I was told that, I could use my gtc for everything and to hold on to the receipt and turn them in at the end so I can get reimbursed. I don't have to use my own money i can use the Government travel card to do this.

That is correct, however in my specific case I didn’t have a GTC because this was my first PCS because I had just came from tech school.

We are currently in limbo with all the covid19 stuff, my husband has orders but we are still not sure if we can go. It was a blessing youll got out and moving beforehand.

Wow, I’m sorry to hear that you guys are in that limbo phase. I have a lot of friends who are in the exact same place as you. It will all happen in due time. Yes, I was so thankful that we literally just made the move a couple weeks before everything shut down. I wish you guys the best!

Great video and inspiring to me. I’m starting my move by myself to Oklahoma Monday and I’m not sure where to get my car weighed at. Help?

Destini Hamilton thank you very much and congratulations on your move. I hope you ha w safe travels. Regarding the scales, stop at at a Pilot gas station. They have certified weight scales and it’s pretty easy. Safe travels my friend.

I’m gonna be performing the ditty move going from Cali-Montana and its going to be my first time driving a truck like that. I’m currently still looking at which moving service would be the best. Do you have any tips that you could share?

Yes, I would recommend Penske company. They gave a a great deal and had a military discount with it. For me it was 7 days with unlimited miles for like $700….I drove from Ga to NV and it did great.
Remember to weigh the truck empty at a certified weigh station and then weigh it after it’s completed loaded. The total moving weight is very important in processing your paperwork to Finance & TMO. Keep all your receipts and have them ready to turn in. This helps them process your reimbursement faster.
Also, remember DLA….that’s extra money for you. Dislocation Allowance -
The purpose of DLA is to partially reimburse a member for the expenses incurred in relocating the household on a PCS, ordered for the Government's convenience, or incident to an evacuation.

@@JoelLong that’s an amazing deal actually, I was looking into uhaul or upack but Penske seems like the way to go. For your POV did you just drive it the entire way also or tow it on the truck? Because I was looking into what would be better and more cost efficient

We moved Feb 21st, but finally able to edit and post from our move. I’m glad we moved just before all this took off.
