The reason i like learning about 2B2T so much is that it functions like a self-sustaining social experiment or a simulation of minecraft politics and society and I love it

That’s the point
Giant water cube, large obsidian roofs, high lava wall and now, nether with almost nothing in the center
I see three logical responses to this: Rebuild the ring roads at regular intervals and widen the main highways (I expect the various road building groups will do something like this no matter what), improve the traversability of the overworld- more holes in the walls can never hurt, or... Make the nether floor more navigable by at least removing all the lava.
One day, the groups building infrastructure and the ones making spawn unescapable will eventually go to war at this rate...

I understand how important it is for new players to have a hard time getting started in 2b2t but there comes a point when even the best players can't leave spawn

Well, if there's less players it'll become more playable. And it's also probably rewarding for new players to enter the community and become a part of these kinds of projects, like bulling the weak kid at school

When I joined the Server for the first time a while ago and went to the Nether I saw these Redstone-block-structures and asked myself what these are fore. I was just shocked while watching this video cause I escaped the wasteland without getting into trouble but just walked straight through the bombing xD

I kinda concern as a outsider to the 2b2t community that what if Spawn just becomes impossible to escape or too difficult that most players can't escape. The lack of new players will slowly dwindle the servers population as older players gets tired and retire from 2b2T and no new players arrive

I can confirm that this has made escaping spawn much harder than the lava wall / great spawn wall / black sky / water cube has ever made escaping spawn.

I imagine, next operation involves flying in grids and destroying every bed, forcing everyone basically into the spawn area and controlling the server entirely?
A friend of mine and I recently came to the server and had to make our way from spawn. Because of the shattered and bombed wasteland we spawned on the top of the obsidian the Infinity Incursion placed to darken the spawn area below. We walked a bit, then jumped down into the remaining water from the flooding done by the same group. Then jumped a bit from block to block and reached normal land.
Instead of making the escape harder, it was actually helpful. Thanks Infinity Incursion, I guess.

@@XxX_afterHours_XxX Probably an attempt to keep the server from becoming even more popular and attracting more people. Mainstream attention is the death of OG cliques in communities. I'm not a 2b2t player or OG, so I can't say for certain if that's their motive, but it's pretty likely. The 2b2t queue is already backed up to hell, no small part of it thanks to FitMC here.

I’ve been a big fan of yours for a while so today I pulled the plug and purchase priority queue so I can finally give 2b2t a try or even make it a home server. It is no joke it took me half a day just to make it out and with multiple attempts but finally succeeded. I’m was so excited to finally see everything from your past videos. I’m going to keep on trucking along and hopefully to find a place to call home or a group to join.

I am impressed by their efforts to gatekeep the server and keep us noobs away and I cannot wait to hear what they do next.
Yeah but when old players leave and new ones can't join a server dies it may take a few years but these dudes don't realise they are killing the server. A few people in the comments said they used to play there but not anymore so thats already a handful of players that wont be able to be replaced because of these dudes.

I've been on 2b2t recently and I don't recall it looking like this. I spent lots of time at spawn and basically no one was there. Fall damage was my worst enemy along with lack of food.
I kinda don't see the logic of projects like this. I can understand wanting to keep the swarms of TH-camr fans out, but this also causes a problem. Eventually you're going to get to the point where the amount of players joining and then subsequently escaping spawn to eventually become members of the community is no longer sufficient to replace players that leave.

The longevity of the server is way down the list of priorities when you're trying to burn the world down...
2b2t is legit a digitial ecosystem. It evolved so that new players have to be strong to survive, just like irl animals where baby birds murder their siblings or lions kill other lions's cubs

Escaping spawn was pretty easy through the nether. That's how I did it. This will make it a lot harder.
I've escaped spawn like 5 days ago, it's not really as hard as people explain it to be
@@matthewp7350 These big spawn griefing projects degrade pretty quickly. Experienced players need to move through the map too, and they never clean up after themselves.

I’m not sure how I feel about stuff like this. On one hand, I know that it’s the culture of the old players to make it really difficult for new players, but on the other hand, what happens when you finally scare off all of the new players and suddenly your server is dying again?

Besides the escape from spawn is what makes it fun
When you scare off new players by making it increasingly impossible to get out of spawn they aren't likely to come back. If the old community leaves that would be what kills it, because there is none of the culture the server is known for. 2B2T can't last for long when it is like this.
It's anarchy so hause cant do anything against it.
It takes too long to get into 2b2t, so I go into the test server, and I LOVE IT

Still remember being able to escape spawn after dozens of tries lol. Parkouring with scavenged dirt while walking naked and dying of hunger on a highway, until some full diamond guy just passed by and gave me food and armor, imagine having to deal with them actually hunting you lol
