Swapping out her longtime team for a Mourataglou makeover wasn't the only big change in her life at the time. She got married in 2021 only to divorce 11 months later. So an uncharacteristically chaotic time in all aspects of life, at least as it seems from the outside.

I never understood why she decided to change out her entire team. Yeah, it's different stage of her career, but you want people around you who know your body better than you do. Changing a coach is one thing. But swapping your long-time agent, long-time physical trainer and strength coach seemed a bit drastic.

Serious question, why would he? If it indeed was a cross contamination as Simona says, there is no way he could know either product was cross contaminated. Lab producing the product has costumers in the NHL and at the same USO and nobody else has had that issue and at least another person using that same collagen was tested at the USO and came back negative. As it is powder, it is not homogeneous so a cross contamination may go undetected, but then again, why would it be his fault?
By the way, I believe Simona, I'm not Moratogliou fan, but blame spreading has to be consistent vs what it is said.

Seems odd, if not unlikely, Halep would risk her career knowingly taking an illegal substance that would only give her marginal assistance.

Most likely, Simona will go to court against ITIA to obtain compensation in the order of millions of euros, given that the suspension dictated by TAS expired in July 2023, but she has not been able to play since then.

Unpopular hot take: Doping should not be a thing. Players should be free to do whatever they want to do to their body. Getting your electrolytes replenished during the game is enhancing your performance. Hell water and rest between breaks is enhancing your performance. Many ppl are taking medications for their health like diabetes and blood pressure etc. Everyone's physical fitness is variable and so is ppl age. There are so many variables already and not sure why tagging certain medicines as dope would make sense. Sports is a field we see super human feats would want to see it pushed and at the same time see break throughs in medicine to support it without destroying completely the athlete.
This sounds mental and probably is mental but would like a no holds barred sport sometimes

So every athlete gets high on adderall or cocaine before every match to give them an edge? Every once in a while, they overdose and die. The rich athletes dope with blood, so the poor never have a chance. No thanks.

Ostensibly it's for the good of the kids. We don't want them using to compete with other kids who are using in order to get a scholarship. Of course that's not at the professional level, but then the argument becomes "but if they see their idols doing it..." I agree with you, a lot of things that are good for our health can be argued as performance enhancing, and I frankly enjoyed the roided up baseball era, but it's a steep hill to climb.
