@@BlueAmerican26 Yeah, but it isn't Astro Turf. I played football in HS and college in the late 80's and early 90s on actual Astro Turf. It was a thin carpet glued to cement. (Watch Joe Montana play the Giants or Eagles to see the worst offenders.) My joints hurt just walking for a week after playing on that stuff. It was little different than being tackled in the street, never mind the rug burns. My elbows are literally scarred.
The modern artificial stuff is not like that. It has issues, but it's not the cause of Rodgers achilles injury, no more than the hardwood caused Kobe's. Both were caused by the same thing. High mileage on the late 30 year old bodies of elite athletes who, due to their greatness, annually played deep into the post season of their sports.

@@dangerousdylan6262 The turf today has issues, but it’s not the same as Astro Turf. It’s complicated by the absurd power and speed of today’s athletes (Zion for example) out kicking the coverage in terms of ability of joints and tendons to keep up. Never mind that until very recently, pro careers were done by 35. Messi, LeBron, Brady simply didn’t exist a decade ago. I didn’t say artificial turf has no role in athlete injuries today, just that it was not responsible for Aaron Rodgers blowing an Achilles, at age 39, on an absolutely routine tackle.

Josh Allen better slow down with all these reckless and careless plays. The first INT was essentially a long punt and literally threw the ball 70 yards rolling out to his left. I was very impressed by that alone however he’s too good to be turning the ball over this much. He seemed desperate as the game progressed. Almost like he is trying to carry the team and do too much. Takes so long to recover from, and every once in awhile I'll feel the tendon twinge when I step weirdly or something (and it's been 12+ years). Plus, in the repair surgery they cut some nerves, couldn't feel part of my foot for a few years - though that did heal eventually. Definitely took me longer than a year to recover from. I was a moderate athlete and also in the military at the time, so not in horrible shape, but certainly nothing like a pro athlete. Feel terrible for Aaron. In fact I think there are times in which certain Achilles tendon tests or ruptures do not require surgery. This is relatively new, I’d guess within the past 2-3 years. I will refresh myself on the management and treatment for this injury but serves as an example of how common it is for things to change. Despite the training and precise skills of the surgeon, there is always risks involved with any surgery and a little luck can certainly help determine the outcome. Other than paralysis, loss of life or limb and any other cardiovascular conditions, this is my most feared athletic/sports related injury. It commonly requires the longest recovery time and a lot of therapy. I’d much rather fracture a bone or tear an ACL.

Knowing the type of guy he was back in school and to see him now, it's hard to think he'd walk away like this. I personally think he'll be back, but I admit that we're not kids anymore and things like CTE do concern me a bit. I put myself through accelerated rehab with early range of motion, and weightbearing so i felt the recovery was pretty easy compared to seeing my patients go through ACL rehab. The injury is weirdly nonpainful, feels like someone hit you in the heel with a bat. Surgery wasn't that bad either. Xrays are always taken to rule out bony injuries because it can be done quickly. MRI is something that has to be scheduled and takes several minutes not seconds like an xray. I'm sure the team doctors expected the xrays to be negative, but is just part of the process. Probably couldn’t handle constructive criticism without feeling offended and personally attacked. Or is it because he deliberately said he wanted to only play and retire for the Packers. They showed him no loyalty nor treated him like his peers in relation to personnel. Maybe it’s the packers fans that did the same to Farve and hated to see his success somewhere else. You all better hope Love is the next great Packers QB but luck doesn’t last forever. Maybe it will teach those to appreciate loyalty and commitment while being grateful for what you have. Damar Hamlin went into cardiac arrest and was dead on the field. Without intervention from the trainers and doctors he would have certainly died. He’s been fully cleared and playing again. Everyone is getting soft these days. Most pro players play with some degree of pain. Rodgers had a down year last year but they all do. Statically, around the league average with rookies all over, without their best offensive linemen, not to mention those rookie WR’s were constantly trying to get healthy too. They started winning and made a run at the end. Making the playoffs is my standard for calling a team “good”. They came up short but they were able to make it through and gave them a chance at the end. Also, wins and losses aren’t a QB statistic. Since when was a QB solely responsible for the result of a game? It’s the most absolute trash stat I’ve ever heard. That’s like saying a pitcher lost the game when the pitched all 9 innings and allowed 1 run and his team wasn’t able to score any runs. That’s their fault? Everyone is so quick to blame the QB or coach for short comings. Maybe your team cannot compete physically with the other team. I’ve watched good QB’s struggle with poor offensive line play. Yet they hold the ball to long, aren’t mobile enough, should’ve changed the play ect. The Super Bowl favorite after week 1 should be the 49’ers. Even with average QB play but the ability to obtain and keep high level talent at other positions. Everyone making excuses for the Chiefs without Kelce. Every team pays the QB way too much but that’s the market. Just wait until a coach decides that all these teams trying to run spread and be faster at the expense off size is going to prompt them to beff up and the power run game will make a comeback. It’s already happening in college.

Even though I have my issues with Aaron Rodgers both on & off the field & regardless of your opinions when it comes to Aaron Rodgers vs. Green Bay & his deal with the Jets you have to feel bad for the guy. I say that b/c he & his teammates had so much hype going into this season to the point where it got them on television in the offseason & now not only can his season be over but also his career could be over in just four snaps that were on national television.

Bro, I’m not a Jets fan, but a huge A Rod fan and this low key breaks my heart. In my gut I knew him being on this team had Super Bowl dub written all over it and to have it end like that hurt ME! I can’t imagine how the team, staff, and fans feel. My heart goes out to everyone involved and I put a lot of energy and hope into A Rod’s recovery process so he can come back and win a Super Bowl with the young studs that are the New York Jets.
May The Force Be With You All❤
