PILI - Footprints of karavali tigers with English Subtitle
Pili Nalike, also known as the Tiger dance, is a divine tradition with cultural importance that originated in Karnataka, India. It is a folk dance performed by the people of the Tuluva community during special occasions like festivals and weddings. The dance is based on the mythology of Goddess Durga, who is believed to have taken the form of a tiger to defeat a demon. The dance involves performers painted and dressed as tigers, dancing to the beats of traditional music played by accompanying drummers. Pili Nalike is not only a form of entertainment but also a way of preserving and passing on cultural traditions from one generation to another. The dance is an important part of the Southern part of Karnataka's cultural identity and a source of pride for them.
