@@tangodown2721 because this technically the “budget” version of this monitor, it’s higher end cousin the g9 is what they all chose to review/ were given for review I presume. Similar specs but with a 240hz refresh rate.

@@sirjonsmithiii992 HDR kind of sucks which is a shame. Still trying to tweak it to get it working right. The size is cool, but also not the best for gaming. Most games don't support the size with out modding. For $1200+ I'd go with a regular ultrawide instead of a super ultrawide.

I have the 3840x1080p one. I thought the 1080p was going to be a deal breaker, but at most points I can't tell the difference between it and the 1440p monitor I gave up. The 1ms response time and 144hz refresh makes up for it all.

This monitor was $2499 when released (in Australian $). I just picked up an absolutely mint condition used one that came with a heavy duty monitor arm ($200-$400). It was the fourth monitor arm the dude bought. Took him that long to find one strong enough fot it. He sold me the monitor with arm for $800 in all the original packaging. Pretty happy, and I only had to drive 5 mins to pick it up. Now I have to wait for my PC, desk, and chair to arrive lol. Good to know I can have my laptop on one side of the screen and desktop on the other.

@@fynkozari9271 I have the LG 34GK950F-B, and its really nice, specially the colors. However, I used to have the previous samsung CHG90 and I really liked it even tho the resolution was lower than the CRG9. It's a tough choice because even 34", I don't feel like its big or wide enough after experiencing a 49" monitor. I would definitely look into the new LG 38" monitors, or wait for the new samsung G9.

Reid I'Anson Sameee ! Had this beast for like 6 months now. I’ve been running Tarkov nonstop and i can spot players pretty quickly , the larger aspect ratios is definitely a benefit.

I have this monitor, let me tell you, I adjusted my setting to where I can see 180 around myself in third-person games. Absolute game changer especially when playing Mordhau
I have a g9 odyssey and I agree with you. It's a lot of money but when you realise what you get for it, it's actually surprisingly good value. Especially for something that offers such a crazy immersive experience
@@omhari2608 I recently got the g9 from Samsung and had those concerns. The only issue I ran into was not getting 240hz out of the box. You just need to software update it and it you'll get 240hz. It may even work for you out of the box. In regards to productivity the crg9 and g9 will be as good as each other. But the g9 has better specs. The curve is quite sharp on the g9 but it really works when you're gaming. The only thing the crg9 offers, some may like it, is the less sharp curve at 1800R. The g9 is 1000R. That's it, there's no reason in my book to go for CRG9 especially if it's more expensive. The g9 is the one to go for my friend. And when you play games on it. It's amazing. And yes when you do work it's great too due to all the screen estate. The only thing a bit disappointing about it is the HDR. Not as good as I expected but that's the case with monitors. Also the plastic on the back isn't the most premium feeling. But the monitor I do think is well worth the money if you can afford it! And yes to clarify the major issues many had when it launched, have not happened with me so seems to be fixed!

Tested this on Black Desert Online, World of Warcraft, Guild Wars 2 and it truly looks amazing.
I like that monitor's width it's just looks proportionally far too shallow imo.
I move in from my x34 predator 3440x1440 to this Samsung and let me tell u its day and night u are right with the right set up and desk space this its without doubt one of the best monitors on the market. Thanks for ur video. U just described under 11 mins
thanks for ur time to read my comment hey quick question what its the best setting to experience hdr on nvidia control panel i have test the 100hz for 10bit color /rgb and full . on window 10 i activate hdr but in games like bf5 for tell u the truth i rather go sdr than hdr excepting tomb rayder .anyways what setting do u have on nvidia control panel and monitor to get the max performance peak brightness out of it did u update the monitor to the latest firmware or let it stock 100.4 version? thanks great channel

I purchased one of these monitors, but unfortunately my unit came with several dead pixels near the middle of the screen. Probably wouldn't bother many people, but because this product costs over a grand it's something I wasn't prepared to accept. A quick Google search also revealed to me that dead pixels are fairly common with this display. Worth noting if you plan to buy so you can go with a retailer that has a flexible exchange/returns policy.
Thank you very much for your excellent review. I have some additional questions: how are you doing with the black level? Does the monitor suffer from clouding? Does it suffer from backlight bleeding? I'm a bit of a maniac with these things since I like to play in total darkness. And would you say that colors looks like an IPS panel? I have had an LG 29" 21:9 which is IPS for 6 years now and I am afraid to make the leap to Samsung due to the doubts I have. In my country the LG 49wl95c-w which is IPS is also available. I work in design and of course I also play a lot. Which one do you think I should choose?

Looking to compare this to the Lg49wl95c for video creation. I love the lg for the ips element but the Samsung is so much brighter. I’m not a gamer, but I do like vivid content for video creation. Any advice?

I considered getting this monitor, but I ended up with a 38 inch ultra wide instead. Just wasn't practical for my desk because of all the stuff it would block. My 38 does block stuff, but it's workable.

Which curved game screen do you then recommend as the best you know about. Which screen is the screen that you use for your own use?
When a flat surface is displayed on a curved monitor the perspective gets distorted. A kind of fisheye effect. The only solution to fix that is when monitors producers will address directly to DirectX and Vulcan developers to add a curved field of view to those libraries.
How would you say this will run on a very high end Alienware R11 with a 3080 RTX with 128gb of system ram? I also see there is a 240hz refresh rate that supports Nvidia Gsync version thats more expensive. Would you suggest this monitor for say an primary MMO player, the new Star wars Squadrons type game etc or go for the 240hz version? Thank you for any help.

Hi thanks for the great review can I just ask you as a gamer if you had the choice of either this samsung monitor or the LG UltraGear 38GL950G-B 38" UWQHD+ Curved Monitor which one would you choose?? I bought the G9 Oddyssey 3rd of december 20'. Since then I've returned 6 G9 monitors (yes 6...) to the store due to dead or hot pixels, first 2 had a hot pixel on the left side of the panel, last 4 had a dead pixel either on the upper or lower right side of the panel. We cannot accept this kind of lacking QC from Samsung. Luckily I had a return policy of 30 days no questions asked for each monitor.... Buyers beware...

Great monitor for those who want to watch a movie while working. This is definitely designed for productivity,
Samsung CRG9 is suppose to be 240Hz g-sync and free sync with 1ms refresh time. here is the link: displaysolutions.samsung.com/monitor/odyssey
Same panel, but the C9 has DSC display port, which is why it can go to 240Hz. But I have heard that you still have to sacrifice some settings to get that and once you do, it takes it down to 120Hz. But this one, you have to go down to 100 Hz to use 10 bit feature, so it is still 20 Hz difference. With they would have gone with DP 2.0 or Hdmi 2.1.
Samsung's new Odyssey G9 monitor brought me here and I am really considering if it is worth upgrading from an X34P instead of the PG35VQ. Is Gsync ultimate impressive?

I got RTX 3080...cant really find much choice of G-Sync monitor and there is lot of Freesync monitor. I am into sim racing game only especially Assetto Corsa competizione. Is there is much different if i were to get freesync monitor with RTX 3080?
I have an 11gb 1080Ti at the moment. What is it like as far as screen res selection in game? Can I specify a screen width which doesn’t use the entire width and still has correct aspect ratio? I really want this screen for the massive desktop area for productivity and will update my GPU once the 30xx range are out, but play games now so if it’s not going to screw AR I think it would be a good choice.

Any gaming benchmarks planned? I'm planning to buy this monitor and a 2080 TI but I'm cautious about pulling the trigger now with the rumours around 30xx and big Navi.
Would the 2080 Super be enough for this beast?
You can pretty much look up 2160P(4K) game benchmarks and add on 10%fps, keeping in mind most benchmarks use full ultra settings as a baseline, where gamers are usually smart enough to tweak a few settings for the optimal IQ to performance balance.

How is the experience with picture by picture on this display? I’ve really looked at this format a while to use as intended as well as essentially a bezel-less two monitor setup with two PC’s. I’d be curious how this display would fair with that use case in mind.

@@leksaaq late reply, not op but I did purchase the monitor. In pbp mode you are limited to 100htz and no freesync so for gaming it isn't perfect but still certainly usable. For productivity it's fantastic. I use the pbp on the daily and swapping to it takes 3 button clicks and no action needed in windows. Highly recommend
@@JoeNokers Hi. Can you use the same mouse on both input ? If so is it automatic (just pointing the mouse from one screen to the other), or is there a user action required ? (I know LG have a software for their ultrawide that allows this).

With all that real estate were there any imperfections in the panel (dead or stuck pixels)? That would be my only worry when buying a panel that large or should I say wide.

i got the Samsung LC34F791WQUXEN 34" UWQHD Curved LED Gaming Monitor w/Speakers and its great for games and movies on Mac Pro... I'm thinking of getting this... is the hight better than mine? Also the fact its not 4K is putting me off. Is there a 4K version?
Honestly, I wouldn't mind just running 2560*1440p in the center for FPS games.

the black level sucks in that recordings. Even black surfaces are more black than... the monitor.
I am torn between this C49RG90 and the Odyssey G9, on paper the G9 looks superior but its been plagued with QA issues from day one and still not fixed as off Oct 2020. Any advice on what you'd choose.
same im torn between the G9 and this. I think the are fixing the issue that's why they are out of stock as of right now. Idk weather to wait or just purchase this.
@@kazmir_ I am in the UK and some online retailers still have stock but the larger retailers: Amazon / Samsung / Ebuyer that i trust the returns policy on more are out of stock. Some people say buy from Samsung as more chance of getting a newer fixed model so i am probably going to do that. However some reviewers even in Oct are saying it has QA issues, so its a total gamble if the issues are fixed or not.
