In this video, we’re going to talk about the amazing benefits of nutritional yeast. Eating yeast can sound like a bad thing. Many people don’t want to consume it because it sounds like it will give them candida or an infection. But that’s not what nutritional yeast is.
Nutritional yeast is very nutritional, and you can consume it without any worries of it giving you an infection. But, it’s important to get the non-fortified version of nutritional yeast to avoid consuming synthetic vitamins.
    Nutritional yeast benefits:
    1. Complete amino acid profile
    2. B-vitamins
    3. Minerals (zinc, phosphorus, selenium, molybdenum)

@Dr Berg, many thanks for all your wonderful videos. Of late, I have started consuming non-fortified nutritional yeast. But experience burping shortly after taking a spoonful of yeast. I have seen posts on the web that nutritional yeast may contain MSG because of the manufacturing process and therefore it acts as an Excitotoxin. Kindly clarify preferably through a video.

I'm completely hooked on this stuff. During my weekly 24 hour fast this is the first thing that I miss. The taste is just great. I don't really know if it's the nutritional yeast that makes me feel better as I've been changing a lot of health-related stuff lately. But the fact that I can just eat something that tastes great and is healthy is amazing. Sure you can do a lot of stuff with it but heating is not recommended as it will neutralize a lot of the vitamins, or so I believe. So I just take a spoonful and roll it in my mouth until it dissolves. I wouldn't recommend chewing it. As Dr. Berg said, it will get between your teeth.

I have been adding it to home made chicken soup for years. I consider it an essential seasoning for chicken soup. I just recently discovered that it is great for creamed asparagus. When my mom baked bread, she let me break off a piece of the yeast cake. I loved it, so it was easy for me to immediately want to find out about nutritional yeast. AND I loved it the first time I tastED IT. Here is a quick breakfast idea. Wash a couple of kale leaves, and pat them dry. Roughly chop into a buttered, or Olive oiled skillet. I prefer to let some of the pieces get a bit of a crunch, but just a quick saute is enough, unless you prefer a few little pieces to get a little brownish tint.. Scamble one egg, and pour it over the kale, then as it begins to get crepe like, sprinkle on some cheddar, and or mozzerella. THEN a sprinkle of Nutritional Yeast. Gently fold it over, and allow the cheeses to melt. Flip it over, and let it set a few seconds, depending on your . desire od doneness. I love the crunchy chewyness, and I don't add salt, it isn't necessary. I don't even use toast with it. I can think of all kinds of uses for nutritional yeast. On pasta dishes, over a baked, buttered potato, on salads, and in soups. I remember my 91 year old neighbor, a very good cook. She would melt butter in a skillet, and then sprinkle in some breadcrumbs to add to the top of her recipes. She said it gave the dish a send off. She was right, and that nutritional yeast does the same, and it is healthier.

I've been buying Sari Nutritional Yeast for a little over a year and just put a tablespoon in with my kale, spinach and beet top smoothie. I make two smoothies each day. The firs smoothie is with my first meal, usually sometime between 12pm to 2pm, with 3 to 5 cups of a combination of the above mentioned veggies, a half tablespoon of nutritional yeast and a dropper full of organic liquid stevia from Trader Joe's. The 2nd smoothie I drink about 45 minutes before dinner because it fills me up. I can't even taste the nutritional yeast. I pay about $16 on Amazon for it and it last a while. I used to take a teaspoon or two a day, but I needed more B's so I bumped it up to a tablespoon. Good stuff!

I'd just like to tell everyone that nutritional yeast is delicious. Most people say it tastes like cheese and I would absolutely agree. Put it on top of your broccoli, on top of zucchini noodles or anything you'd typically like to sprinkle cheese on. I avoid cooking it into recipes because I'm not sure if that would affect the activity so I just use it as a topping.

At your advice, I did start taking this. My bottle does call it Brewers Yeast. It is unfortified, non GMO, and made from sugar beet molasses. I got the powdered form rather than the flakes. It sure doesn't have a pleasant taste, but taking it dry from a spoon isn't going to work for me. Mixing it in a smoothie was difficult too, due to taste. So, it's one of those things that I mix with water and get it down as quickly as possible. I appreciate you recommending this as a great source of nutrition, and a less expensive way of getting the B vitamins. It's one of those nutritional products that had a noticeable effect quickly. Thank you!

Oh wait! I just realized you are using Brewer's Yeast - ack! This is not the same as Nutritional Yeast! Find a health food store and ask for Nutritional Yeast. It should be available in large or small flake options. Also, watch Dr. Berg's the video again and see what he says about Brewer's Yeast. He explains quite clearly that they are not the same. Hopefully you will give it another try. Nutritional Yeast is awesome and quite tasty! Brewer's..... not so much.

I realize I"m sorta late to the party. I'm re-learning up on nutritional yeast. I learned about it years ago from the lady next door, who used both it and brewers yeast and was the healthiest person I'd ever known. Her cat had a teaspoon a day in her food, and that cat had the most beautiful coat. I'm struggling with a rather amazing list of issues, which started when I turned 50 (almost 10 years ago), then first breast cancer, then an atypical stroke (from taking a med to prevent more breast cancer), then terrible spinal issues - enter untreated childhood scoliosis, and hip problems from it, and some surgery. So, my point is that I can use all the help I can get! LOL We really like it on popcorn and I started eating it in cottage cheese. And given the amazing powerhouse of nutrition it is in 3 tablespoons a day, it's super easy to work into your meals or just eat, as you described. And it's very affordable. All hail this delicious and tremendously helpful yeast!
