- George Harrison was known as the "Quiet Beatle," but the final year of his life was anything but low-key. From playing guitar on his friends' albums to toiling away on a long-awaited solo project, Harrison was making music right up until the end.

Please Note: We accidentally said Jeff Keltner instead of Jim Keltner. Our apologies about that!
You should also apologise for invading this mans privacy.
That's ok!
We'll also forgive you saying Jeff Lynne instead of Jim Lynne!! 😉
I recall an interview with Ringo....he was visiting with George who was clearly ill, and when Ringo was leaving him he explained that he had to go to Boston to be with his daughter who herself had a brain tumor. As I'll as he was, George asked Ringo if he needed George to accompany him. Ringo, obviously, gets choked up sharing this event. George was a special person and class act.
favorite song? "here comes the sun". His son looks and sounds just like him!
My favorite Beatle individual his son looks so much like him and is an amazing musician too! 🎸
Rest in Peace George, he had amazing talent❤
Every time I see a photo or vid of Harrison with a cigarette, I want to say "Put it down, George!" RIP FABS4EVER 🙏
He developed into arguably the best song writer of the Beatles.
R.I.P. This world needs far more George Harrisons today. Of course, no-one else could actually replace him.
Just last night I listened to All Things Must Pass. George was a great performer and musician. May he Rest In Peace. It's ashamed he's no longer with us.
A brilliant description of George Harrison's legacy . I loved George's music as Beatle and solo."All Things Must Pass " is a masterpiece.
What a wonderful human being George was. He died too soon. What a genius singer - songwriter he will be missed.
He's always been my favorite Beatle!
George Harrison did compose some of the most beautiful Beatles songs and he had a very remarkable solo artist career afterwards
Such a wonderful soul. He gave us so much music and that keeps his memory alive. 🕊️🙏❤️
What a beautiful man thank you
I often think of the Beatles as I grew up with them. Thank God Paul and Ringo have had reasonably peaceful, happy and healthy "golden years" because it sure wasn't that way for John and George. Here Comes the Sun one of the most beautiful songs ever recorded.
The Concert for Bangla Desh is George at his zenith, an outstanding concert! Miss this guy very much
I found the remastered DVD at a thrift store in Elizabeth, NJ two years ago for only $2.00 What a bargin for such a treasure.
He was a very private person. There's no way to completely describe his last days. He saw Ringo and Paul individually, and he passed in a way that was very spiritual and beautiful (as beautiful as death can be, anyway).
I think death is beautiful because life is beautiful, and death is just another part of life.
@@bajorekjon that’s a interesting way to put it
@@bajorekjonI agree. Myself as a 20 year old, I think the day I'm going to pass is going to be a very relieving thing, in the sense that death isn't a frightening thing. It's the way you die that means something, and obviously you can die in all sorts of terrible ways, but death itself, I hope and think will be very peaceful and relieving. Maybe there's something on the other side, who knows.
"Chear down" makes me wonder SO much !! As it shows his caliber
Not only as a Beatle, but also as a "slide guitarist and writer" forever in my life!... ..
He was a private person and he wasn't well. Show him and his family some respect.
I love George i hope he's finally in peace now💖
I love you George💐💜
All things must pass…fave song and album
GEORGE Harrison s personality addscup to Spiritual .Always seeki gng the Truth.Fab Friend Ultimate Songwriter n Musician n Father..Also wanted to be known asa Great Gardener. That just narrows it down.I CUD GO ON N ON ABT MY FAVE BEATLE N SOLO ARTIST N BAND LEADERCOF TRAVELLING WILBURYS.❤😊😂🎉
Harrison's solo work All Things Must Pass is one of my all-time fav albums (take on a desert Island, of course with electricity to be able to play). And he was called the quiet Beatle because when they hit America he was sick and was told not to talk much to save his voice
Not mentioned in the video, George actually saw Ringo and Paul (individually) before he died.
Right? Plus the friend, whose house he passed away in, was actually Paul McCartney. I thought it was an interesting gloss-over considering it followed the clips with the remaining Beatles and a McCartney-specific clip.
@@mightysmith1 Thanks. Exactly - a gloss-over. And there was one other thing there that I was going to mention, but could not be bothered to go into. But I would have to re-watch the video to figure out what that was, and I am not going to do that.
While My Guitar Gently Weeps was my favorite by George Harrison. A beautiful soul.
I look at you all, see the love there that's sleeping
While my guitar gently weeps
I look at the floor and I see it needs sweeping
Still, my guitar gently weeps
I don't know why nobody told you
How to unfold your love
I don't know how someone controlled you
They bought and sold you
I look at the world and I notice it's turning
While my guitar gently weeps
With every mistake, we must surely be learning
Still, my guitar gently weeps, yeah
I don't know how you were diverted
You were perverted, too
I don't know how you were inverted
No one alerted you
I look at you all, see the love there that's sleeping
Why my guitar gently weeps
(I look) look at you all
Still, my guitar gently weeps
George Harrison was one of the greatest artist ever and he will be sorely missed he was a fantastic songwriter and all of his albums are great and his time with the Beatles is fantastic especially when he wrote great songs like I need you emote and even a solo work like crackerbox palace my sweet lord give me love give me a kiss on earth when we was fab great songs. and I’m glad that George Harrison‘s friends gave a concert up in London the concert for Bangladesh.
While my Guitar Gently Weeps is an anthem. It is about LOVE... Playing and singing this song may at times cause misty eyes in both men and women everywhere across the Universe... "nothings gonna change this world "
Best Beatle ever. Long live George Harrison
George was a Legend as were and are all of The Beatles. Great video, thanks.
Well Said!!
We may have our individual favourites, but no Beatle is "Better" or "More Important" than another.
Like Paul himself said, they are four perfect corners of a perfect square!! 🙂
A great man.
After George then came John. One at a time God said, I want my own perfect concert in person. If God wants them, he shall have a personal view of the best humans he can give him. After all the Beatles arrive. God shall be blessed.
I can't be the only one catching the narration of this video at 5:50 saying "Jeff Keltner" instead of JIM KELTNER. Really, @Grunge? JIM KELTNER!
My favorite musician…
Great video with a lot of good words about George. He still a fantastic guitar player
The quiet Beatle? Bollocks! - Q: -Who was the first rocker to explore Eastern spirituality, brokering what would come to be called "World Music?" A: George Harrison.
Q: - Who spurred the Beatles to quit live performance and expand their sonic palette in the studio? A: George Harrison.
Q: - Who awoke rock’s social conscience and invented the all-star charity event with the Concert for Bangladesh in 1971? A: - George Harrison
His birthday Feb 25, 1943, and Robert Bigelow May 12, 1944, were twins separated at birth. This has not verified; The likeness of their appearance is notably similar, more so than George being "Quiet" in any way at all.
Interesting and unique person
George and Olivia had balls
What is your favorite song by George Harrison?
Mind set on you absolutely banger
Something Is My Favorite Song By George Harrison.
Just For Today
Here Comes The Sun
Crackerbox Palace, This is Love and I Got my Mind Set on You.
True legend spiritual dude
"JIM" Keltner 5:48
"Jeff" Keltner?
Being, in his own words, a heavy virtually lifelong smoker starting at age 13 I'm truly amazed that he lasted until age 58. With tobacco being being responsible for a number of cancers. emphysem, COPD,, etc.I'm truly sorry that he didn't stop smoking ar an earlier ageķ.
🌹
Cancer is the worst 💔
Rip
My wife died of the metastasized brain tumors and not the primary in her lung.
Why did Billy Corgan get the last say on George?
A lifetime of smoking will always take its toll.
😔🙏🏽
The "friend's home" was Paul McCartney's home. Cracker Jack research. 🙄👍
Actually it wasn't. It was a home Paul formerly rented. Paul doesn't own property in CA. Read an article about that
@@sportsgod7968 Aw. That sucks to know
JEFF Keltner?! The legendary session drummer you refer to is JIM Keltner. Come on, Grunge, do your homework, proofread, and fact check. I suppose I should be thankful I didn't hear about Phil Spackle, Jord Martin, and John Lemmon.
Jim Keltner.
This video seems spotty and jumps around alot, difficult to follow
Like comedian Sean Lock dead at 58 from smoking.
Before creating a tribute video to a legend, make sure you get all the correct facts. George final resting place was at one of Paul McCartney's houses. There are more mistakes but you can work them out.
BS, ATMP was re MASTERED...NOT remixed...
Died in a friend's home? Macca's home.
He didn’t want to die in hospital so Paul arranged to move him to his property in Beverly Hills.
