Dalinar has one of the best character arcs in the series, at least to me. He's like a more realized and fleshed out Uncle Iroh archetype. His showdown with Odium in Oathbringer was one of my favorite moments, especially when Odium is telling him that the atrocities he committed wasn't his fault. Dalinar rejects that entirely and accepts that he is ultimately the one who was responsible for his actions.
I love that wrap up of Dalinar in Oathbringer as well! So good. I like thinking that Dalinar is like the Uncle Iroh for an adult audience. Nice analogy. Thanks for watching Robert!
I was shocked when I found out that dalinar erased his memory and how bad of a person he was when he was younger but I'm glad that he accepted responsibility for his actions
To be fair, I think he was probably surprised too. They’re little hints about his past, but nobody likes to find out that the character they love had such a past. Thanks for watching!
Dalinar is such a hope inspiring character from the beginning, but even more so when you know who he was. Great analysis! What did you use to make your out-ro dragon? It is super cool!
Thank you! I kind of love that it takes until book 3 to see his backstory. By then we’re pretty attached to him and love seeing his growth arc. The dragon and it’s animation I actually purchased separately, and my husband helped me put them together. I can’t remember what program he used for it though. Thanks for watching!
I agree that it was a weird ending for him. It was abrupt, and like it was the easy way to get rid of him. The only good reason I can see to have Adolin kill Sadeas like that is for Adolin’s character arc. To show that he’s not a total goody two shoes, and that he takes after the blackthorn in some ways. It also helps him understand Shallan’s secretiveness, but overall, just a weird way to handle it.

Why did sadeas not get a transformation ark like others. I felt like his death was just to ensure not many antagonists got to book 3.
