1996: it took me 7 months to buy this cd.... back than, i needed to save my spare pocket money. 7 months are a bloody lifetime for a 14 year old... today, i'm pretty proud of my younger me ;-) 2012: my children are 4 and 2 years old... hopefully, in 10 more years, when they ask me what kind of music i've been listening to when i was their age, we'll listen to this cd together.
lyrics: Sitting in a cage An open cage You're used to its measures Used to the way it feels It gives you security And eases your anxiety The fear of the unknown The fear to be all alone The desire to leave home The nightmare of being torn I set my mind on something I would like to be And I open up the door There is so much to explore I set my mind on things That I would like to see And I open up the door There is so much more to score I sure could leave this cell But I don't I should leave this hell But I won't There is only one way out of this It is to travel by mind - noiseless The body is trapped but the mind soars free The body is caged but the mind soars free. LOL that is some serious effort! This is definitely one of those albums that still sounds fresh today - I don't know why they remixed it because I still think this original sounds far better.
this is how i feel with maladaptive daydreaming. i pace in circles all day and just THINK. such a good song, even if the lyrics might be for something else. i mean, the problem isn't that i can't think that well; "Homestuck and the MCU piloting a Jaeger mech" would figuratively describe it best. its not hopeless though, i think that WarioWare would help a lot but that's another story.
Genius album! One of the best albums of the 90s. It is such a shame it is not on Spotify

12 years later, did they?
Yeah give us the update man! How are you and the kids?
lyrics:
Sitting in a cage
An open cage
You're used to its measures
Used to the way it feels
It gives you security
And eases your anxiety
The fear of the unknown
The fear to be all alone
The desire to leave home
The nightmare of being torn
I set my mind on something
I would like to be
And I open up the door
There is so much to explore
I set my mind on things
That I would like to see
And I open up the door
There is so much more to score
I sure could leave this cell
But I don't
I should leave this hell
But I won't
There is only one way out of this
It is to travel by mind - noiseless
The body is trapped but the mind soars free
The body is caged but the mind soars free.

It does lol
This takes me back to the 90s; in a place called the Takalis in Berlin.
I got to see them live once in the UK - great gig with Paradise Lost as the headline band!
Great solo!
