    Thank you for such a great demonstration with the explanation of your experiment with cucumber planting. You have inspired me to take my growth with hydroponics seriously. I am glad I found your site. Keep on with the good work.

    Wow, 7 months of growing this plant 👍👍 Great that you had lots of cucumbers eventually.
    I am trying a variety called “Mini-me” in my AG Harvest. It is parthenocarpic and gynoecious so I am hopeful. At almost 5 weeks, it is over a foot long. There are small flowers but not yet blooming size. I will let only one sucker develop and remove the rest. I am also adding additional nutrients now that it is big enough to use up lots of the nutrient solution.
    My garden-grown Mini-Me plant is doing well and I started harvesting last week.

      I also wanted to grow Mimi-Me for a long time but not getting a chance. Wish you good luck with your Mini-Me.

    I tried the Diva cucumbers in a Harvest once while we were living in an RV, I know they say they don't need to be pollinated, but I still did with a paint brush. It was really fun, we had the vines tied up all over the RV ceiling with extra lights here and there. We got quite a few fruits from it too! Now we're in a house and I plan to grow them in the basement with free standing trellis :)

    Thank you for showing the long term progress! I have some diva seeds but have been avoiding using them since they seemed difficult in the beginning of your grow, but I think if I follow your recommendations from the very start, it may be less drama and more successful at producing cucumbers.
    Rip Diva! It sure produced amazing cucumbers.

      Yeah, go for it. The end result will pay off all the efforts and patience. Thanks for watching.

    I have tried 5 different varieties in hydro and by far the most productive is a variety called Picolino from Johnny Seeds, I got about 30 cucumbers in 4 months on multiple plants, I let them all get about 3 feet long then started pruning them back. I pick them at slightly bigger then a gherkin pickle size. If you wait until they've yellowed (ripened) I find the plant gets less productive after that. After about 6-9 months they seem to get exhausted and the plant health starts declining so I replace them after that.

      Good to know about Picolino cucumber variety. I have the seeds for a while but didn't get a chance to try them. Now I got some motivation to give them a try.

    Hi I Love Your Videos. How many trelises do you put up? Just one or have you put up more?
    Thank You So Much for Your Wonderful Videos and hard work.

      For cucumbers, I never needed more than 1 trellis. But for other vining plants, I use 2 levels of trellis.

    Did you continue to use cal mag throughout the whole process or go back to just the Aerogarden nutrient ?

    • @aerogardenexperiments
      @aerogardenexperiments  ปีที่แล้ว

      No, I only used it at the beginning to see if it makes any progress. Once it started producing cucumbers, I simply used Aerogarden nutrients. But I started adding some additional nutrients since the plant started emptying the bowl very often. I was adding 2-3 ml additional nutrients every time when I refilled the water.

    Do you think the CalMag helped? If so, how often did you use it and how much? Right now I am limping along with my Muncher Cukes in my bounty. No mature cukes yet. I have been trimming and cutting off old spotted leaves and baby cukes that dried up. Maybe adding CalMag might help?

    • @aerogardenexperiments
      @aerogardenexperiments  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, cucumbers don't require any supplements. Aerogarden nutrients give everything cukes need.

  • @faithoverfear70
    @faithoverfear70 ปีที่แล้ว

    thank you for your videos. do you think that pickling cukes would grow better as they don't need to grow so big?

    • @aerogardenexperiments
      @aerogardenexperiments  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I am pretty sure pickling cucumbers work. I'm not sure if there are any parthenocapy varieties. So, you may need to deal with manual pollination.

    How come the water seemed constantly low? Do they do better with less water in the bowl?

    • @aerogardenexperiments
      @aerogardenexperiments  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1. Cucumber plants keep emptying the bowl. So, low water indicator and my recording coincide often.
      2. I maintain half the tank pretty much all the time, except when I add nutrients every 14 days. I see better water flow and more bubbling when the tank is half full compared to full.

    Every time i Try to grow a cucumber they got disease( even special varieties+ disinfected green seeds) so I don't want to try in hydroponics...Once i ve got verh small 10 cm cucumber and got a nervous shock...
