I put KW CS's on my 06 STI. They replaced AST 4100's. The AST's were good, but the KW's are magical. The valving is sublime. I didn't expect the ride quality on the street to be so good. I did modify my CS's though. I kept my Vorschlag plates for the extra caster, I used my own spring rates and I tossed the plastic spring perches in lieu of some custom machined pieces made from 7075.
@@mattnucci7716 The springs are Hyperco 650F/600R. I can't remember the lengths. Maybe 7 or 8"? I changed rates when going to the KW's so I would have to dig out one of the old springs to be sure.
@@joeyphoshowey Thanks Joey. I did have to replace the aluminum part of the front plates due to cracking. Even so you can't beat the camber adjustment range or the 6º of caster. At some point I plan on taking one of the old plates to use as a pattern then making them in 4140 chrome-moly steel. Then I'll have them electroless nickel plated. A buddy of mine runs an '05 STI and his Vorschlag plates are all steel and holding up well. They were prototypes or something.
Its amazing how much work you can get done in a shop with a lift and 4 dudes. Compared to my one car garage with 1 jack 🤣🤣🤣. Looks sick gotta love that cusco blue!
Hey Bucky, just a little pointer, just a small one. Any rotating bush such as your inner control arm bushes where that lower brace bolted up should be done with the suspension compressed to where it’ll normally sit. It means the rubbers ‘natural’ position is maintained. If you tighten them then move the suspension it’ll want to tear the rubber quicker. I know, everyone’s a fucking expert. Just trying to help a little man.
I also have KW V3s with on my GC (Full GD swap) and it works amazing! once set up, the comfor is a actually really good, my old STi pinks and Cuscos are not even half as good as these babies. You definitely chose the right one!
so i learned a gc h brace will actually fit a gd if you cut tabs...interesting. im assuming you swapped the sway bar and lateral links to cusco since you had to trailing arms because whiteline doesn't make them? eitherway the color in the rear looks nice on a white car. car looked like it road much better without any adjust just from seeing you in the car. curious to see how long it is before you change the front lower control arm bushings
Buck YEah cant wait for a comparison between the KW and the Tenin street z's. Mainy cause im ballin on a budget and I think i want the street Z for my o2 bugeye. Great vids man PEACE!
Is there a specific reason you went with a Cusco sway bar and tossed out the Whiteline? What I've heard about the Whitelines is you have to apply lubricant regularly to their bushings.
So how are the clubs for ya Buck...? Cant wait for a one month review to decide if I go with the Kdubs or the Fortune 500s.... Thanks for some of THE BEST content on the TubYous
BuckYeah I didn’t know that. KW it definitely is in that case. After watching your video about the lighter wheels I swapped my 53lbs OEM set for a 41lbs set of Methods with WRC size Michelin tires (235/40ZR18). Holy cow that STI rips now! People that put these craze wide wheels on these cars have no idea what they are missing out on.

Without poking back through the old vids, which Teins were you running? You mentioned initial impression on the KWs was better off for a daily, but for those of us with less need for NVH reduction I'm wondering how they stack up?
