From what I understand of Korean pronunciation (and I am by NO mean an expert) it's pronounced Deh-chwi-tah, with the 'w' sometimes seeming lost so the middle syllable sounds more like just 'chi' (the I as in 'it', or maybe 'ee'). Sort of. Maybe. But aside from my questionable explanation of Korean pronunciation, Daechwita is a type of music that would be played when the Emperor moved about or the army was moving, I believe. So the first lines of "Daechwita, Daechwita, play it loud, Daechwita" is kind of saying "Make way for the Emperor" in a sense. And we all know Agust D is the king. Haha. You're also right with him playing two characters. The Emperor who tramples on the people around him simply because he's "the top", and the normal citizen who rises up and dethrones him in the end. The way I like to take the visuals is this: it's very easy to let fame or success go to your head and give you a sense that you are above everyone around you, and that tends to breed a negative attitude in the way you interact with others. BTS had gained so much fame by the point this came out (in May 2020, about 3 months before they blew up even more with the release of Dynamite), I see the visuals as Agust D trying to keep his head level. To show him consciously trying to NOT become someone who tramples on others just because he has success now. Two different possible sides of himself. And of course the lyrics talk about rising from the bottom and being different from others. But the visual representations are what get to me the most (aside from the killer beat and tongue technology he laid out for us, hehe) You are also the first reactors I've seen that truly noticed that Jin and JK made a cameo, and were 100% sure of it. To which you were 100% right. Others were sometimes like "that looked kind of like Jin" and then immediately forgot about it and didn't even notice JK was there too. Though there's a lot going on in this video to notice. There's a behind the scenes of this MV and Jin jokes around about Yoongi "begging" them to be in it. Haha. From what I understand of Korean pronunciation (and I am by NO mean an expert) it's pronounced Deh-chwi-tah, with the 'w' sometimes seeming lost so the middle syllable sounds more like just 'chi' (the I as in 'it', or maybe 'ee'). Sort of. Maybe. But aside from my questionable explanation of Korean pronunciation, Daechwita is a type of music that would be played when the Emperor moved about or the army was moving, I believe. So the first lines of "Daechwita, Daechwita, play it loud, Daechwita" is kind of saying "Make way for the Emperor" in a sense. And we all know Agust D is the king. Haha.
You're also right with him playing two characters. The Emperor who tramples on the people around him simply because he's "the top", and the normal citizen who rises up and dethrones him in the end. The way I like to take the visuals is this: it's very easy to let fame or success go to your head and give you a sense that you are above everyone around you, and that tends to breed a negative attitude in the way you interact with others. BTS had gained so much fame by the point this came out (in May 2020, about 3 months before they blew up even more with the release of Dynamite), I see the visuals as Agust D trying to keep his head level. To show him consciously trying to NOT become someone who tramples on others just because he has success now. Two different possible sides of himself. And of course the lyrics talk about rising from the bottom and being different from others. But the visual representations are what get to me the most (aside from the killer beat and tongue technology he laid out for us, hehe)
You are also the first reactors I've seen that truly noticed that Jin and JK made a cameo, and were 100% sure of it. To which you were 100% right. Others were sometimes like "that looked kind of like Jin" and then immediately forgot about it and didn't even notice JK was there too. Though there's a lot going on in this video to notice. It was Yoongi from the past and now. But I gotta say the blond hair Suga looks majestic af. I like it much more than the other one but that is my opinion. Yoongi with long hair is just something else. But yeah if you listen to the song Agust D,Give It To Me and other songs from 2016 it was much different than Yoongi now. Because he was then responding to haters and just basically cutting their heads off.

this one has a lot of cultural things n references. Also these lyrics are a bit wrong or simplified, so its difficult to understand what he is expressing. In th first view just looks like a swag song, but is more than that, yoongi n th whole rap line are not that rappers who just do empty verses or messages of "im cool". All their works always have something behind.
