, every scene he's in especially with Yetta is a delight and he always seemed to have a great time during filming. I will always remember his rendition of My Yiddishe Momma on the show.

a man beyond measure even with his faults. Jamie Foxx beyond one of the greatest screen performances in history from someone who factors in the great english actors of the past century and now

Its actually kind of adorable that Ray Romano and Fran actually did go to the same high school together! Also i agree 1000% with the comment about Ray Charles! I love his music ❤ and he seems just wonderful ❤
So many guest stars, so many icons, so many awesome Fran Fine looks.
Fun fact: Chevy Chase wasn’t acting. He’s genuinely a nightmare of a person behind the scenes.
But it was funny to see him able to make fun of himself at least.

Yes I heard that too! I remembered seeing an interview with Carrie Fisher where she said he was the only co star that made her lose her cool and start cursing him out and stormed of the set! She said he was a nightmare!

I'm always amazed at the stars they're able to get for these shows. Will & Grace was another one. I guess these guest spots must pay really well for relatively little work.
Well that and these were both super popular shows back in the day.
And I think quite a few of these stars genuinely liked these shows :)
It made the show more fun even if you didn’t know who the heck the stars were. They did good acting.
I think the guest spots on the shows like The Nanny and Will and Grace helped "fading stars" get back into the spotlight again, to maybe help them re-start a fading career. I think that is the great value of these shows for those guest stars, not the money paid.
Yes I think the publicity was the main thing for them, sone probably really loved the show too and it was more an honor to guest star. Not sure everyone got that much money specially if the show was more popular than them, unless you where someone like Elizabeth Taylor.
Same thing with Friends. They had a ton of guest stars.
Elizabeth Taylor was the biggest star ever to appear on the show.

The best guest star is Fran of course she’s the ⭐️ of the show. I loved Billy Ray Cyrus , Ray Charles , Joan Van Ark and so many others.
Grandma Yetta was Rob and Laura's neighbor on The Dick Van Dyke Show in the early 1960s.
They actually referenced that in one episode

This show was one of the best. The first time I watched episode # 1 I thought Fran and her mom were Italians. 😊😊

It was wonderful seeing big name stars taking part on the show, made me want to go find old movies the stars had done
That is probably why those stars did guest appearances on shows like The Nanny, to get people interested in their old movies and old records. To revive their fading careers.

The Elton John episode reminds us of the I Love Lucy-William Holden episode.
I have yet to see an outfit that The Nanny wore that wasn't the most gorgeous thing I've ever seen.... Too bad you can't actually find clothes like that in a store. And her wit and humor is unsurpassed!
Some of The Nanny's clothes were much too "overdone" and too loud and too flashy. Sometimes she looked beautiful, especially in the red dress
