    Thank you this video! I had bought one of these for my husband and he's been apprehensive in using his airbrush because he didn't know how to clean it and he's been dying to paint his minis. This helped beyond words and now he has confidence to finally paint them!

      Thank you for the comment. It is always great to see some stuff I put out - actually helps someone. For what it's worth, I was reluctant to start airbrushing for couple months after getting my first Infinity airbrush. Soon after I broke and begun to try, my hobby became ridiculously easier. Seriously - if your husband is on the fence, he shouldn't. There's so much to be gained! Stuff that took hours can be done within minutes. Plus it's a lot of fun. GLHF to him and I hope he'll love the airbrush, just as I do.

      haha, late comment. My wife did the exact same thing buying me a H&S airbrush. I haven't used it yet because i'm worried about not cleaning it properly haha.

    This is the most important thing to do with an Airbrush. Cleaning it when the job is done.

    Is it safe to pull the needle out in front with these little indentations at the end of the needle? I've got a new H&S and am worried to wear out the needle seal and don't know which direction is better... What's your experience? If I pull backwards, I will get paint in the seal and already dried paint on the needle may also wear out the seal. I am leaning towards going in the front but these edges at the end of the needles had me worried... Thanks!

      One way or the other the seal will wear out in time. Just recently I had seals exchanged in my oldest Infinity CR Plus (something like ten years old). The way I look at it is: Pulling up front means less paint inside the airbrush, means less mess in the entire mechanism, means less cleaning and thus less overall wear inside the airbrush throughout the years, but also - putting the needle back from the front means I will not bend it if trigger popped out or something is in the way (which I did many times before I switched to using front of the airbrush as point of pulling/moving the needle back.). In the end I guess there's no ultimate solution, only a matter of personal preferences.

      @@Scarhandpainting thank you for the detailed answers. That absolutely makes sense! I was irritated because I read a comment about only the first half of the needle being precision engineered and pulling it out though the front may force the potentially bigger end through the seal and widening it in no time and so on. But I agree with you and not bending the needle and less paint is probably worth the 'risk'. I wonder why the manufacturer doesn't explain it better. How long are you practicing needle out in front? Here is the video and it's the top comment th-cam.com/video/4Cln5NwEcE8/w-d-xo.html

    Hey man! Nice Tutorial. Whats the Tool you are using at around 1:32? I have this with some bristles on it, but it can only go like 1inch deep.

      The tool is hairless ramrod that came with an entire set. scarhandpainting.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Scarhandpainting-HA-Airbrush-For-Beginners-22-13.jpg

      @@Scarhandpainting thank you so much! I just noticed I got that aswell - never understood whats it for however. Wont it scratch the parts?

    • @Scarhandpainting
      @Scarhandpainting  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@themoody1337 I can't guarantee it is safe for parts (especially valves/seals) but I've been doing this for almost ten years on three different Infinity airbrushes I own and they're all good. Just make sure your ramrod is not jagged at the end and if so - use sanding paper/file to smooth it up.

      Started to think about buying Lube for the parts. Some of them are quite stiff.

      First (pink one) is a cosmetic teeth ramrod. Second (needle like) is Harder & Steenbeck Airbrush Nozzle Cleaning Tool.
