you are awesome!!! this is the greatest diy fabric flower ever!! it's so realistic...and because of you, I save a lot of money...it's my wedding next year and I can't wait to brag about this diy flowers...
These are beautiful, I just finished a few of the cabbage rose peonies and they turned out beautiful. I am now working on these little beauties. I am making these for my daughter's September wedding to scatter around in little vases throughout the reception. I was also thinking they would look lovely with the pew bows and down the staircase at the reception. They are time consuming, but so worth the reward. Thank you for sharing your video with us.
Hi Diy mom! love these flower! I am making my daughter's bouquet as we speak. I just wanted to take minute to let you know what helps to keep the stem more sturdy. I took the stem and bent the top of stem to make a hook and then using the opposite straight end I feed it through the Styrofoam ball pulling it through the ball until the hook was flush with the ball. Doing it this way insured the stem does not fall out of the flowers ...just a note

I absolutely love these. I've watched a lot of videos on making DIY fabric flowers and this video is in my top 5. I would love to make these to place on some of the chairs during the wedding ceremony, toward the aisle, with an organza or tulle swag. The main thing that I also want to do is make fabric flowers, about 7" in diameter, to add to a stretchable chair sash. These will be placed on chiavari chairs.
I have made my own wedding bouquet basically following your first video on how to do peonies and cabagge roses.. it was so wonderful because it was my dream to have a fabric bouquet. Peonies are my favorite flowers and are very expensive here in Brazil. I am delighted with your new version of this flower! It brought me a lot of good memories of my mom and I doing my bouquet for a hole month, thinking of each detail... and this new version is so so beautiful.. congrats for your blessed hand and work! cheers from Brazil! :)
For some strange reason those flowers looks so realistic and so beautiful at the same time! And those flowers seems like they are time consuming just by making one. But they are so beautiful. Thank you for sharing and keep up the good work.
Oh my goodness Christina, absolutely gorgeous! So unique what we can diy! I love them! As always Christina, thank you for sharing all of your hard work, creativity, talent and inspiration! Stay safe, healthy and positive! God bless you and your family!🙏❤🇺🇸😊
So beautiful. I used to make ribbon flowers, but not as easy as this one. I am going to try my hand at this beauty and hope it turns out at beautiful as yours.
Thank you so much! I plan to make a wedding bouquet and decorations for my daughter’s wedding in 2 years. I plan to get started soon! Thanks for the inspiration! Hugs ~ Josie :)
@thediymommy Congrats you CREATIVE!!! I was thinking...wouldn’t it look nice if you paint in a magenta o fusia tone, the styrofoam ball, inside the first layer of fabric? It could give it a more realistic touch! Even using petals in pale beige or off white, and painting the ball inside in light green, could look very nice! I hope I can try my own peonies soon!!! These are my best preferred flowers!!! ...and they don’t grow around😩Thanks so much foe your wonderful tutorial! Best regards, from Caracas, Venezuela!
Hi! Thank you so much for sharing this diy peony fabric flower. Does backing fabric mean taffeta? I have request.. would it be possible for you to make a video on the Michael's store that everyone keeps mentioning about. I would really like to see it. Thank you
Ur peones looks realistic and it’s really very beautiful. If I carefully singe the ages of petal. Will the petal burn??Does this organza strong enough to tolerate the candle light.Plz reply
I love them!!! How gorgeous are they!! Thank you so much for the great instructions. This video is going straight into my playlist for later! (After I go to the store to get the material! :D) I can't wait to get started and I'll be happy if they turn out half as pretty as yours. Thanks again. XOXO
Somehow I never saved this video when I saw it the first time 🤦♀️. So happy it popped up in my videos again😆😄🥰. These are fabulous Christina❣️ How many yards of each fabric will we need to make approximately 10 peonies?
Hi! I want to mount this as a flower on a canvas for our granddaughter's nursery. What is the diameter of your flowers with 32 petals? Could I add more petals, if I cut them larger? I also do not need a stem and was thinking of a pipe cleaner for this. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you for this tutorial!
Hello.. first of all thank you for the lovely tutorial. I want to make these beautiful flowers. Please can you tell me how many flower heads can be made in one meter satin fabric? Will one meter fabric be enough for a medium size bouquet? Also is it possible for you to add product links in the description? It will be very helpful for novice people like me :) Thank you once again for the helpful tutorial 😘
Hi Fatema, I made these 6 years ago so it's hard for me to answer those specifics but you should check out this post here: thediymommy.com/make-a-bridal-bouquet-of-fabric-flowers/ that dives into a bridal bouquet that I made of fabric flowers.
It has been my crafting experience that if you want to try a substitution, go for it! Don't forget to report back with your results, positive or negative. I don't know how you would secure the edges of the burlap. The flame method may or may not work. [Depending on how tightly woven your burlap is] You might have to try some type of glue based edging. Mod Podge, School glue with water, I'd start with 3 parts glue to 1 part water. Which might be interesting as you could sprinkle the wet glue with glitter, adding sparkle. If you're not into glitter, an iridescent medium or paint mixed with a small amount of coloured paint, thinned with matte or gloss medium would work too. Personally, I'd get some gold or copper iridescent acrylic paint, add a drop of orange iridescence and thin it with matte medium. You'd end up with a coppery/orange shimmer on the edges of the burlap peonies. I'm curious now too! Working with burlap, do it as far in advance as possible, you may end up with chapped hands.
