I think the main reason why the show's gone downhill so much is because a lot of the writers who worked on it back then have all gone and been replaced with ones who are obsessed with sensationalism, and characters changing their personalities left right and centre, Barry Woodward wrote this episode, who in turn also wrote fro Brookside in the 90s which explains why the storylines were much better written than they are today.

Johnny and Stuart went to the pub and also plus Johnny and Stuart stoped Steven Hay going to his best mates funeral that’s would be great if you have got them
Agreed...the amount of deaths and serial killers now is ridiculous. I liked when they had the 'grittier' storylines on Hollyoaks Later. No wonder a lot of older cast members don't want to come back.
