Thank you so much for this 🙌🏼 my previous vacuum was broken from a family member. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Well, they took it apart and lost a few screws, couldn't find certain parts bcus they misplaced it. It was just the rubber that needed to be replaced🤦🏻♀️ so my husband picked up this used vacuum from family and it smells bad. So I took it apart by watching your videos and did exactly what you did here and just want to say thank you so much. Now it smells better, fresh, the whole house smells like pinesol 😅 Thank you again. New subscriber
Your video saved me! I’m a broke college student and was devastated when I realized my vacuum wasn’t suctioning hardly at all. It was clogged in that little tube as well at the dust bin strainer thing being completely blocked as well. You saved me so much money and I get to keep this vacuum that I love!
*A great vacuum💯 for the price. The suction is awesome **MyBest.Tools** excellent for pet hair. The beater attachment works great on the stairs. Not too heavy and easily maneuvered.🤨*
I have the same model and I just finished cleaning out mines too. And I always say the same quote too "Take the time to take care of your stuff, and your stuff will take care of you" Lol
THANK YOU!!!! YOU ROCK... You were detailed on the cleaning. I had no idea how simple the cleaning was until you came along! besides me power washing the face filter (didn't follow instructions to BLOW! ) No worries, I bought the item on Amazon for $15 including the spongy filters THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH
This is the video I never knew I always needed. I have the identical vacuum and it has really lost suction over the years. I was on the brink of getting a cordless stick vacuum, but I think I’ll give my old one a good cleaning. Thanks!
I just fill my tub with warm water and a little dawn soap and put the hose and the dirt container and every thing else that is plastic in the tub and wash everything good and rinse the hose etc with the shower hand held wand and I allow everything to dry over night and I seen in my instructions that even the hepa filter can be run under water but I really like these vacuums because the are easy to take apart and clean and the replacement filters and hepa filter are all pretty cheap to replace compared to my other vacuums I have had in the past!......thanks for posting this video
This vacuum is INCREDIBLE🌼 It works like a charm, and sucks up EVERYTHING! Packaging is straightforward, and everything is mostly assembled already. Nice cord length, easy attaching and detaching the hose, this vacuum has it ALL. I HIGHLY recommend this vacuum.
You should do a video on how to take apart the head to get the beater bar out. That's the one I was looking for. Great video though! I as well love this machine. The best of all the sharks except for a purple when I used years ago at a family's house that had a lot of attachments. I wish they wouldn't have done a way with the bear wood floor attachment that went with this vacuum. That is the best part on my wood floors.
Thanks for posting this video. My wife and I have the same vacuum and really love it. This morning I was using it and noticed it had lost suction. I took apart just like you did, and found the top filter in the canister was clogged something awful. I decided to do a deep cleaning of it & took it apart. Now I'm just waiting for everything to dry before putting it back together and using it again.
Glad this video was able to help you out. I was totally shocked how much improvement we got out of the vac after we cleaned it out. Let us know if your results were as good. Thanks again for watching!
Thank you for your video it helped me rejuvenate my shark i have the same one i replaced the HEPA filters opened up the bottom of vacuum cleaner took the rolling brush out mine was full of hair like yours I felt it was easier to just take the whole thing out thoroughly works like a champ yes i had it since 2011
Thanks for this video. My front filter does not indicate it is HEPA so I remove and wash it. It takes longer to dry than the foam and felt filters, but I have an extra one to use. It seems to wash just fine.
It would've been nice to show exactly how you cleaned everything. But now I know how to take it apart but how did you clean them? Water, cleaning solution?
What about the spring in the part of the body where the filters go? (It’s OK to clean out the pleated filter by rinsing it (this is the same type of filter used on hot tubs and other vacuums-been washing them once a year for decades). Make sure you use a gentle spray on both sides and let it dry COMPLETELY before reinstalling on the body.
I have the exact same vacuum and in the manual it says you can watch all three filters the HEPA filter that you said not to wash Shark recommends washing that once a year
I would have to say Shark is wrong by saying that. I've been told by several experts and other companies to never wash them as it makes them less effective. Washing HEPA filters break down the fibers and makes the gaps between the them larger. This allows more air and particles to pass through them. I would never wash a HEPA filter no mater what the instructions say.
The Rausch Vlog I am a vacuum collector and I would actually personally prefer a bag vacuum as A Miele but my daily driver vacuum is my Shark nv70 I also have the same Shark that you have and I have a couple Miele and the better option for HEPA filters would yes be to blow it out but that can still damage the pores the best option is to replace it like what Miele doesIs every year to buy a new HEPA filter thank you for the all the great content
Oh wow, I thought my manual said you could wash that bigger lower filter by running hot water on it until the water is clear... 🧐 however I could have be wrong and I did have to wait like 3 days for mine to dry 😬
Did you ever have to change the belts and roller brush in this vacuum? I have the exact same vacuum and love it! I have had mine since 2012 and it is in need of a new belt. I am however having problems getting it apart to replace the belt(s). Any guidance would be greatly appreciated as I love my vacuum and don’t want to buy another when this one works great but needs a belt
It does not take belts take it to a vacuum repair shop and they will let you know but the motor is problably worn and it won’t spin right but I does not use belts
Did you wash the inside of the hose? I heard in another video for another Shark model that you should never submerge the hose (with handle) because it has electrical connectors or connections (?) and that it would ruin it. I cleaned mine by soaking it in soapy water with vinegar and moving the water around. I want to know if I ruined it. Even if I did, I can't live with the smell (see below). I made the great mistake of vacuuming kitty litter and cat food. It was a blind lady's house and the cats used the bathroom as a kitty litter box! The vacuum smells terrible and I'm wondering how to get to as much of the vacuum as possible. Mine is a Shark Professional Lift Away Rotator. Also, there's a hard plastic section that's hard to get into.
Don't scrub the filters. Slap them together outside like you would when cleaning erasers. Then you can either take your shop vac and suck the rest of the dirt out or run them under some water and let them dry
Obviously that last part of showing the nasty dog hair from the small patch of vacuuming was set up, unless your carpet was really that dirty from super suction
Actually, I have had the same results with vacuum on full suction. Carpet looks clean, but this little machine is Herculean in its ability to get ingrained dirt out.

I totally agree

I completely agree!!
Same

We completely agree!!
Exactly! So why don’t they make them anymore??? So frustrating.

I was looking for this as well. I really need to get into that brush area.

Thanks for posting. I think my problem is solved. I love this vacuum and didn't want to spend the money for one just like it.
Glad we were able to help you out. I love our vacuum and wouldn't replace for anything.
Wow thank you so much! Mine is clogged and Ive been working hard to unclog it to no avail
Glad I could help!
Thank you for this video. This really helped me.
No problem, I'm glad I could help.
It would've been nice to show exactly how you cleaned everything. But now I know how to take it apart but how did you clean them? Water, cleaning solution?
Great video glad it got the suction back
Thanks, i'm shocked how well the vacuum is performing now.

Dang! I was hoping you would show us how to remove that screen filter that is inside you dirt cup.
Omg I have so many vacuums that don’t suck anymore!! I have taken them apart and no luck for me
how did take off the roller brush?
Oh wow, I thought my manual said you could wash that bigger lower filter by running hot water on it until the water is clear... 🧐 however I could have be wrong and I did have to wait like 3 days for mine to dry 😬
I have this vacuum it's a lovely little thing
How did You get the roller brush out to clean it?
I just got mine yesterday and it seems like it’s not picking anything up on my hard floor, what should I do cuz it’s totally clean
What about the main hose. Is there a way to clean it. It says it contains electrical wires so is it safe to run water through?
It is safe to run water through as long as everything is disconnected and you allow it to thoroughly dry.
Can you wash a hepa filters
It's not recommended, but there are a lot of people who do.
Where did you get the parts
There are no additional parts. I just took the vacuum apart, cleaned it, and put it back together.
It works! I cleaned out my vacuum out and didn't know I had so much build-up that was stuck plus it didn't suction as much
Thanks soooo much. You are awesome.
No problem!
Oh I was hoping I could get the canister wet and squirt it out! Thanks!
Is this the cu512?
Thank you
No problem
I have the same model., how did you clean the hoses?
I didn't really clean the hoses, just everything they connect too.
I just cleaned mine too to bottom I open the bottom part and cleaned the brush
It really helps to take everything apart and di a deep cleaning.
Mine's overheating in the area below the front filter.

What brand/device do you use to blow out the filters?
I just use my shop vac with the hose on the blower end. It works great.
Did you use soap and water to clean the parts?
Yes I used soap and water. I washed everything but the hoses and
filters.
@@TheRauschVlog thank you.
Don't scrub the filters. Slap them together outside like you would when cleaning erasers. Then you can either take your shop vac and suck the rest of the dirt out or run them under some water and let them dry
There are actually 3 filters
That metal grate cannot come out of the dust cup
Good to know, I could have sworn when I first got the vacuum, it came out.
Your pets are saying the vacuum smells like them
It probably does, but since we keep up on vacuuming and cleaning it doesn't smell at all.
fully watched my dear stay in touch
Thank you so much.
It can get bad fast.
Good but some things not explained
Obviously that last part of showing the nasty dog hair from the small patch of vacuuming was set up, unless your carpet was really that dirty from super suction
Actually, I have had the same results with vacuum on full suction. Carpet looks clean, but this little machine is Herculean in its ability to get ingrained dirt out.
Get a Riccar vacuum, that’s a real vacuum made in the USA. Not this Chinese made stuff
Did you wash the motor with the hose?
Spray it down?
