I always leave my tank as open as possible when blowing the dirt off my pump!
It's super important to collect any extra dirt in the bottom of the tank!

you guys make this stuff look so easy! my main pump just up and died this Monday :( CAT312A Excavator, with K3V63DT main pump. I wish I could have afforded to buy a brand new pump, instead, I can to settle for a rebuild of my pump.

Thanks. Ignore all the armchair warrior critics. I wipe out entire tank before fill anyway with lint free rags. I am sure you cleaned out all the metal shavings in tank.
Heavy equipment forums seem to always have hot shot snotty comments .
I rebuilt Rexroth and Kawasaki pumps. Very often its the bronze shoes with are on end of pistons which ride on swash plate fail first. If you start to see high bronze content and rising iron in oil sample get pump done before it fails sending iron steel chromium shavings into entire system which is impossible to get out. Very often debris tend to settle out in lower drive motors and wet brake brake. They sell mini filters to put on lines to catch metal before it can travel. Always drain all cylinders lines tank swing motor then run machine. Then do it again .I put rare earth magnet s on tank near return and suction also in tank. This catches iron steel if you had total failure.

Would love to have seen the machine moving with old pump, then do same movements with new pump to see the difference.
My Jcb js240 starts of fast and strong, but after 3 hours of operating it gets really slow, not sure if it’s a pump issue or an oil issue.
feels like internal leaking in the motor/pump, maybe a symptom for the wearing of motor/pump parts

The repair process of A catastrophic failure of a hydraulic component on an excavator should include cleaning of all hoses, disassembly of all acuators, replacement of the oil cooler, and inspection of the valves. Just throwing a new pump, oil and filters at it is far from adequate. Unless it's goin to the auction. Then it's someone else's problem.
Wesley Cooper hp screens and case drain filters should catch all the debris. Clean out suction check main and secondary reliefs and change pump. Oh and if you don’t believe me talk to liebherr, hitachi, cat and Komatsu about it. No need to go overboard.

😅🤣😂.....iv used a kidney lube pump before but never removed all the hoses to clean them wtf...idk who your customers are but apparently they've never been thru a pump failure before....most complain your going over the top if you put caps on the lines
@@manofausagain Those steps ARE what Hitachi recommends. Hitachi excavators don't have case drain filters.

There will be test points on the pump these usually have a little cap take that off and place pressure gauge on the specs will be in the workshop manual for that machine

They should be changing tires on semi's not dealing with hydraulic systems. Also no catch pan for the hydraulic oil.
I'm glad that I am not the only one who thought that those covers should be put back on the filters, just to protect them from dirt egress during the changeout process.

loses points for spending a fortune on new pump and nothing on washing machine beforehand, open hose ends, open tank fits filthy fittings to new pump, perfect recipe for another early failure.
+MrMyboymax Better service can always be provided, and mistakes are made in the field every day. Your correct that you must purge the entire system of debris but that does not get you out of the woods. The real problem is the older components on the machine that are causing the problem to worry about and what the root issue really is. That is the difference between real service men and "Parts swappers".

+Mahabub Alam How do you get rid of dust in the field when the machine is stuck and won't move? Not the ideal location to provide the service, but if you know equipment, you can't take it to the shop in every situation.

I appreciate your posistion and don't support all the techniques the mechanic did during the install but this is a customer and not our mechanics as we do not install. Every one has their own way and he also did not show that he flushed the oil cooler and picked all the oil lines!
