Third grade field trip to Japan Town & the then new Japanese cultural center. About 1967-1968.
Japan town does not come to life after dark. Most of the shops are closed before sun down
SF Japantown is tiny. Some stores are Korean. And several vendors have closed over the years, so it has fewer options than in the past.
I went to japantown in San Francisco last Saturday it is like a damn ghost town I hardly see nobody tourist doing some shopping or eating at a restaurant

SF is no longer tourist spot It's not just Japantown Last time when I was there litrally just homeless ppl and litrally unsafe
