bro casually collecting our ministers like pokemon cards. probably even meets more than us normal singaporeans hahahaha but we like it, justice for yishun
Eating nasi padang with your hands.. Ultimate legend! Hats off you my Japanese friend. I don't even have a single Chinese Singaporean friend who bothers eating with their hands but you have ultimately pulled off the most classic of methods to eat nasi padang. WITH YOUR RIGHT HAND! I appreciate your appreciation for the culture for eating nasi padang.. You are one person I really admire as a content creator! All the best to your next stage as a Dad!
My dad who lived in Chinatown told me that my grandparents would organize day trips to Chong Pang when he was little. Chong Pang was THE shopping hub of the north where he could buy the food, books and other items that were imported over land from Malaysia. Even now he still associates chong pang to be a great place to feast and shop.
I remember you interviewed an elderly japanese lady, who was married to Singaporean in the 70’s. Also, you met up with 4 young and energetic Japanese wives who also share with you stories about living in Yishun. 😄
This is interesting.. politics aside.. Ghib Ojisan can visit every town (both PAP and Opposition) in Singapore and interview their MP there to know about their history. Every neighborhood and town got its vibes.. old or new.. it is a good way to let people living here or abroad to know Singapore better..
When i went to college at bugis area, my friends wanted to pray at the chinese temple. Beside is the indian temple and they also pray there also. My friends were chinese indo and chinese thai. The gods must be very similar. I just thought it was a cool experience as a muslim
Interesting to see the combined temple, in land scarce Singapore perhaps we should move towards this model where all faiths can be consolidated into a multi purpose venue
Ghib , you gotta come back to yew tee to check out the new facilities that were built for the community. They are located under the MRT tracks between yew tee mrt and Kranji mrt stations
Yeah, most people will only catch a glimpse of their MP during door to door visit or usually every 5 years. I think he is very lucky because all the MPs were waiting for him. I wonder why he suddenly thought of revisiting Yishun and his love for Yishun has grown again. Maybe he should move to Yishun.
Firstly, Nasi Padang is not Economy Rice so don't compare it's prices lol! Also Ghib bro took all the meat dishes he wanted to try. I'm not surprised at the price at all. Great to see you revisiting some places in Singapore after a couple of years. There sure will be changes since it's Singapore haha
In Singapore it not only in Yishun and Chong Pang estate have/had it past stories. There were/are other regional/sector/estate had/have it own past/present different/similar faclities/activities/parks for foods/drinks/fun..etc with past true stories too.
Yishun is a very nice place but not the MP or Minister there. BEcause they want to destroy all the Yishun green areas , even ORTO and Bah Soon Pah heritage places they alsowant to destroy to cramp new flats here. and of all things..destroy the Chong Pang market to build a CPID (which is a hawker centre inside a Community Centre) so can put all the MP face in the CC whcih is sad.
I once commented this when people joked about Yishun few years back. For shopping, Yishun have 3 malls, Northpoint, J9, Wistera. For healthcare, we have 2 Hospitals, one polyclinic. For leisure, we have Lower Seletar Reservoir, Yishun Park, Yishun Pond beside KTPH. We have Safra and a country club. Plus we have Yishun dam for xiao beng xiao lian to go paktor, what's not to like about Yishun?
@@SimonMelvin-s6o True! Another excellent additional to Yishun for leisure. Bowling, KTV, Orchid Live seafood from bah soon pah originally. Yishun is Florida of Singapore is an overdone meme. But I hope all Yishuners are able to laugh along whenever we get memed tbh. Most of the time it isn't mean spirited.
I've been in Yishun almost all my life and I've never heard of the saying or rumour that Yishun is "dangerous". Where did this saying or rumour even come from?
Hi Ghib,, the coba coba you read it Ko ba Koba you make me spill my water 🤣🤣,, its as it is coba when you read it,, i think i went to chongpang just to quee to buy Toto it was famous there,, if i m not mistaken 😅,, anyway thanks for the tour,, maybe will bring a tourist there hehe,, Huat Ah Ghib,, 👍🍶😅
Ok jokes aside, I'm genuinely surprised at the amount of food stores there, yeah it's Yishun but the human-factor aside, the stores really do have some "feel" to them

Did you happen to see someone wearing a wrestling belt filming himself at HDB void deck?
I understood that reference!
Yeah that’s the most famous personality in Yishun and yet he was not invited to this video.
Well well well
Dang, even got to eat with a minister.
Thanks Ghib! You never fail to entertain. Plus, I never knew there exists an Indonesian cafe at blk 156.
Coba Coba served delicious nasi padang. There's another one at Beatty road. More central location.
Yishun has its charm. The neighbourhood got it all from reservoir fishing to hawker foods to shops to nice environment

This is a brilliant video! Very much showcasing the communities in Singapore!
I love the toilet sign at the hawker centre @ 5:10 ...very cute! Great as always Ghib 😁
I thought I was the only one who noticed it xD
I could literally tell it was chong pang from the thumbnail lol. This area was a big part of my childhood
I love Yishun!! Truly underrated and also misunderstood 🤣
Wow, Minister Shanmugam is so genuinely friendly and cordial when you meet him!
And Shan's eyes are on everyone who's watching this channel.
I remember you interviewed an elderly japanese lady, who was married to Singaporean in the 70’s. Also, you met up with 4 young and energetic Japanese wives who also share with you stories about living in Yishun. 😄
Thank you for this video of my beloved hometown! Mee Rebus at Coba Coba is also very delicious! 😋
Thks I like mee rebus
Back in the 1970s, they're the Community Centres,
Today they're Community Clubs and much grander

He might go to an opposition ward but you will never see the MP. I can understand that because he is running a business.
When i went to college at bugis area, my friends wanted to pray at the chinese temple. Beside is the indian temple and they also pray there also. My friends were chinese indo and chinese thai. The gods must be very similar. I just thought it was a cool experience as a muslim
I went to yishun recently and its honestly easy to forget how massive it is
love ur vids!!! i always go to yishun

it's crazy how recognizable chong pang is just from that tiny screen cap
Ghib , you gotta come back to yew tee to check out the new facilities that were built for the community. They are located under the MRT tracks between yew tee mrt and Kranji mrt stations
Welcome to Yishun! It’s a great place! Love it
I stayed in Yishun for 36 years 😊
Yishun is a beautiful place. Should have explored more when I was there last year.
i miss this sort of neighbourhood exploring kind of video
nice place might visit when I pass by Singapore next time

im just so baffled how he got to meet a minister
The most dangerous place could be the safest too as it is governed by "Justice Bao" (Minister of Law) depending on which side of the law u stand. 😂
Chong pang my favourite ❤❤
Wah bro next time can appear on our NDP Liao 🤣🤣💪
Yes Yishun , Singapore’s most misunderstood area

Hope you will also have a tour of Bukit Panjang
Eat with MP! 😊
Welcome back to the most dangerous Yishun 😂
Yishun isnt a place for the weak-minded . Having stayed here (and survived ) for the over 40 years had made me into a hardened street veteran
Yishun is the best and it's not even an argument
I second that!!
Bedok ftw😅

I used to live in Yishun 30 years ago in one of the house and moved to Australia
I understand why you'd wanna move to Australia if you've been in Yishun for 30 years..
Hi Ghib, you can eat!!😋
Ghib come to Yew Tee. There are new facilities built.
1:09 it's mentioned like ちょnot こ , but accent difference, understandable....
Based on your title, I could already guess the area, and I was right.
malay is cuba-cuba. also same meaning
Bak kwa 🤤🤤🤤
Yishun redeemed!
Yishun is the best cos the president lived there before in hdb block
Oh chong pang is farm last time didn't know 👀no wonder got people bring life cow home into hdb 😂
Is nice and interesting places
It's like Gotham city, but with better food 😂
I've been in Yishun almost all my life and I've never heard of the saying or rumour that Yishun is "dangerous". Where did this saying or rumour even come from?
the news, specifically mothership. sheeps on social media echoing the same etc etc.
@@sidewalkslam And what about Yishun that was dangerous? Did mothership mention anything about that?
Hello ghib
SG somewhat like a hair salon, they gradually thin your hair. 😂🎉
This nasi padang is very expensive WOW.
why everything looks so old...
How can yishun be dangerous when the MP of yishun is a minister of home affairs and minister of law...any where can be dangerous except yishun 😂
can ask for fork and spoon at the Halal restaurant?
In bahasa its pronounced as “ Cho-Ba” translate ‘Try’
一昔前にゲイランが一番危ない界隈やと聞いた事あるぞ。
Two years already ?!
1:26 Whoa all of that for $21.50? If you ask me i feel its abit too pricy imo
Nasi padang tends to be on the pricier side
Too rich too much
Did you take some of the dishes out from the plate and da poa for your wife❤ hahah🎉🎉

Wow, you able to get sham in your video! 😀
Yishun again ??
Yishun is hidden gem. Pls don’t tell ppl 😜
❤
Residents don't like KS. We think he is always up to no good.
イーシュンが危ないって言われるのって、日本だと福岡が修羅の国って言われるのに似てる??
hello that duck rice is from ghim moh, YISHUN DONT CLAIM OK
🤣🤣🤣
Did you wash your hands? 🤣
It's a turn off if you're featuring politicians but still thank you for show casing Singapore in your TH-cam videos 🙂
🙂👍👍
Are you kidding me😮😮😮..$21 for Nasi Padang... That is totally CUT THROAT prices!!!!
What is wrong Cost of living in Singapore!!!!!!
I don’t think you’ve tried economic rice where a whole steam fish costs $5.
That plate of Nasi Padang has a chicken thigh, squid and other stuff.
If you cook, you know how expensive sotong is now.
@@neutroyaz Obviously he doesnt … or maybe he caught seafood himself.
I think the most priciest item on his plate is the beef rendang
Ah yes, its Singaporean Florida

i hate yishun
