So many threads on user forums about adding driving lamps, and all it takes is this. Literally cured my itch to fix them just by bringing them up a bit.
Thanks, this was very helpful, exactly what I've been looking for! My dealer tried to adjust 2 times. It was either not enough or they adjusted the wrong way. It was too scary to drive at night! I managed to reach the bolt with a 8 mm ratchet spanner. After I got the spanner on the bolt by touch, it was done within seconds!
1:13 excellent video!! The only difference is that in order to raise the beam, I have to turn CLOCKWISE rather than counter clockwise. Thanks so much!!
Thx for upload a video about the xmax300 headlight adjustment, i thought it is a fixed light. Only problem is screw is little bit hard to find and the screw is only accessible left hand side infront of the bike. This adjustment really need some patient to deal with it i wish there are more photos of it
@@motohound90 I ordered the 2022 version so hopefully I won't need this video and they already have the lights positioned the way that they need to be.
Man this has been annoying me since I bought the bike 1 year ago. Dealer is not willing to adjust as they say it's set correctly to local laws. BS I say the bike is dangerous to be ridden at night. Thank you been searching the web for answers. The lights from the factory are set to low.
Yeah the way they adjust the lights doesnt work for the xmax headlight design. I think this is a unanimous conclusion amongst all owners. They still arent great lights after adjusting but it is a heck of a lot better field of view than the factory setting!
Yes I bet the Yamaha engineers didn't even test the lights at night and went as long as they look good. Have you considered a bigger screen? Again the factory one is annoying if going over 100km You get awful head buffering.
@@gavinr1834 I assume you raised it, maybe add an extra wind deflector. Screen is great for me, strong plexiglass.. minus the plastic bolts that seem to come loose over time. Heard of people replacing them but my bike is overseas so I haven't yet.
Thank you. Once you have a feel for where the bolt is located it is an easy process. Just be careful to not drop your wrench... I dropped mine down one side of the fairing on accident😂 Fortunately I have another one and it doesn‘t seem to rattle down there so I‘ll just leave it for eternity. Now the coverage of the light is awesome, it could be a bit brighter though.
HI, I tried to do it by myself but it ain't easy like you said. First of all the space to fit the tiny wrench is too small. I've managed to get to the bolt, but the 8mm wrench doesn't fit properly and the space to turn it it's way too small. Lucky you you're able to do it, I'll have to let the dealer do it.
@@motohound90 Thank you. Also noticed you have a short video about it so I'll check that out as well! Thanks for the content on the Xmax, I have deposit down for one at my local.
Did you try it? Its not like its locked in place. Anyone can twist it left or right to get it how they like it once they know how to adjust it. I would love to see anyone argue this doesnt improve their field of vision drastically over the factory setting.
@@motohound90 First off when its on the center stand the headlight aims down. so that's wrong. need to 2 person to adjust it if can.. 1 sits on the bike level.. . measure the headlight height from bottom to the center headlight. exempel 50cm.. Mark 50cm on the wall. back the bike 10meters and adjust so the top line come to the mark on the wall.
@@pattayakamagra8325 yes, that is how you do it on a bike with properly designed headlights. The Xmax has poorly designed headlights that need pointed up more. This is why everyone asks why the headlights are pointed so far down from the factory. I tested this out before posting and it made a huge difference for the better. I played with going up and down a bit more but the method shown was a good sweet spot. I guess others may have different results depending on if their beam setter is adjusted the same as mine was but again, they can move up or down as desired once they know how.

Glad to hear it. I am trying to be self sufficient and learn how to wrench things myself!

Been searching Google for this for 2 days. And u just uploaded this minutes ago! 🧐 U spying on me?
Haha just doing my best to share all the info I wish I would have been able to find easier!

Thanks. Very helpful.
Is it possible to buy brighter bulbs or even after market lights ?
My Harley has Daymakers and they are very good.
Pity Yammie a blot on a great scoot
Hi do you know how to check why the small led lights-lines dont work in my lights? Ive checked the fuses but now success here.
Bravo bravo 👏👏👏

on my sym its very similar, and I can rotate knob just with rubber gloves without wrench.
The headlights still are not optimal on the 2023, however I'm not sure that it is possible to adjust these in the same way
Applicable to nmax v2.1?
Hello Mr. Hound,
Which Ram Mount is attached to your Xmax?
Its a Ram X grip with a medium arm and a brcovan mirror ball mount from Amazon. Just got a small arm and its even better now.

@@philiplondonaz great choice!!! Its a scooter I will be keeping until it falls apart. More helpful Xmax Tips in the pipeline.
What size wrench?
8mm metric socket. Needs to be a thin spanner wrench style to get access. Video shows the tool used.
Applicable to all xmax version s?
Yes sir!
thanks so much!
You’re very welcome!
Oh man this is so hard… I wasnt able to do it… even with small hands…
It took some patience and persistence for me but I eventually figured it out once i locked the tool on for the first time successfully
@@motohound90 It was hard for me but I finally did it.
Now I'm just waiting on a new windscreen review. Hint hint 😏
I am starting to think the sport screen is preferable. So sick of wind buffeting. I dont mind some wind if it isnt turbulent
Tried and gave up... it's too absurd of a location
So wrong how you know it’s adjusted properly first time you measure ? And then 1 cm higher also wrong.. totally wrong bro
