We have some battle fields in South Carmarthenshire - the Welsh uprisings from various times, there are many. Court Henry 1257 is one, if I remember the date correct. Owain Glyndwr and Carreg Cennen Castle up in the hills, c.1400. Also English Civil War times, Oliver Cromwell and that.
And King James (1 of England 6 of Scotland) was descended from Robert. Meaning the king who founded Scottish independence is the ancestor of the king who founded British unionism.
Therefore voting independence against Robert De Bruce's his ancestor, and King Of Scots is treasonous to their memory, and everything you stood for. Thats a tricky one to get over to an SNP Communist.
Hey Steven Goch! 👋😃 I don’t know enough to comment, but my Scot side is punching the air going ‘yeah’ and my English side feels really sorry for myself ha ha!!
@@huwzebediahthomas9193 Steven the red. Suits him. I really knicked it off my hen hen daid, his name was Iorwerth Goch (ap Maredudd ap Bleddyn) You must be Welsh with a name like Huw!
The first Culloden, over four hundred years earlier. Kidnapped! Great movie that is on Culloden, from start to finish, and not many people know that. Vivien Heilbron, oh yes.👍😎🏴
Our families fought for Stirling and Scotland but more and more the elected councils are imposing LEZ, ULEZ and ultimately "15 minute" cities but wait a minute, the towns and cities belong to the people who live there, not the government or council. If the people wish these anti vehicle policies, why not have a local vote not a vote open to non residents who probably have never visited and have no skin in the game? In Edinburgh the "pro cyclist lobby" voted on local restrictions, outnumbering the locals many times over, how can this be fair?
My Scottish Clan were busy in southern Ireland slaughtering natives on behalf of King Robert The Bruces brother . So we were not present at Bannockburn. Hello! Hello!, 😉🙏. .
Please let me know your thoughts below...
Literally was there this afternoon first time visiting in about 20 years

Not sure Robert founded Scottish independence so much as preserved it.
Another brilliant well read video. 👍My Clan fought for Bruce at Bannockburn. Chances are i might have had ancestors on the English side too though.
Thank you
I’m a Scot but my ancestors would have faced one another for sure, English father mother from kintyre
Angus ogs lads,
Finally got watch, great video as always. I wouldn't expect anything less.

I am, from the wild West of Wales. 👍😎🤓
I was there and was really impressed when I saw what was put at the horse's arse on the Bruce statue.
Is there a list anywhere that tells who fought with Robert at the Battle of Bannockburn? Which Scottish knights?
Good concise video and as is now the politics is not always that straight forward.
Thanks
A massive thank you Gerry, I really appreciate it.

How about Bannockburn, ya pudden!?
Was Edward II's army larger than the Roman armies.

that did not happen until after 1314 and the scots were there to get rid of the english in Ireland ..
Why don't they just scan/dig? It was in a bog/marsh there will for sure be steel/iron etc artifacts burried deep
I haven't even watched the video yet. But a channel called 'celtic history decoded' is already setting off bias alarms. Let's see.
