Great video, I've been loving the "hybrid" one-arm swing, and was having a lot of fun with it. However, for beginners, (like me) I'd suggest caution on doing these at very high reps/to fatigue. I got the info from one of Dan John's podcasts. When fatigued, it's so easy not to keep your form "facing forward", ie, your swinging arm shoulder facing forward. Naturally, this puts some "twisting" on your back, which will get worse when the reps climb up. I noticed this myself, when trying many sets of 50+ hand-to-hand swings (as a test towards a 10,000 swing challenge). I noticed the next day that one side of my lower back was "smoked". On review, I realised my form was slack. I still think it's a great exercise, but it's critical to get your form correct. For the time being, I'll be sticking to two-handed swings for high volume and using the hand-to-hand version to practice getting ready for snatches. Thank you for introducing me to the hand-to-hand hybrid swing! It's still my favourite variant.

Thanks for the tips! I've been practicing for almost two months now. I couldn't start with 8 kilo like you recommended, started with 5, but quickly got to the 8 kilo bell and now I've added a second 5 kilo bell to work with ten. My baby hands now have baby calluses and the benefits are noticeable
I’m looking forward to this video. I commented a few weeks ago about doing my first kettlebell workout. I used a 10 lb bell, and I did a 5 minute beginner workout. I freaking hurt myself! I pulled something deep in my chest that prevented me from doing any workouts for over a week, and my doctor told me not to do anymore kettlebell workouts. Honestly, I really enjoyed it, so I’d like to give it another try. I’ll work on my technique, but should I drop down to a 5 lb bell next time and worn my way up? Clearly, I’m weak and out of shape, but we all have to start somewhere. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Hey Aimee. Unless you have any pre-existing medical condition, you can stay with the 10 lb. We start with female beginners always with 8 kg (18 lbs). The key is to start with the grinds first (exercises without any ballistic element) and build a strong foundation. Reason for this is, that the ballistics (such ad swing, clean, snatch) pose a higher injury risk. In the next step, ballistics can be approached under the guidance of a coach. Hey Lebe! Great video for newbies! What is the difference btw Hybrid, Hardstyle and Sportstyle Swing? As far as I can see Hybrid looks a lot more like Hardstyle except your hip hinges with a minimal knee bend.

Hey love your channel. Was swinging after doing 1/2 pood to 1 I thought my hinge was ok but apparently when thrusting forward I must have been arching my lower back slightly because my back was strained for a few days?
Beginners always feel it in the lower back. Try to rest enough before getting back to the swing to avoid hyperextension of the spine Alex. Thanks for sharing! - Gregory

A question: every time I do a time under tension with the KB swing, I feel my hamstring burn and so stiff the days after (sometimes it take even 5-6 days to recover). I guess my technique is somewhere between hard and soft style. Any ideas why the hamstring might respond like that? Thanks!!
Thanks for sharing! How would you rate your hip mobility from 1 (very tight) to 10 (very loose)? If it's somewhere between 1 and 6, you might have to increase stretching capabilites of your hip muscles. We had a young soccer player once with terrible hip mobility but incredible acceleration skill. His tight hips caused him to cramp up everytime he charged for a couple of full speed sprints. - Gregory
the swing really confuses me. either it feels like i am just chilling or it feels like i am too forceful and i dont want to hurt my lower back. cant seem to find a happy middle... still new though

Question. Is KB snatch a good replacement for a KB swing in case you need variety or a change of exercise ?

I know it's not a smart approach. But a heavy kettlebell for example 40kg will teach you not to use your hands because it's not possible
It's actually a great way to "teach" proper feedback. Must be done however (in most cases) under guidance from a coach. - Gregory

Tip number 1- dont train with kettlebells and use barbells instead and actually become strong
