1st time seeing or hearing of Drew was in 2001, when DLS played LB POLY. Poly had Herschel Dennis, Manuel Wright, Winston Justice, Mercedes Lewis, Darnell Bing as starters. They were backed by Freddie Parish, Junior Lemauu, etc. DLS Had Derek Landri and Drew. Well Drew became a national household name after that night and he ran on them again 2002.
During 2007-2012 there was the debate between who was the best HB in the league. Jones-Drew or Adrian Peterson? Looking back, Jones Drew still was the better HB!! Too bad he got injured so early in his career otherwise we’d be talking about him making it in the HOF.
I love Jones-drew but there was nobody and I mean nobody on prime Adrian Peterson’s level at that time and as great as Jones-drew was, Jamal Charles, Arian foster, Brian Westbrook etc were all elite just not the #1 guy ap was by far
Maurice Jones-Drew was a great player for the Jaguars. He was a beast.
