"Yuengling Premium is a pilsner-style brew, gold in color with a pale malt character that finishes crisp and clean. Premium blends both two-row and six-row barley malt for thirst-quenching taste. I like it. It has a nice taste and is refreshing. Wonderful history.
Refreshing is a big one for certain. One summer about 10 years ago there was a Shiner release of a beer with prickly pear cactus nectar you'd DIE for after mowing the lawn... never saw it again. The fruit of the prickly pear cactus has a nectar that's wonderful, sort of like pomegranate but better. But the fruit is covered with tiny, fine spines that are like asbestos in the skin, as well as tons of seeds that are like the ones in kiwi fruit, but even finer. It definitely needs a good straining. The spines can be burned off over a low flame while holding the fruit in some tongs.

Also, you can’t always trust those beer snobs on those sites. They’re reviewing it for what THEY want it to be, not for what it is. I like many kinds of beers (except IPA’s, tastes like someone shoved a pine cone in a bottle) American Macro Lagers are my favorite because they’re easy to drink and I don’t want something heavy and dark to drink on a hot summer day.
What do you like to drink in the winter?

@@rocketman8476 That's not even remotely what the boycott is about. The boycott stems from them parading out an individual that was being pushed as the new representation of their brand and the face of their consumers. It also stems from the woman head of marketing insulting their actual consumers and making all kinds of false narratives about them and the brand itself. And lastly it stems from them deciding to use that "type of person" just days after one of those same "types of people" decided to commit the "act" at the Nashville Christian school. You seem to either live under a rock or have a very short memory.

@@rocketman8476 Your response is non sequitur to what i said. I never claimed any majority or minority of who/what commits the most shootings. I only stated why there is a boycott against Anheuser Busch and why their decisions have been harmful to their own brands because of their hiring decisions.

I hope they introduce Premium in more states- before now you could only get it in Pennsylvania and some parts of NY and NJ. It's cheaper and I enjoy it even more than the lager.

When I compare this to other beers in the same price range at the grocery store, I think it is as good as others. It’s a fine choice, for what it is.
Compared to PBR, I’d drink either one.
Compared to Hamm’s, I’d pick this in a heartbeat.

Glad you got it down there. I have never seen this outside of PA or maybe DE/MD. We've had Yuengling (Traditional, Black and Tan, etc.) in VA for a long time, but never this to my knowledge.
It's also around plenty in south Jersey PHL suburbs but have never seen in north Jersey (where I am from and am now) or in Virginia Beach/Norfolk area where i live now.

We’ve recently started to get these in the south FLA area. This is me and my buddies go to. 15 frog skins for the case, we love it and both agree it’s a good regular beer! I sure hope it sticks around!

Great AAL, I prefer to the traditional lager for dryer finish & less corny. Only seen in stores in NJ (for years) and VA where live now last year in suitcases, didn’t want so many. Local pub sold single cans from suitcase last year and had a bunch there. Last week did Yuengling brewery tour and had 6 pack 16 oz tall boys in gift shop $7 tax included. Grabbed one, glad I did!
Now, our local Walmart has this in suitcases for $17.49.
We just started getting the Lager & Flight back in March. It had the Coors Banquet style anticipation when it got here. Its pretty expensive in my area. I'll stick with my 12 pack of Miller High Life pints for $8.99

For the longest time I thought this one was just the Traditional Lager in a new can design, but recently realized it's a totally different beer altogether.. needless to say, I really want try it. I've seen it near me, cheers!

I LOVE this beer. I've been writing Yuengling since 2019, asking if they will introduce Chesterfield and Premium to Florida, as we have a Yuengling Brewery here in Tampa. I was elated to find Premium here in the 904 area. I find it relatable to Hamm's Premium, with its hop forward (for a lager) approach.
Now, we just need Lord Chesterfield and their Porter!
I wish Florida had Hamm's and brought back red dog.
Red dog was so good. It disappeared. Schlitz lager and MGD also disappeared.
I like this beer too. Plus it's low alcohol.
Lucky lager and Hamm's and texas lone star are my favs for cheap beer.

We use to have Winn-Dixie round here, but hadn't seen one of those in ages. They did just put up a Piggly-Wiggly not terribly too long ago.

I have never had YP but been curious for long time. Since grew up in NJ, Yuengling (traditional lager) been a staple there for good 25 years, even before it "exploded", expanded distribution helped by addition of the FL plant, etc. Anyway, as you know - am in VA now and not lived in NJ since 2008 (although am there now). Don't recall seeing this in north Jersey when i am up here but @ beer stores in south NJ (PHL metro) it's common. However it' is in those suitcases - didn't want to buy so many & was hoping to find a 6 or 12 pack or even 24 oz cans so I still have never had Enjoyed getting some insight into this one ... still hoping to see a 6 or 12 pack one day - or a 24 oz can or 2.
Yes, it's all suitcases, here. But, it's well worth the risk.
I was going to buy some of that in Indiana, but they don’t sell beer before noon on Sunday!! Living in Michigan, I always go to Ohio to buy Yuengling, but they never have this beer.

How'd you rate this against Genesee Beer (NOT the Cream Ale, which I think is VERY good and sessionable as get-all!)?
To me, this is better than standard Genesee. I wish Lord Chesterfield would return to Louisiana.
Yuengling is an adjunct brewed with corn grits, so it cannot be categorized as a craft beer.

We don't have Yuengling out here... yet. Supposedly it was to make it's way at some point. I have a friend in Pennsylvania and it's his favorite beer brand and he swears by all their products. Anyway, great review!

Just tried it, super impressed. I too would give it an edge on high life. It has this after taste that reminds me of another beer but i cant put a finger on it. Thinking european type flavor i get? It def reminds me of something i drank before. Its super drinkable though.

I finally found this one 24 cans at 16.99 at the total wine in Tallahassee. I like this one. I give this one a 90 out of 100. I like it a little better than the miller high life

I've always wanted to try this and especially the Chesterfield Ale, but I never run across it. I guess the distributors around here don't carry it. It doesn't help that all the liquor stores are being bought out by Liquor World and all carry the same stuff. A lot of these small Eastern Ky, counties that have been dry since Prohibition have gone wet so Liquor World has started showing up everywhere
I don't know what to say or what it the solution, sad to say.
I was told at the factory in Pottsville it was only available in Pennsylvania. So strange
That probably was the case, but they decided to expand its distribution.
How does this one compare to the traditional? Is there another macro lager you could tell us that tastes similar to premium?
To me, it has a bit more flavor to it than the Traditional. I think that Lone Star tastes pretty similar to Yuengling Premium.

Yes, and I have some posted reviews for it.
I remember Yuengling wasn't that bad, first Yuengling i had in 2003/2004(if i remember correctly) there was an international beer market in Weimar/Thuringia, there was only one american beer stand, i remember asking what is the best american beer? And they said Yuengling(this was years before i had an 2015 Old Stock Ale)! I don't remember if this was Premium i only remember it was a browm bottle with a white label and it says Yuengling Lager! Also buyed a Bush and Samuel Adams for 3,50€ each 0,33l bottle size, compare to the Bush and Sam Adams it was the best.
Later i figured out that Yuengling comes from the german familyname Jüngling(wich means something like young-male-child in english) and they changed their familyname to a more english one with the y instead of j for young and ue instead of ü... was interesting.
I guess the nearest german beer to Yuengling is a Hacker Pschor Helles(Hell), at least it reminds me of Yuengling or vice versa.

I let it chill in the fridge till the hockey game on at 8pm last night. Needless to say, with some grilled chicken wings that beer did its job. I didn't mind it at all. Your review was basically spot on!

Just curious, after finally tasting this beer ice cold and on its own, does it feel like another older label beer to you? Kinda like Schlitz beer in the white can before they brought back the older recipe more expensive recipe??

That's the nature of the game, I'm afraid.
I've noticed Yuengling's yellow lagers all have a lemon flavor. Fortunately living in the South we get a lot of their products. One more thing, I'm so sick of rating sites saying many yellow lagers are undrinkable! I've drank undrinkable beers. Miller High Life, Coors, Heineken, Budweiser etc... are not those beers!
I know. It's ridiculous to take a beer or beers, which are at least a "B" (good) and try to say that they are an "F" (undrinkable).
I haven't seen this one in Texas yet. Also, I agree, the Flight is my least favorite.

Yup - Flight is lame even by light AAL standards. However their Yuengling Light Lager is one of the best in class easily
I actually walked out with a case of this, 12 pack of miller lite, and toilet paper for free from walmart tonight, just because they forgot to scan items in my cart 🤣🤣🤣

To have a clear conscience, and not be a thief, you should return to the store and pay for those items. Walmart is not the cause of inflation. The U.S. government gets the discredit for that.
