  • How to take the GO Train and GO Bus from Toronto to Niagara Falls? I took the GO train and GO bus on a short trip last year, and overall my experience was very good. The trains and buses were on time, clean, convenient, and comfortable. You can get a ticket from the GO website, via rail, or simply use your presto card. #livingincanada #travelcanada #gotransit #gotrain
    In this video I’ll share with you how long it took to take the GO train and GO bus from Toronto to Niagara falls, how much the ticket costs, and my overall experience using the GO transit.
    *UPDATE: I made this video when I just arrived in Canada, so I wasn't aware that I mispronounced 'Niagara'. Many of my dear viewers have brought this to my attention, and now I know. I hope that despite this, you'll still be able to enjoy the video and find it helpful. I recognize comments that contain genuine criticism as such, and appreciate these, as they help me to improve my videos. But I won't hesitate to delete any comments that are mean-spirited and mocking.

    Awesome video! I love the tiny little jokes haha :-)
    As for the “washroom” debate: personally, I just use whatever comes to mind. No one really minds or notices if you say “restroom” haha - I personally wouldn’t interchange the two previous words with “bathroom” though… it’s like equating よくしつ and a トイレ.
    The GO train is the one service I actually rely on to get across the city on time (with WiFi too!). I know that you took the GO train (+bus) to Niagara, but their service from the edge (between Toronto and Mississauga) to the suburbs is a thousand times more reliable than taking the TTC. Sure, it’s a tad more expensive, but it sure beats riding on hard plastic seats with only 2 restrooms on the entirety of line 2 (TTC).
    Having said that, it’ll definitely be exciting once GO trains go all electric (in a decade, that is… lol)!

      Yes, if you're planning on visiting many places in Toronto, the Presto card is definitely useful. Note that presto does not work in Montreal. You can use it for the GO train to niagara falls, but I would recommend the weekend day pass/pass instead if you travel on the weekend.

      Yes I recently took a trip from Union too, it's a really nice station. The other day when I took the bus-train combination it just happened to be the best connection for my schedule. But I do believe there's a direct connection, will definitely try that next time!

    • @mrbillhilly343
      @mrbillhilly343 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, I used the GO Train when I was in Toronto back in 2018, the Transit officers heard my Aussie accent & became tour guides, in a way, for me. They helped me get to know a bit about how to get around & better ways for ticketing. The staff at the counter in Union Station were very helpful & friendly, gave me maps & told me about sweet places to visit in Toronto also. It's a shame Toronto doesn't make their city more of a tourist-friendly like Sydney, Singapore, Tokyo & San Francisco; like more places open later hours for tourists. There were so many bars there with very limited opening hours. I was there in the winter time, so many people want to get warm. The trams in Toronto were great also, bit slippery on the feet with the ice & a few too many drinks in me.

    NIAGARA
    Don't get bogged-down with the 'correct' or so-called 'incorrect' pronunciations for Niagara.
    Much of this is modern seemingly politically correct right-on tosh.
    The world over the pronunciation has been Nigh-ag-ih-ra for decades and nobody has bothered at all.
    This unnecessary correction of pronunciation is totally un-called for and is a phenomena of the snowflake generation, and those who would seem to see it as their role to constantly correct us.
    Nobody is, or should be offended by such inocuous foolishness as telling us how to pronounce something we have been correctly pronouncing for ever and a day.
