Ridiculous price. PC ownership is becoming unaffordable. Yes it’s nice but you need a really healthy disposable income to be able to justify getting one now. PC’s in 2025 - $1000+ for a top tier motherboard, $500-$600+ CPU, Graphics card - Intel 50 series $1500-2500, memory is the cheapest now but still up to $350, NVME up to $200-800 for reasonable size & speeds, a case - cheap or $1500 for a niche custom case, PSU from $80-500 all US prices, so 1/3 more for Australia. Then mouse & keyboard. Up to $500 for those. Who can afford that ?? Not many. Getting priced out of the market. What I do is buy new but an older generation. My PC is a 12th gen, my sons a high end AM4 platform and daughter, AM4 mid tier. All 3 years old. Affordable this way waiting 1-3 years post production or when a new platform is released to get the previous platform. We keep our rigs until they no longer function for the tasks we need them for and will only upgrade when there’s a major failure. Only if CPU or motherboard fails will I upgrade. The prices increase on new platforms and releases but the value takes a backward step. Technology is moreso now sidestepping than moving leaps and bounds forward but the prices sure are.
It isn't unaffordable at all. Just lots of stupid people paying too much for stuff they don't need. My entire build cost less than this motherboard alone and the graphics are beautiful. But that's just me.
@dimarcusa i'm in the same boat as you. I updated my bios about a week ago, and it went from displaying vitals and q r codes to literally just a loading screen not even displaying the temperature of either the c p u or the mos. They came out with a patch. It did nothing and yesterday again they came out with another patch, and all it did was bring back my c p u and mos temps. Yeah I can't say i'm happy either.
I’m planning to grab this board been waiting since they announced the x870e lineup and still by till this date it’s not available in Canada, I might have to grab one for the states
you can definitely pair with CPUs R7 9800X3D or R9 9950X3D RTX 5090 (if released) RAM with 128GB of 8.4 GHZ Speeds SSD 4TB Sound Cards (AE-9) if needed
It actually is a problem. I have an adapter for four drives that I use all the time. It's disgusting they can charge that much for a board with only one by 16 PC IE slot
Back in 2020 I got a z490 Godlike from MSI for for $750. I'll never buy another mobo for that insane of a price ever again lol. Honestly, I regret it. Cause it really lets the CPU perform at it's best possible, but do I want to get a lower end mobo for current gen processors? Not really, but again I really don't want to spend that much on another mobo.
Love your content!! With that said...there is no consumer motherboard justifiably worth paying $1000 US dollars for. Even motherboards in the $400+ US dollar range is problematic. Don't fall for the okie doke consumers!
Another $1,000+ dollar motherboard that doesn’t include a physical manual. PDF’s are inconvenient to reference in the middle of a build, and I hate this trend.
If you install an AIO or have a CPU fan, wouldn’t that cable be short? And if it wasn’t, wouldn’t it run over the top left screen and block some of the screen?
I'm not sure how I feal about this one I think somethings could be better, what's the point of having ATX e motherboard if all your connectors rely one proprietary connector? that is so simply removable? MSI You might as well add a wire and move these ports to the backside of the case. It makes more sense this way! The arrangement and size vs practicality doesn't add up. also there's to many small flashy useless screens, why not add one really good one? with useful info like per core temps or 4k oled or something?. or even boot information! also the mate black paint job doesn't really make it look like anything special. I could buy some Doller store mate black spray paint in a can and turn up the same Finnish. Final thoughts do you need all these ports at the cost of impracticality? hopefully you not buying for looks alone! I was drawn to godlike boards in the past but for this one I may just go with the carbon this time around.
I know my B650E will extract the same performance from the CPU, but man, I've never been down this bad over a mobo lmao. Amazing, but 1100$ for a motherboard is unrealistic for the majority.
If you think about it, that price really isn't that terrible... That board has every feature you will ever need and then some, and the AM5 platform will probably see a decade of chips. You really may not need to upgrade your mobo again until AM6 is a thing in 2035 or 2038. By then, any upgrade will feel worthy, too, not just incremental. I'm an ASUS fan, and got my "ultimate" board, the Crosshair VIII Dark Hero, and I am confident I won't need to upgrade my board and chipset, or CPU, until I've put another 10 years on this old body. Top-tier PC components aren't ALWAYS a waste, if you think realistically, and spend only slightly irresponsibly. If I didn't have a recent "dream build", I would seriously consider this board, or something of it's caliber.
@@con5278 I'd bet not. The AM5 socket had a lot of "extra" pins added exactly for future growth. Look up the AM5 socket, there is a pin-out on Wikipedia that shows there is a ton of room for expansion.

If you use the expander card for m.2 drives, will they run at full speed? Will it pull from the graphics card? Just trying to understand the use case for this. Thank you
6:47 finally a 15 fps screen on my 1400$ motherboard
i dont understand why so many technical devices including cars have those super cheap low Hz displays.
it looks so cheap and like a knockoff
THANK you, it makes it look so cheap when you’ve spent $1100 on it
The point is to be evil for them (and some buyers). It seems the screen have issue, which is in concordance with what i wrote. You can find owners complaining about it in the comment section.
I'm looking at in comparison to the MSI Prestige Creation and given when it cam out its just a natural step up to the DDR5 and new AMD Chips. What do you think?
Man i wish the godlike came in a white version that would be an instant buy for white builds..
reminds me of the ROG CROSSHAIR X570E...thing is a monster and what i use currently. idk why i decided to go old generation but i got the thing about 16 months ago and even with how old it is was still worth like $800. Has all the bells and whistles especially for AM4. This is actually the first MSI board that i could see myself wanting, but nah i still prefer Asus.
I am so unhappy with this board. After one week the dashboard screen stopped working. It doesn’t even display debug codes.
Best motherboard ever made imo.
I’m planning to grab this board been waiting since they announced the x870e lineup and still by till this date it’s not available in Canada, I might have to grab one for the states
They should put more efforts in designing backplates 4:48 because that's the most visible part of the pcie cards in the majority of pc cases
I can't wait for people to buy it in like 10 years, for their "top end retro build"
and pay like 120$ for it and complain how expensive it is
the hot swappable m.2 is INSANE
am I correct - removing the bottom VRM allows to instal x8 pcie device into bottom pcie x4 slot?
In europe its 1400€ at best and that is far more then in the us.
you can definitely pair with CPUs
R7 9800X3D or R9 9950X3D
RTX 5090 (if released)
RAM with 128GB of 8.4 GHZ Speeds
SSD 4TB
Sound Cards (AE-9) if needed
If I ever were to build a pc game console, and money wasn't an issue, that's the board I'd use...
All that price to get replace next year
It actually is a problem. I have an adapter for four drives that I use all the time. It's disgusting they can charge that much for a board with only one by 16 PC IE slot
I really wish they made an X870E Ace... I feel like that was the sweet spot for me. The Godlike is way too much.
I think it's coming. Probably see it at CES
for the price only thing is missing is a pcie 5 plx chip
I swear not even overclockers will use everything this board will offer but holy hell that price tag on it 😂
just ordered today for xmas
Back in 2020 I got a z490 Godlike from MSI for for $750. I'll never buy another mobo for that insane of a price ever again lol. Honestly, I regret it. Cause it really lets the CPU perform at it's best possible, but do I want to get a lower end mobo for current gen processors? Not really, but again I really don't want to spend that much on another mobo.
Love your content!! With that said...there is no consumer motherboard justifiably worth paying $1000 US dollars for. Even motherboards in the $400+ US dollar range is problematic. Don't fall for the okie doke consumers!
Beautiful
i really like what they did here. too bad i'll never be able to afford one
5:12 rip pins
I just bought mine! I’m gonna pair it with a Optimus cpu water block!
Another $1,000+ dollar motherboard that doesn’t include a physical manual. PDF’s are inconvenient to reference in the middle of a build, and I hate this trend.
The chapters in the video seem to be copied from the ssupd xhuttle video, just thought id let you know since i noticed it
If you install an AIO or have a CPU fan, wouldn’t that cable be short? And if it wasn’t, wouldn’t it run over the top left screen and block some of the screen?
No stock in AU yet ☹ going to go great with 5090 and MO-RA IV cooler👍
oh my GOD .... I want one
Is this generally better and more expensive than Xtreme series from Gigabyte?
hello! im out of the loop, what RAM will you be using for this system?
the name itself describes it... GODLIKE MOTHERBOARD GODLIKE PRICING
Would love to see a Unify for AMD
These prices are just stupid.
Not too bad solid 6.4/10⭐
Are the m.2 hot swappable? I thought pcie required you to power off before pulling them
Who even needs to do that?
There nothing godlike about it if it still split lanes when m.2 slots are used.
AM6 will be a thing before 2030 at this rate
@@con5278 I'd bet not. The AM5 socket had a lot of "extra" pins added exactly for future growth. Look up the AM5 socket, there is a pin-out on Wikipedia that shows there is a ton of room for expansion.
MSI tend to have lan port problems, becareful when buying one
the xpander is not hot swap storage.
Insane price!
The z790 godlike went from $1200 to $470 is what I paid just wait to eol.
Mine shipped today can’t wait to throw a 9950xd in it with a 5090
Been waiting to waste money on this thing and placed my order on the MSI website. Now just waiting on the 5090 and 9950x3d to pair with this board.
These top tier boards never make sense
So now you have to pay $1k to get a back cover plate ? I bought the Aorus master at $500 with no back cover 😢
I'm sorry you said WHAT with the price. Nope they don't have to worry about me lol
I have the x670 godlike, is it a major upgrade over that? My motherboard JUST got firmware to support my x3d cpu
I love all the extra usb c ports. But thats just too rich for me.
Here I am again watching PC builds/parts I wouldn't even buy.
1100 is insane
Or get a decent b650 or X670e mobo, I got the aorus x670e ice for an all white build.
