I think it's because the chest is harder to hit. There are the legs covering it and you can't see what's happening when under his chest. In dragon phase he has to hit the head to deal enough elemental damage for the escaton.
You do 105 with all buffs on. Once you lose power coating and evasion mantle, damage is a lot similar to head damage. Thats why i try to go for it in phase 1 and then not so much. Also head is easier to hit and take more ele damage which i need for topple
Hey man which augments do you use on the fatalis how build from last vid? I was thinking 2 affinity to reach base 30% so it gets to 100% with agitator and WEX?

I use to run stygian zinogre investigations 4 decos minimum, since capture gap is at 12 500hp, it's pretty easy to farm. You can also go for Gold Rathian and Silver Los investigations, they doesn't change map on elder's recess so it's easy to kill/capture them ;)

You take an elemental focused weapon against a fight which heavily encourages the use of elemental damage... and finish in under 6 minutes relying only on raw damage. Praise be to the god that is Fatalis!

Isn't there a element cap, wouldn't dragon attack 6 go over the element cap?
In iceborne, cap is higher. Very few weapon hit the cap with ele boost 6
