Veteran Soul the draw distance was always really good in spyro They lowered detail of objects that are far away but never removed them from view entirely as far as i know
I am 100%ish ok with the changing of visuals to the point as long as I can tell right away what is from the original trilogy. I'm not ok if they start moving around eggs, gems, orbs, etc. Also leave the music alone. I understand it will sound some what different because of better sound quality and recording abilities. But don't change the melodies.

The game released 20 years ago is the reason we fell in love with the franchise in the first place. Just the little details like same voice actors from the past makes a huge difference to me anyways. Stewart Copeland released some details yesterday. It's going to be a German based orchestra, where he'll play some stuff from other soundtracks and maybe some Police stuff too. He kinda downplayed the Spyro part a little, but yes - it's all going to be with an orchestra.
If this becomes a hit (and I'm sure it will), they should remake "Spyro 4: Enter the Dragonfly" and improve upon the original to what was originally planned before it got scrapped.
I love Tom Kenny's work in the voice acting industry, but I would have greatly preferred they recast Carlos Alazraqui, as the original Spyro game is the one I grew up with, so I identify Spyro with that voice. I'm a little upset about this, but Tom is still a legend in the industry, and if this is what the fans most wanted, so be it.
I'd just like to state that I own a PS4 and a Switch, (so i'm not port begging) bit if given the choice, I'd rather have this on Switch. It's not a 4kHD high texture AAA sploogefest, get that Dragon portable! XD

That sounds promising that they went to the original developers for ideas on how to recreate the original trilogy. Though I hope they changed some things such as the boss fights for Spyro 1. They were kinda too easy, Gnasty Gnorc himself for instance could easily be taken down in 2 hits and all you have to do is chase him down.
Do you understand how much this brings me back. Now I wasn't really a 90s kid, I was born in 1999. But Spyro was one of the first games I played as a little kid on PlayStation 2. Which was my first console at 5 or 6 years old. This is great, and the fact it's a re make and not a remaster. Which it shouldn't anyway because of the ps1 graphics. But still this is amazing. My sister's loved this too, it just brings me back to the Tomb Raider ps1 games and Jak and Daxter ps2 games. Hope they all get remakes someday.

Ratchet & Clank PS4 is a remake because it changed the gameplay and altered the story as well as updating the graphic and sound. The same can be said for Pokemon Leaf Green and Fire Red. Updated gameplay with new features, areas, pokemon, graphic and sound.

If i remember correctly there were cheat codes in the second and third game where you could change spyro's collors. Maybe they will include these in the reignited trilogy as easter eggs or similar to how jak and daxter used precursor orbs to unlock extra's.

I just recently replayed the whole Spyro trilogy on my old PS1, man it still to this day is a real treat. I really hope they get this right, and that it feels like the original trilogy.

It really sounds like Toys for Bob is trying to stay true and capture what everyone loved about Spyro, and I am thrilled Spyro is being remastered, but... while all we have seen are some screen shots and the teaser trailer, I have concerns about Spyro's color. He is very, very 'fuschia' (purplish-red), not the blue-purple he is supposed to be. I say this not just as a fan, but as the artist who painted Spyro's orginal textures, helped develop the palette for the game, created many of the levels and created all of the skyboxes. Spyro is near and dear to my heart.

Out of around 20 games split evenly between my ps1 and an N64,,I only had the original spyro game growing up untill i got a 360 near the end of the Halo 3 eara. Spyro was my favorite and i didn't have a memory card so id play that entire game for hours trying to get as far as i can. so hearing a different voice is a bit if a punch in the gut, hope thereas an original audio setting, unlikely. Still looking forward to this!
Just give us the option to change the music from new to old if we so choose. Halo mcc did that, although the music change was coupled with changing the graphics
Toys for Bob you making my childhood come to life once more even know I grew up with crash more I still had Spyro on the ps1 it was such a great series Insomniac Games is incredibly known for their wacky characters like Ratchet and Clank or Spyro even though they had to leave Spyro his character is in great hands
One thing I want to say keep the original controls like as a option to change it to classic so example lets say ypu change the camera with right analog stick but you want to have L2 and R2 you just go yo the pause and change it that would be great so you can still have the same feeling or have a new one also the camara speeds also

I'm SO happy about the fact that they got Spyro's original voice actor from games 2 and 3 to come back! I hate coming back to an old favorite character and finding he/she sounds completely different.
I'm glad they're actually IMPROVING the game and how it controls. From what I heard they tried to hard to keep Crash 'authentic' and as a result didn't fix any of the control issues in some sections.
From what I understand; Remakes, to developers, usually mean changing the story, look of characters, gameplay, and adding/ taking things away. Remaster is about updating the graphics, gameplay, and controls but stays true to the original, even if recreated from ground up. HD Remaster means it's pumped up to HD. So we really want Remasters, not HD remasters and not Remakes. If Spyro was remade it'll probably have the Skylanders model instead and may not play the same, but since it's a remaster, it stays true to the original look and feel. FF7 Remake is an example of a remake because it's an Action-Rpg not Turnbased like the origina. Also many of the story elements in FF7 will be changed unlike Spyro and Crash.

Spyro was my favorite and i didn't have a memory card so id play that entire game for hours trying to get as far as i can. so hearing a different voice is a bit if a punch in the gut, hope thereas an original audio setting, unlikely. Still looking forward to this!

Just give us the option to change the music from new to old if we so choose. Halo mcc did that, although the music change was coupled with changing the graphics
Toys for Bob you making my childhood come to life once more even know I grew up with crash more I still had Spyro on the ps1 it was such a great series Insomniac Games is incredibly known for their wacky characters like Ratchet and Clank or Spyro even though they had to leave Spyro his character is in great hands
One thing I want to say keep the original controls like as a option to change it to classic so example lets say ypu change the camera with right analog stick but you want to have L2 and R2 you just go yo the pause and change it that would be great so you can still have the same feeling or have a new one also the camara speeds also

I still wish they got Carlos Alazraqui (the original voice of Spyro in the first game) to do the voice of Spyro again, but having Kenny from the second and third game is still the best second option.

Given how some Spyro fans treated them for Skylanders and going out of their way to remaster the classic trilogy is quite outstanding. I mean is there even a word for this?

I'm SO happy about the fact that they got Spyro's original voice actor from games 2 and 3 to come back! I hate coming back to an old favorite character and finding he/she sounds completely different.

I'm glad they're actually IMPROVING the game and how it controls. From what I heard they tried to hard to keep Crash 'authentic' and as a result didn't fix any of the control issues in some sections.
I think they should do a remake to Tai Fu. Also another game that should be remade is ty the Tasmania tiger... If anyone remembers him!!

From what I understand; Remakes, to developers, usually mean changing the story, look of characters, gameplay, and adding/ taking things away. Remaster is about updating the graphics, gameplay, and controls but stays true to the original, even if recreated from ground up. HD Remaster means it's pumped up to HD. So we really want Remasters, not HD remasters and not Remakes. If Spyro was remade it'll probably have the Skylanders model instead and may not play the same, but since it's a remaster, it stays true to the original look and feel. FF7 Remake is an example of a remake because it's an Action-Rpg not Turnbased like the origina. Also many of the story elements in FF7 will be changed unlike Spyro and Crash.
