That Aki clip gets me every time man. It's amazing that it's also her that recieved such an inspiring and warm thanks from her fans.
She might not have the biggest following in Hololive but she has an incredible loyal and sweet following that absolutely love her and appreciate her for being her.
Yes she is not as eccentric as a Perkora, Marine, a Subaru or a Gura but she is herself and Hololive wouldn't be the same without her. Glad she got to hear this and I am sure stuff like this clip helps her reaffirm why she wanted to be a Hololive idol.
As an idol to be able to shine light to people in the dark and make their life bright again is something amazing and I know Aki feels the same way.
I still remember when she felt underwhelmed because she had one of the lowest subscriber counts on Hololive and the Kaigainiki banded together to mass subscribe and help her
I have a feeling that's why Hololive will never get rid of HoloFes. It gives the girls a chance to see that the names on their screens don't just say they like their content but truly want to support them through thick and thin.
Sometimes girls like this just needs a little push, and Aki got that little push she needed to continue what she's doing when she's about to give up.
And Jimmy really is such a nice dude. Talked to him a few times and he always seems sincere and willing to help if he can.

Aki clip hit me hard as I was in a similar situation. I lost my job in covid years, lost my father, and started to struggle with health issues. Staying awake till morning became a norm, and suicidal thoughts became frequent visitors. Then I found Pikamee, as her stream times coincided with my midnight stays; for the first time in a while, I forgot everything and even smiled foolishly at her antics. As a mixed myself, I found her problems relatable, her courage was contiguous, and her being true to herself was awe-inspiring. So, little by little, I step forward; I'm still asocial, and my night owl lifestyle has become a part of me, but I'm currently writing a novel, and first time in a decade, I'm looking forward to the future. Maybe one day, my work also can inspire some poor souls and give them a much-needed pat on the back, a voice like hers to help them in their dire times, because, y'know, it's really heartbreaking to see how many people are dying due to the lack of an encouraging word. Thank you, Pikamee. Thank you, Nagzz. Thank you, Aki. And thank you, chat.
I may not know you personally but the internet has made it possible to share experiences I too shared a similar fate as you but I'm glad we are both here. Not sure if you'll see this or not but I'm grateful you're still here and I look forward to reading your book. Please keep doing your best whatever that may look like 😊

There was a reason I did everything I could to avoid watching "Thank you Pikamee". I wasn't sad when during her final stream, felt like a friend who was just moving into another part of the city or something, but that compilation wrecked me hard.
It quite ironic that Aki saved an overseas fan because the holive reddit and overseas fans almost literally saved her career at one point she was like months away from giving up and graduating cause she couldn't get her channel to grow i think she was the last member to hit 100ksubs while others were pushing close to millions and she probably felt like it was her fault and the overseas guys came and helped her reach new heights and new audiences that enjoy her content so to see that effort come back from the same group of fans that once saved her. . . Her heart exploded cause mine did watching it

I wasn't much of a Pikamee viewer (not that I disliked her, I enjoyed what I saw), but goddamn that clip made me tear up. She will be missed.
I watched a little Kizuna Ai back when she first appeared (and TH-cam still allowed community subs), but the clip that pulled me into the rabbit hole in mid 2020 was Pikamee and Tomoshika's "let's kill da ho". After that, I got algorithm-fed kabukibuki's Hololive crash course video and watched it just to see how awkward it would be. Instead, it was really funny and interesting, and I've been falling ever since. (To my own detriment, mainly, but it's been too fun and interesting to stop ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )
So thank you Pikamee, for being a light in the darkness, and a huge part of the reason VTubing has become a worldwide community and industry.
That same one definitely pulled me more fully into the rabbit hole around the same time.

That aki clip had me in tears as well. Aki is such a sweet adorable ray of sunshine. With everything she's been through she definitely deserves all the love and support she gets
iirc there is a video explaining that Aki's biggest fanbase and starting point was actually the Oversea Bros immense love and support, if I had to guess correctly she probably has one of the highest Oversea follower fanbase vs all the other HoloJP girls, which really shows just how much Aki is beloved by a lot of people

@@edenromanov Towa has more fans in general so that could be the difference but iirc Aki still holds the most by percentage. Towa and Aki had similar starts where they had a tough start (aki not getting a following and towa loosing JP followers due to a guy's voice on stream) so they look like anomalies when compared to the rest of hololive.
I'm not sure if it was a Nagzz discovers with Fan or not but he already went through that and knows
@@LeonardoTheMomo I know, my reply to Eden mentions this. I didn't feel like typing out the whole story since it wasn't necessary unless they didn't ask in a reply.
My point was only about who had more EN followers based on % of their fanbase because Aki has 500k less subs than Towa who is at 1.23m. 200k in Towa's fanbase equals 16.7% while 130K in Aki's fanbase would equal 17.3% which to me says Aki has the larger overseas fanbase.
I just don't know the numbers to do the proper calculations nor do I care enough to look for them because at the end of the day where the fans live doesn't matter to me.

Must say I agree, there have been more than a few dark times in the last few years and very often the warmth, laughs and smiles of my favorite vtubers or streamers has been enough to keep me moving forward. Not quite a replacement for RL to be sure, but often enough to make a difference.
Aki getting tons of love shows how much she has made people happy.
The last part with Pika killed me though...
It's been more than a week, and the hole where Pikamee left is still there, never to be buried. Some of Pikarmy still hope that she just taking a long, long hiatus, before being resurrected to another persona. Either way, if she really decided to come back, at least she knows that there's a community that will welcome her with big applause.

True. Even tho I've watched her very little live on stream like longest I've watched her was L4D2 stream. I think I've watched around 3-4h since I do like L4D2. And just Pika being chaotic. Mostly I've watched her through clips. Gonna miss her. She was one Vtuber that wasn't just absurd and was very very wholesome.
Jeez this episode was a rollercoaster of emotions. Am happy for Aki. Also still incredibly sad about Pikamee.

I never watched more than clips from Pikamee, but she was still one of my favorites. She was one of the first clips I ever saw of Vtubers, and one of the first that got me into the rabbit hole. o7 you will be missed.

Aki's story came full cycle. Kaigai-niki helped her when she was in troubles, and now she hellps them when times get tough.
For me, Pikamee was my light, for a particularly bad period in my life. I will miss her.
Aki's story of persevering is great and hearing someone being inspire by her just makes it more amazing.
Also, Pan's arttag "Palaman" means "anything you spread on a sandwhich".

The Pikamee part at the end would have been even more tear jerking if they took her theme (or just generally assigned her a happy sounding motif that reminds you of her, maybe something she sang before), slow it down, played it on piano solo, harmonized it with a string quartet in the background for the chorus, have a female vocalist sing the lyrics in the same melody and tempo as the piano, book end the song with the main motif played on solo piano.
Should roughly have the same effect as all the sadder sounding variants of 'The Big Dango Family' from Clannad.
I'm glad Pan got a spotlight in this video, she's incredibly AMAZING! I'm still trying to work out my schedule to watch her streams. Bless Pan for birthing one of my favorite vtubers to date!

Man of the v-tubers I've seen come and go these past few years, Pikamee has hit the hardest. I don't know if she's got other things she's doing now, but if she's down I'd sure love to see her pull a Kson and show up in another form one day.

I was in a very bad mental state after graduation due to being blamed all the time even though I have lazy thesis groupmates. I couldnt even draw back then and when I did draw, it was for our prototype and there was a possibility that I'd be blamed for the design so for a time, I hated drawing which is my only destressing method. Hololive got me through tough moments, even more so when Goomba debuted.
For some reason it started raining in my room during the last few minutes of this video, but I can't figure out why.

9:20 there was a point in 2019 that I just straight up dropped in Online Classes and left the school coz it was too much for me that time, then I discovered Fubuki!! but I couldn't watch her stream coz she's Japanese and I only know 1st grader level of Japanese, then Holo ID debuted I was actually on Iofi and Risu's debut! Iofi gave me a boost in life so I started practicing more and more at drawing, then I discovered Koe!! He welcomed me in his community and as a thank you gift, I gave him 3 drawing and 2 animations, also gave 1 drawing for Faith, I was like "I can make people happy?? me??!" I was thankful for Iofi and all of Hololive for giving me something to live for, to make people smile through my art
From the character concept artists, to the riggers, with the work to find the right streamer through auditions, scouting. A team brought them to us. The Talents bring them to live. And in many ways, Inspire their fans. Whom bring inspiration back. Clippers, artists, writers, shitposters, meme makers, video creators, and so much more. These communities, the Talents and fans keep giving back to each other. I love the people I interact with here and in other groups.
Pikamee's graduation really makes me sad, since her streams is one of the few places thats so chill and wholesome, i will miss the times where i watch her streams and vods while playing games,

2020 really hit my family hard. Unemployment and lockdowns were the main issue.
It was the Pikamee, Calli, Gura and Korone that were the first few Vtubers that helped me stray away from self -deletion thoughts just to leave life insurance money to my family.
Vtubers really have not realized how much of a positive impact they made.

Pikamees graduation straight up made me cry even though i barely even watched her outside of clips. she simply is one of kind. whenever i feel down i can relate on clips of her to cheer me up. its so sad shes "gone" now but well she has to do whatever she thinks is the best for her and if she feels like being a v tuber aint that anymore she has to do something else and i respect that and i wish her all the best for her future endeavors.
whats stupid about these fighting game pros is that they all do this thing where they just spam up, down, up, down movement which is just exploiting the movement system. They optimize the fun out of the game in a way it wasn't intended. Just like when you find out that the best speedrunners are all fucking cheaters.
